We ate at Emir one evening on our recent trip to Side. The restaurant is a lovely oasis of calm away from the hustle and bustle of the main strip. There is no-one standing in the road outside dragging you in, which is more or less the norm in Side unfortunately.
The menu at Emir is great value as they offer a fixed price choice which includes meze, bread, main course, fruit and tea. We had a memorable fish dish for our main, which was divine. We were shown the freshly caught fish from that day to choose from and it was then cooked simply and deliciously. Service is slow paced but very friendly and the place has a lovely relaxed homely feel. We would strongly recommend paying a visit. This was one of our favourite restaurants in Side by far.

A very friendly family run bistro. Very popular, some were having to wait for a table. Good range of traditional Turkish food all freshly prepared. So much better than the sea front restaurants.

We spent a week in Side and tried various different restaurants including the top rated one on this site. But this was the best by far. The freshly made meze starter was a meal in its own right and the shish chicken and beef was so tender we literally gasped every time we bit into it. I'm still amazed that meat with only basic seasoning on it can taste that good and be so tender it almost melts in your mouth like chocolate. Then, when you're still reeling from the wonderous main course, they bring you fresh figs that defy description. Words fail me.

The family that run it are lovely people - warm, welcoming and clearly passionate about their art. And it is art - on a plate. No ostentation, no fuss, no drizzled this or smeared that, just absolutely fantastic food.

Fantastic little family-run restaurant. Best food and value-for-money in the town. Everything tasted like it had just been picked. Meat and fish totally fresh and cooked impeccably. Very friendly owners too.

Please take the time to try this restaurant. The restaurant is the most authentic we found during our 2 week stay in Side. Be aware there are 2 Emir restaurants, and you will receive a very different experience in both.

You will notice a massive vine covering part of the restaurant - truly covered in bunches of grapes, and probably spot local Turkish people eating here - high praise indeed.

The food at the Emir Pansion Butique Hotel speaks volumes. It is freshly cooked to order, so anticipate you are in Turkey and enjoy the wait. As a previous reviewer mentioned, unless you have an enormous appetite ordering a main course will suffice. The reason is that you are given the most lovely cheesey garlicky french bread slices, plus normal french bread plus the first visit we had salad plus dips plus a portion of vegetable stew. The second time the breads, salad and king prawns would you believe and aubergine (all on the house). Both times I had chicken Shish as I enjoyed it so much. My husband had lamb one day and fish the second. At the end of the meal we were given fresh fruit on the house. I had a gin and tonic, the amount of gin was so large I had to ask for an empty glass to pour half into - so in effect I had 2 drinks out of the one. The food here is truly delicious.
Emir senior and I think it's his wife do all the food prep and cooking. Emir takes your order and has a lovely smile for you. His wife just works away in the kitchen area. I believe the waiter is their son, his English is good. It appeared they are a quiet family. You will have none of the upselling you get in so many of the restaurants, they are just happy that you are enjoying their food. The food is a real delight.
There is music in the background but that's where the entertainment ends. You will come here purely for the food, and for me I feel that speaks volumes.
When we return to Side, without a doubt we will return to this lovely restaurant.
Thank you for your hospitality. Lauraine and Peter
