Mehmet's might feel a little misplaced but the food is excellent. The menu have large photos for each dish (all taken by the restaurant), prices are cheap and there are no extra service fees. The staff are very helpful and no newbies.
Extra plus for the "open kitchen" so see where and how your food is prepared!

Mehmet in the ruins serves delicious food in outdated furniture and surroundings (and I'm not talking about the ruins;), but the service is quick and friendly. I had a mixed grill platter, the lamb melted in my mouth. Very good value for money.

Real Turkish food, at a good price, served in a garden cloose to the old part of Side. The staff was friendly and there was no loud music playing while we where eating. Caraoke only one day a week in a family friendly atmosphere. A playground for children in one part of the garden.

We visited mehmets on our first night in turkey. The meal was very nice on my part however my girlfriends was not. The atmosphere was good however spoilt by a dull quiz taking place. The service was poor as the waiter kept trying to sell us trips and would not leave it. Overall I enjoyed the food but let down by atmosphere and service.

Most of the menus and food in Side restaurants are the same! Memets is actually one of the tastiest ones.

Yes, the statues are a bit of a worry but if you can overlook that, the food service and price were all very good. We'll go back.
