Reviewed September 6, 2011

I'm not going to return there once again, definitely not my style of leisure.

Pros:
- location - straight on the beach;
- ultra all-inclusive system is implemented, paradise for food and strong alcohol lovers (but spirits are not always of high quality)

Cons:
- rude and inattentive personnel;
- a lot of drunken people because alcohol is served here 24h;
- very noisy hotel, it was sometimes difficult to have a good sleep and hotel staff was not sensitive to my requests of more quiet room;
- no life outside of the hotel territory, area outside is not looking safe;
- importunity of hotel souvenir shops' traders.

well upon arrival the cesars looked great, but underneath it certainly wasnt 5 star. more like a 2 star, our sheets felt damp for about 4 days. all german food and people, infact we were the only other british etc there in 6 months. would i go back??? not on your nelly.
shops and market have same repetitiver clothing and not a very cheap price.
the germans sadly were incredibly rude and this seemed to rub off on the turkish. we found the week very hard to bear, and counted the minutes to come home.
also the toom didnt have a kettle or cups for the morning.

This is a very ciean hotel with only 1 major drawback,the majority of guests come from Russia and Germany. When we were there only 1 other British family were staying at the same time,only 2 members of staff speak english at a decent level.The food is basic but edible,the a la carte is fish only.The swimming pool is massive and the slides are enough to keep you going poolside with an alright animation team

Cesars Palms is actually not a self-contained hotel but a separately standing building belonging to the Cesars Resort Hotel Complex. The complex is situated in Kumköy village of Manavgat Region in the province of Antalya, Republic of Turkey. The region is agricultural, there is no industry except for food processing, so the ecological conditions are very good. The air here as well as the Mediterranean sea shore is clean, so it's a perfect beach resort location.

The hotel has seen better days: the furnishings are pompous and of good quality, however in obvious need for partial renovation - e.g. the shower handle in our room was ragged, and the minibar door handle was actually... rusty. The room's furniture was a bit scuffed, and the TV set was a plain old 14" CRT. The cable provided 7 German TV channels, BBC World Service, 3 Russian TV channels, 1 Montenegrin and about 7 local (Turkish) ones. Just in case - we've got what is called a Standard Double room. May be more expensive apartments are kept in better condition, can't say anything about that. However the public closets' mirrors have their inner foil (amalgam) partially worn and some liquid soap dispensers were broken and were not replaced during our stay (10 days).

The sanitary condition of the hotel and our room in particular however was perfect, no complaints could be made about housekeeping whatsoever.

We've paid for Ultra All inclusive service so the safe box, mini bar and full board (buffet service) / drinks were at our disposal free of extra charge. The buffet service cuisine misses most of marine delicacies except for fish, so - although this is strange for a hotel situated at the marine coast - don't expect to see mussels, oysters, shrimp and crab dishes in your daily ration. However salads, meat and vegetarian dishes, spicy soups as well as desserts, are in abundance. The waiters are also a drawback of this hotel - they are - mostly - forgetful and unattentive.

The hotel's lobby has a nice bar and a free Wi-Fi internet access. The reception staff was very friendly.

The hotel has got its own wellness centre with a turkish bath, a hair studio, a gym, and there is also a tennis court. There are 3 open swimming pools - for small children, younger teenagers and for older folks. There's also a closed swimming pool inside the hotel.

The beach is well equipped with sun loungers and tents, a water sports facility (parasailing, etc.). The shore is sandy and if you swim a little further there are some cays with a lot of sea life (huge crabs, small calamaries, differrent fish, shellfish and jellyfish), so don't forget to take your swimming mask with you.

Bear in mind though that Kumkoy village is noisy at night and discos stop working only at around 01:00 AM. The mullah from the local mosque will also most likely somewhat spoil your morning dreams with his loudspeaker-amplified prayers.

Also, I don't recommend shopping here - although the village is actually composed of small shops, you'll have to haggle over the price a lot to just make it decent. For all your shopping needs I recommend you take a dolmush (small bus) to the town of Manavgat and ask the driver to stop at Antalya Cd. (street) near the smaller of two Migros stores, you should start walking from there and go forward in the direction of dolmush's route, towards the river, over the bridge and further. There are many shops in that area, with decent prices and lots of merchandise. Also there are a lot of banks and ATMs in that part of the town. I recommend installing Google Maps application onto your GPS-equipped communicator, it helps a lot in orientation in Manavgat.

the worst hotel i have ever been to
never a five star maybe a three or two and a half.
food is poor with very cheap cuts of meat.
no kids entertainment to speak of.
staff are russian or german speakers in the main.
pool area is over crowded as they built an annex for extra guests
annex also has a disco which is very loud and very late.
local mosque wakes you up at 5.00am with wailing over loud speakers.
would not go back on a free holiday its that poor.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAQUE.

We are a family of 4, the children are 3 & 5. We had paid and reserved a double/twin room to be available for us from 2.00pm, we were shown to our room at 6.00am the following day.

We where shown to a standard room, clearly designed for two persons; shoehorned to accommodate 4, by converting the seating area to a bed and supplying a camp bed.

We phoned reception the next morning to inform them that the air conditioning in our room was not working. However reception hung up on us 4 times. Meaning I had to walk to reception to portrait the room problems, whereby I was informed that the air conditioning in the rooms is only available between 4pm and midnight, don’t forget that this is supposed to be a 5* hotel. The broken room aircon was fixed on the third day, the same day that the hotel admitted their error in room allocation.

Hence we packed our bags and moved to our family sized room. The hotel offered no assistance with our room move, to the extent we had to move the camp bed between rooms ourselves.

To our dismay the aircon wasn’t working there either. As the aircon is only available between 4pm and midnight, we couldn’t check in advance of moving. By the 8th day of our holiday we finally got the air-conditioned room we had paid for.

For your information, aircon is not available in the restaurant; with 599 guest rooms this is a lot of people in a non-cooled environment!

We were sold this holiday on the entertainment potential for our children, with the different clubs available, but all entertainment adult or child is in German.

On two separate occasions we witnessed excrement in the pool, we informed hotel staff, who ignored us and it was left for the guests to remove the logs.

We found the hotel management to be ignorant and selective when required, in their understanding of English.

This hotel is set up for German, Russian and Dutch. As English you are very much ‘4th Class’.

If you would like to receive a 2* holiday however pay for 5*, learn new languages and get swimmingly close to nature, this is the hotel/holiday for you. Better still why not go somewhere else were you should be pampered, enjoy yourself, and receive the impeccable standards that you have paid for.

Enjoy your holiday and I hope this review is of assistance.

  • Liked — Salads and I’m a carnivore. The local village personnel are very friendly.
  • Disliked — No aircon, no English, floating faeces, ignorant hotel management, I could go on but surely you get the picture?
  • Tips/Secrets — Go somewhere else, it's your hard earned money.
