we stayed 13th june for 2 weeks when you drive up to the hotel it is a little bit underwhelming as the hotel has very little kerb appeal and it is surrounded by some striking hotels but once inside it is a very different story ,checkin was very simple and quick and the reception staff were very welcoming and offered us any drink of our choice ,we went to our rooms 6506 and 6508 on the top floor facing towards the mountains not the sea which was fine ,the rooms are lovely and the walkin shower is great the cleaners keep rooms and hotel spotless,we stayed in an adult only hotel just along the coast last year and it was very good but this hotel is just a cut above with some special touches the food was outstanding there is a bistro where you can get food and drink 24 hours a day so what ever time you get to the hotel you can get something to eat and drink we tried the italian al la carte and it was very good ,on our first day we went to the beach as there were no sunbeds free they have a very nice beach bar on the beach which serves a good lunch to i am quite an early riser and went for a swim at 7am a couple of times so i did put our towels on sunbeds before we went to breakfast so we could have 4 together but if you just need 2 there are some around most of the time the entertainment is a bit strange the stage shows are mostly very good but the dj performance is awful the only english music he played was about 20 years old which was strange because in the day around the pool they played very good current music also the live bands are quite good ,on the whole the waiters are good a few are better than others but if you are friendly they will be to and some speak ok English our first week it was mostly German guests but in the second week there were a few more English people it was nice to hear English voices lots of places to have a drink piano bar has the best drinks pool bar is very dark for some reason but it gets very busy at night so there is a good atmosphere ,there are lots of shops a long the end of the road with all the usual stuff
the cafe and ice cream parlour in this hotel is amazing also the shopkeepers in the hotel are very friendly ,only used spa on check out day to shower and change so cant comment on this ,the hair and beauty salon is always busy so i think it is good i could go on and on about how good this hotel is but the fact that we can wait to go back says it all see you soon xxxx

Arrived at the Commodore 28th June what a lovely hotel, we upgraded to a sea view room with no problems at all very pleasant & helpful staff, drinks offered by reception whilst checking in, rooms very pleasant and comfortable fantastic air con, every thing about this hotel was brilliant, even down to the iced face towels offered on the beach a really special touch well done to the Commodore Elite and all your wonderful staff.

Room Tip: Book a sea view room for fantastic views of hotel grounds and beach

For the past 14 years our main holiday has been in Dubai and we have got used to 5* star hotels and unfortunately have judged our second holiday of the year on Dubai standards but the Commodore Elite surprised us as we expected a 3 or 4 star but the Commodore Elite was far more than that and the staff were lovely and helpful although sometimes they struggled with the English language as most of the guests are German but we did not find this a problem. I would say do not get a room on -01 floor as it can be a little down in the pits feeling but in all fairness the staff at reception did offer to change us to a higher floor the following day but we declined as we felt we would not be in the room long enough for it to be a problem. For an all inclusive I was presently surprised the quantity and quality of the food and the waitress service with drinks was superb. All in all a good holiday

Room Tip: Go for a higher floor

We stayed there for the 2nd time between May 11th and 25th 2014 following our initial visit for a week in May 2013. On walking in on arrival, we noticed that everything was still as pristine as it was when we first came, as was the friendly welcome from the reception staff who immediately ordered us a drink whilst we were checked in. It was also impressive to note that they knew we were returning guests. This time we had booked one of the pool rooms and were allocated no.5000. We were shown to our room and again noted that everything was as good as we had remembered it, however an added bonus of this type of room meant we had a large patio area with sun beds, umbrella and furniture and access to our own private pool. For information, room 5000 has probably the biggest patio area and enjoys full sunshine between noon and 16:00.
Over the course of the next two weeks, we experienced fantastic food, drinks, service and cleanliness which cannot be beaten anywhere else in our wide experience of hotels and holiday resorts.
The Dolmus into Manavgat and Side were quick, frequent and very reasonably priced (TL3 per person each way).
The staff in the hotel, be it in the restaurant, piano bar, pool bar, beach bar, ice cream bar or either of the two A la carte restaurants (which were truly superb), were extremely friendly and helpful and they all seemed to enjoy speaking English with us. Special mention must go to the following staff who should all be mentioned in dispatches for outstanding customer care :-

Ahmet Taskaya, Erkan Tas, Nuri Bulbul and Salim Akbash

Ilal, Umit, Tulay and Gulsum, Sakan (and his amazing cocktail stirrer art) and not forgetting Omar the 'luvvly Jubbly' trainee barman.

I even had a chat one evening with the Top manager of the hotel (I assume he is Engin's boss, who was always to be found chatting with guests and checking the standards of the entire hotel) and told him that we would be interested in returning next year, hopeful booking one of the Jacuzzi rooms, and I also promised him a glowing review on Trip Advisor!

Everything we experienced during our two weeks in the hotel was absolutely top class, and we have had no hesitation in booking to return again. See you in May 2015

Room Tip: Room 5000 has a large patio area

Just got home from a weeks stay in this hotel. This is best hotel I have stayed in in Turkey, I have lost count of how many times I have been to Turkey now. The food is lovely , lots of choice, well cooked and always hot. No problem getting tables, no queues. Never once has problem getting a sunbed, you could arrive any time, no need to get up early and put towels out, this doesn't happen here. Fridges around the pool area full of bottles of water and juice which is great also waiter actually in the water with floating bar serving drinks to you as you swim past. The rooms are lovely, openplan bathroom very modern. Bathrobes, slippers , soap, shoe polishing kit etc also a beach bag for you to keep. We had a swim up room which was very nice, relaxing patio and our own sunbeds which we used later in the afternoon to get some shade. All the rooms though are a very high standard. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Didn't have usual animation team, one lady run water aerobics every day, and other activities but the evening entertainment was best I have had abroad. Instead of animation team the hotel brought in different acts every evening, acrobats, dancing troupes, groups etc which were really good. This was much better. Beach is lovely and clean, loads of beds, nice beach bar for drinks and snacks. There isn't much this hotel hasn't thought of to give you an enjoyable relaxing holiday, We will definatly be booking again , try it , if you find something here to complain about then there is something wrong with you

We have just arrived home today. Hotel and surroundings were excellent. After reading the previous review I thought having a drink served in a glass is perfect. Yes glasses do get broken, it is an adult only hotel, so if idiots walk around in bare feet then perhaps they should go back to kids clubs. All staff were great. Hotel was spotless. Food was excellent. Yes there are a lot of Germans but again who cares, you go on holiday for yourselves dont you!!

Room Tip: Had a room on the 4th floor, with side sea view. Didnt use room service.

The good :-
Check in was easy, we arrived late at night, were given a cold drink by friendly staff and were asked if we were hungry and told where we could eat at that time of night. We were taken to our room promptly, (we had booked a pool room) and from a previous review, was hoping it was not 5003 as this appeared to be the smallest. As we passed I gave a sigh of relief and was ecstatic to have received the best they had to offer, that being 5019 at the end. The room was spacious, there was a seating area, a massive bed, two sinks and a large rainfall shower. The outside space was fantastic, maybe over twice larger than any room in this category, with 2 sun beds, a parasol and table and chairs. It appeared that this room was the only one to get sun for a long period of time and was a godsend to us, as it was more peaceful and there was none of the reserving sun beds at the crack of dawn around the pool. When we lost the sun on our terrace, we headed to the beach, where there were ample beds to chose from. The beach bar was nice, however it's the only place I have been to in several years where they serve drinks in glass!!!!! Whilst there we witnessed one waiter drop glasses everywhere onto the wooden walkway and into the sand, had they been plastic, there would have been no problem, it's hardly rocket science. The beach itself was nothing to write home about, but ok for a walk and there was a bridge where you could see Turtles at certain times of the day.
The food was of a fair quality and enough to choose from even for the fussy eater, but the same as most all inclusives , becomes a little repetitive after a while. The cafe did lovely iced coffees and cakes, which of course we had to partake of daily :-). We tried both a la carte restaurants and although both nice, we preferred the Turkish, for its food and staff.
Out and about, there are plenty of shops within easy walking distance, or for further afield a trip into Side is nice, costing around 17 Euros each way in a taxi and 1.5 Euros on the bus, which is the better option, but be aware that the bus station is a 5/10 min walk from the town over lumpy ground.
The bad :-
Being English and proud of it, the hotel was predominantly occupied by German clientele and the staff seemed to accommodate them more so, especially in the bistro, which was open from 3pm until the following morning, providing drinks and snacks, however the staff here seemed less accommodating and at one point downright rude, with the exception of one waitress who was very understanding and helpful. On a previous evening, I asked for a black russian, which consisted of vodka, coffee liquor and coke and had had no problem, but the next day it was a different matter with the jobs worth on the bar, who refused to make it,saying " it's not part of the concept" when challenged, he said in a quite aggressive way, I speak German not English. The said waitress negotiated with him and eventually we got our drink. I was not asking for any premium brand product or anything I wasn't entitled to, he would have given me the vodka, coffee liquor and coke separate but not mixed, just being awkward I feel and left me feeling inferior and insignificant.
All in all a good holiday, mainly due to our room allocation, but hardly heard an English voice all week, prefer the Alba Royal by choice, but that's my opinion, go and try for yourself.
