Reviewed October 13, 2009

Stayed here for 2 weeks in Sept 2009.

Excellent standard - spotlessly clean, although one or two carpets outside some of the 2nd floor bedrooms look as though they are ready to be replaced.

We arrived after the restaurant had closed for dinner but we didn't have long to wait until they opened again at midnight for a set meal for incoming guests. We later discovered that we could have requested room service between midnight and 6.00 am at no extra charge - at other times you have to pay.

All meals were of excellent quality and staff very attentive and friendly. The main restaurant has two small outside dining areas but they soon get filled up. Some nights it was like the Whacky Races watching people queue up and race through to get the outside tables, but there is plenty of room inside, so no rush needed. Indeed if you leave it a bit later you would probably get seated outside if you wished. We did quite a few times in the area overlooking the pool, which is very nice.

You also have a choice of eating at specialist Italian, Turkish, Chinese or fish restaurants which are all good. You can choose to dine there 4 nights in any 7 as part of the all inclusive. The Turkish one also offers a musical trio and a belly dancer. You have to book for these restaurants and not all of them are open every night so best to plan ahead.

No shortage of loungers at the pool area. There is also an extensive stretch of exclusive beach right outside. Again no shortage of loungers but the ones at the front tend to get reserved early in the day. Whilst at the beach you will probably choose lunch at the beach restaurant which again is of a high standard with freshly cooked food. Look out for a waiter called Adil - he's good fun and speaks good English, but he supports Manchester United. Well nobody's perfect!

The hotel also offers a spa and physio but if you do want treatment you can get it a lot cheaper along the beach. The beach itself is good hard sand and it's a pleasant 40 minute walk into Side town, where you will find a good range of shops, restaurants and bars.

Don't bother taking Turkish Lira - all the shops take and prefer Euros.

It's not necessary to tip at the hotel but it is appreciated if you do, and there are tip boxes at the bar and in the restaurants. People tip in all sorts of currencies and you may well be asked at some stage if you can change coins into notes as the banks won't accept coins.

The evening entertainment is on the whole acceptable especially when outside groups come in. On other evenings the animation team do their best but let's just say that their enthusiasm cannot be faulted, and although most of the animation team could speak many languages their tendency was to present mainly in German.

We had a game of boules at the beach one day organised by a member of the animation team. He spoke in English to encourage us to play but after that it was German only for the other guests, more or less completely ignoring us apart from a couple of misplaced rude gestures, no doubt his idea of fun. However in true British fashion we said nothing in order not to spoil it for others, but we didn't join in on subsequent days.

This was the only real negative about the whole place, apart from the pounds gained with all the food - but that's our fault!

Would we go again? Most certainly!

We are just back from a fantastic wees holiday at this hotel.
It is amazing!! From the minute the coach pulled up at the front door we were impressed.
The hotel is so clean everywhere. All of the public areas inside and out are spotless and our room was sparkling. Even the 'public' toilets at the bars etc were spotless.
The staff are very friendly and helpfull and so genuine. Yes they appreciate getting a tip, but its not nessecary to tip them all, all of the time, A small tip to your favourute barman etc, now and again goes a long way. And even when we didn't tip we got just as good service, and always with a smile.
We had a huge room with a large sitting area and a seperate dressing area which was great, but the standard rooms looked great too with plenty of room. We had a balcony overlooking one of the pols and a huge window with a great sea view which was lovely. Our mini bar was filled every day with fruit juices, water, coke and diet coke, which was great. It was nice to know that if you woke up in the middle of the night you could get a drink easily if you needed one!!
The food was very good, with plenty of choice. The main buffet dining room was very big, but never seemed too busy or crowded. There was always plenty of choice here, with all dishes being topped up reguarly.
We used two of the a la carte restaurants - the chines and the italian. Both were very good, the chinese being the slighlty better of the two.
We also ate at the beach reataurant at lunch times, again there was plenty of choice, and good quality. We also used the Hot and Crusty snack bar at lunch times or in the afternoons and again it was very goos. Everything here is cooked to order, so it is fresh and piping hot.
We had crepes one day from the lady that sits by the pool, and they were very good!!
The room service menu was free from midnight until 6am. It is a limited menu but very good!! We used it a few times for a late night plate of chip and they were yummy!!
The hotel is in a quiet location - its a 45 minute walk along the beach into Side itself. This is the easist an safest way to walk to Side. There are shops about 10 minutes walk away in the area of Kumkoy. These sell the same stuff you get in Side and the prices are the same so don't worry about getting ripped off! I got a fantastic leather bag here!
We did go into Side via the Dolmus and the wee train, which is so cheap! Side is lovely. We walked to the ruins at the harbour where Cleopatra and Anthony were but it was to hot to look around the museum and the rest of the ruins, though they did look fascinating.
We used all the bars at the hotel althpugh the Baccus bar which is open 24 hours was the best. Feti the barman was brilliant - so friendly and he always made sure our drinks were topped up. and that we had seats. He looked out for us on the terrace at night and always got us 2 of the lovely wicker chairs which was great!!
The entertainment was pretty standard. The team did work really hard though and the effort showed. The chinese acrobats were amazing - well worth watching. The live bands on the terrace were also very good.
The pools were all very nice, and the water was a good tempertaure for swimming!! We always got sunbeds easliy, even after 10am. We always got them in the area we wanted with a parasol. You get clean fresh towels every day at the pool and mattresses.
The water slides are good fun and a great way to get into the water!! They are only open at certain times with a life guard present. There are also life guards at the main pools and the beach which is good. The beach was lovely and very clean. The water is a murky colour but this is due to the sand not because its dirty. We swam in the sea and it was lovely and warm.
All said the hotel is well worthy of its rating and great value for money. I would return!!
Any questions, please let me know!!

Just back from this Hotel on 24th Sept 2009,we both went for a relaxing break and thats what we got , don't get me wrong there were families there with children and there was no bother whatsoever .
plenty of sunbeds to be had ok you might not get where you want but there many plaaces to go and get peace and quiet if you so desire.
The restaurants what can i say i am the most fussy of eaters on holiday especialy in the heat and i have been to places all inclusive too where i have felt quite nausia where all the different smells of the food on offer get to me but not here for some reason the food on offer was edible even for me , There are differing nationalities of restaraunts on ofer at no extra cost ie:Turkish,Chinese & Italian these are a must to do .
The waiter service in my opinion is second to none ok you might needto tip them every so often but they deserve it believe me they work their buts of in the bars to the dead of night and you will most likely see them working in the restaraunts in the morning at breakfast ,i was tipping them 10 lire (£4) and that would probably do for a couple of days and i would mix who i would tip as that meant that they were all vying for us to sit down in their working area and they made sure that your glass was always full .
in summing up the rooms were very clean and the mini bar in the room was always topped up next day internals of the hotel was spotlessly clean as were the restaraunts & toilets externally the pool area was always kept clean as well as the toilets , we are most certainlly going back next year
I feel a need to mention the two waiters that require mentioning Habip & Feuz who are great guys who were polite, freindly and attentive

The hotel position on the beach. The views from our room the friendliness of the staff were nearly unfortunately outweighed by the almost overwhelming bias towards the German speaking residents.
In the past my wife and I have always 'done' the Greek Islands but thought for a change we'll try Turkey as the advice we had been given was it needed a try. We went with Thomas Cook as past experience said they could be relied on. We arrived at 3am and were met by a welcoming receptionist who informed that there was a 24 hour bar and room service if we required. The room was very clean with a sea view and a 'French Balcony' (which was about 30cm from door to ledge) you felt you could easily fall over which my wife felt every time she went near it.
Although the staff very attentive the first words of greeting were in German be it morning or at another time of the day which after a few days became a little tiresome.
The breakfasts consisted of many types of sliced meats, salad, fruit, fish, cereals, cheese, etc. So if your start to the day is egg's, bacon and beans forget it. There was fried eggs or scrambled with boiled Hot Dog sausages which didn't hit the spot for me. But saying that there was much of it.
The evenings entertainment consisted of the Animation Team and live shows which were very good. Followed by a live group or singer on the terrace which normally finished by 11.30pm at the latest which left things a bit flat.
It has 4 Al La Carte restaurants Turkish, Chinese, Italian and Fish which you can visit once a week free but book as soon as you arrive.
Check out time is 12 noon but as our pick-up for the flight home was not until 0240 the next morning we asked if we could keep our room on till at least 7pm but were told we couldn't but after some other English people who were in the same predicament turned up we were offered a complementary room so we could change and shower.
This is a lovely hotel with great staff and excellent location 'But' it seems it is geared up for the Eastern Europeans not the English.

To set the scene, we are picky!
This was our second trip to the perissia, this time we stayed in a family suite, which gave us a king size bed in a seperate bedroom, two single beds in the lounge, which if great for a family. Two mini fridges which are re filled daily, tea & coffee making facilities. The bathroom had a seperate shower and double jacuzi bath.
My daughter stayed in a superior room, which have a queen bed and a single bed. Both of the rooms were once again faultless.
The hotel is very clean and the staff are so friendly. Some of the staff remembered us from the previous year.
There are several al a carte resturants, which need to be pre booked the day before with guest relations, well worth a visit. The buffet is plentiful, both in the morniing for breakfast and in the evening for dinner, different meats etc each night.
Mehmet in reception is excellent for any questions you may have.
The guys on the beach for water sports, will go out of their way to ensure you have a fantastic time, and banana joe will always ensure you have a fair price. They have been at the hotel for 13 years.
Room service if free of charge between midnight and 6am for anyone that may want a midnight snack!
We will be booking for next year, without any second thoughts, but this time will book for two weeks as one is not enough!!

We stayed here between 23 August and 6 September 09 - for the first week there were 12 of us - 8 adults and 4 teenagers (aged 13 and 14). We arrived at 4.00am and checked in quickly - we were asked if we wanted anything to eat or drink which was nice. The young porter took us to our room and later brought our cases to us. We decided to have a look around and walked around the pool areas which were lit up then we found the Bacchus bar (24 hr bar). We were having such a good time that we stayed until the sun came up!
One of our group reserved some sunbeds for us then the holiday began!
With regard to sunbeds, for the first week we did get up for 7.00am to reserve beds as we needed so many - it took 5 minutes to put the towels on the beds then back to bed - it did not impact on the enjoyment of our holiday at all. For the second week it was quiet so we really didnt need to get up as early as there were alot of free beds.
The main restaurant is the Paloma Restaurant - the food is fabulous - loads of choice for everyone - you dont need to put on loads of weight as alot of the food is fresh salads, fruit and vegetables in different guises plus a dedicated "diet buffet" section which is veg and steamed chicken, fish etc. At breakfast, again loads of choice - you will love the omelette lady - you can have plain, cheese, cheese and ham, cheese & onion, ham, peppers - thewy are lovely! You can also have fried eggs, scrambled eggs, eggy bread, they also make fresh pancakes, together with all the cereals, bread, fruit, yoghurt, meats etc. Men do not have to wear long trousers,as long as they are in smart shorts (not speedos ha ha!!) they are fine. Also, you cannot go into the restaurant with swimwear on, you must be clothed or the waiters will ask you to leave. This is fair enough, it is 5* so standards must be kept up. There is also the pancake lady - she sits by the pool 6 days a week making flatbreads with different fillings. You can also get lovely cheese sandwiches and chips between midnight and 6.00am through room service.
We tried two of the Al a Carte restaurants - the chinese was lovely but the service was quite slow - the Italian was also nice - I would have liked to try the Turkish but there was no time!
Rooms - our room was lovely - a big double bed, a large single and a bed settee - balcony and sea view. The beds were really comfortable. The air con does not seem to be that good when you first enter but I can honestly say I was never hot in the room, it was just right. Saying that, the climate in Side is lovely - hot sunny days and cooler evenings with a really nice breeze.
Entertainment - the Polymotion team work so hard - they start at 10.00am when they do a little good morning dance around the pool which is nice. They then do stretching exercises, water aerobics with the very fit looking Rameses, then the pool game and the club dance. They break then until 2.30pm when the do more pool games, yoga, step aerobics, plus various other bits and pieces. Dont know what the kids club is like but we did see the little ones passing around the hotel dressed as indians etc quite a few times. In the evening, the Polymotion team welcome you into the restaurant, they will sit and eat with you before putting on their show at 9.30pm. Before this is the kids disco - this is more geared towards the german children but the songs are lovely. Some of the shows were good, some were not so good - the shows involving audience participation were hilarious. After the main show, there is live music upstairs on the terrace - we tended to site there in the lovely wicker chairs - you get waiter service which is lovely.
There are various nationalities at this hotel - German, British, Belgian, French, Russian, Austrian - you name it , they are there. You get used to the announcements being made in three languages, its no problem.
Make sure you visit Veli upstairs in the Key Club - he is hysterical - we made friends with him during our second week - he speaks excellent English and has a degree in Geography but is working as a waiter - he lives 10 hours away from Side and had just had a new baby - he told us he cannot go home until November. We did tip some waiters - they work all year round, 6 days a week, 12 hours a day and get £350 per month! They are all so nice and accommodating and wont let you wait for your drinks, they insist on bringing them to you. They love talking to the guests and it is interesting to learn how they live and work.
We are thinking of booking again next year, in fact, some of our party have already booked, they were so impressed - this place has a very relaxing vibe and there is no pressure to get involved in games etc - you will have a cracking time here.
