“Would I go back, DEFINATYELY!!!!”
Reviewed July 5, 2011

Just returned from 10 days in Flora Gardens., we stayed 21st June til 2nd July. We arrived to a Thompson designated standard room at the back of the hotel near the road, although you could here the traffic it was drowned out by water falls strategically placed near each door. Although a little noisy they were better than the noise of passing traffic and something we could have lived with. However the balcony view was the back of the next row of rooms so we upgraded to one of the hotels rooms on that row, the room was bigger and had larger balcony, overlooked a large lawn area with hammocks and partial sea view. So much nicer and well worth the upgrade. The beds are good, not the normal flat hard planks as in most hotels but med to firm and very comfortable. The pillows were good too. We didn’t have slippers or robes in our rooms as indicated in other comments but I’m sure the hotel would have provided them if asked. There are no kettles in the standard rooms, a chair and more elec sockets near the dressing table would have been useful so hopefully this is something the owner could look at supplying. A DVD/CD player would have been a bonus too. The hotel owner is open minded to any suggestions and is interactive with his clients which is very refreshing.
The staff were lovely, some spoke and understood English better than others but they were keen to learn and extremely pleasant and helpful. Special thanks to Emma our rep & Oxana the hotels guest relations who both excelled at their jobs.
I soon realised the cats at the hotel were not being fed by the hotel, the Cat café was periodically filled with scraps by guests. There is a lovely gentle female cat and her four kittens that live near the cat café. She is a wonderful mother and is friendly so her and her kittens will be good to have around. I was extremely concerned and made a point every meal time to feed them before I ate. After talks with both The Hotel Manager and The Hotel Owner, I give them both a BIG THANK YOU! They have agreed to take responsibility for the care of the two families of cats in residence at the hotel. They have also agreed to have the cats neutered, feed them three times a day at the existing cat Café and install two more within the grounds which will keep the two cat families and the two male cats from being hungry and begging for scraps from the restaurants and hotel guests. Please unsure you carry on my plight to ensure this has been done. For anyone who does not like cats by doing this will ensure your holiday will be relaxing as there will be no stray cats looking for food within the hotel grounds. There are cats everywhere in turkey and Greece and it’s the responsibility of hotels like this to ensure a family of neutered cats are kept at the hotel to keep unwanted vermin and stray cats away.

Apart from making sure the hotel look after the cats I cannot fault my holiday in this hotel which in my opinion could soon be re classified to 5 Star considering the on going changes being implemented. The staff had new uniforms while we were there and looked so smart. A new pasta house had been opened. The food in the hotel is very good and the owner told me he was flying in an English chef to train his staff to meet the expectation of the English. He told me they were going to supply English Breakfast Tea in Tea pots and asked for any constructive criticism.
I would suggest looking into ethically sourced meat for the disconcerting guest like myself who chooses to eat local free range and outdoor breed meat wherever possible.

The hotel is in a quite location but a 20 - 30 min Dolmus ride in either direction to lively centres where there are shops and bars galore. We wondered twice to Side which was amazing and a VIP Boat trip which was fab.
The hotel animation team were great, a special thanks to Nick & Harry. We never felt the need to go out of the hotel because the entertainment was spot on. We also partied in the disco til the early hours to Snoop Dog and David Guetta.

The up to date music in the disco, we had a few fun late nights partying til the early hours.
One more BIG THANKYOU to the bar staff who were so full of fun, Ugu in the wine bar who was so sweet and so nice, the porters and the room maids who always had a big smile.
My only two gripes were with the reception staff who were a little aloof and their English was very poor considering their position as front of house. This is an area the owner should look at to improve and look for another Oxana because her attitude is perfect, she makes everyone feel special. My other gripe was with the reception staff at the Spa who were no very welcoming and looked down at you.

I highly recommend this hotel for couples, a romantic holiday the sunsets were STUNNING.. better than in the Maldives.
Would I go back, DEFINATYELY!!!! if the cats were cared for properly, they put in kettles and DVD player in your room, served English Tea and changed the main and spa reception staff.

Again like everyone else has said, we were following tripadvisor and the comments that people were saying about the resort. We had doubts about going to this place but these changed quickly when we arrived. First day there we found our bearings, so consisted much of having a snoop about and checking where everything was. We treated ourselves to the turkish experience by having a turkish bath and massage. AMAZING! 230 Turkish Lire or 42 sterling each for 2.5 hours. Well worth it as helps to get a suntan! The Food was first class! Couldnt complain one bit about anything, maybe the germans who complained about everything but thats for another day. Sun loungers at the main pool bar got snapped up quickly so would suggest placing towels on them first thing in morning to book your spot. The pool side bar we had first class service from the head barman who treated us to eloborate cocktails, designs. When others went to order same thing it just didnt compare. Key is to tip them when you arrive! service was Excellent. Even at meal times the service from the waiters and waitresses was first class, constantly topping up drinks and working there socks off.
We had a garden view room right next to the road and could not hear a thing, so not sure what other people are complaining about. Save yourselves some money and take a garden view and keep money for day excursions. We had day trip to antalya ( 40 mins away on bus) and visited a roman castle up on a mountain then had boat trip out on the sea to watch sunset and castle and town at night. Was lovely sight, entertainment was a dissappointment and boat wasnt great (pirate ship :-/ ) but the thompson rep sold it really well!
All in all the experience was amazing, food was top quality, there is enough to do at all times of the day as activities are ongoing just not in your face, staff really nice, weather and sunset gorgeous and to top it all off, last night seen turtles laying eggs!

Room Tip: Just book garden view!!

Things you need to know standard rooms no kettle but hairdryers slippers and toweling dressing gowns provided. Can't hear noise from main road once in room. Air con more than adequate. Food very high standard good choice bit limited for vegetarians. Drinks choice limited unless you want to pay, cocktails not included. Service on the whole very good waiters speak better German than English. No where to walk in the evenings if you like a stroll. Entertainment not invasive, evenings very quiet take books and games and a torch! No mosquitoes or other flying bugs. Beach towels provided but not available til 09.00hrs. Cool wind most days. 2 beaches to use but beach shoes advisable. 2 pools one colder water than other. Music played on loud speakers at both pools but one quieter than the other. This hotel is lovely the atmosphere romantic and the setting picturesque, every night a sunset worth watching over the sea.

Despite the many negative reviews for this hotel, my wife and I have just returned from a fantastic week at Flora Garden Beach Club. The rooms were great (it is highly recommended that you pay extra for the ocean view), the food was amazing and the people were extremely nice and welcoming. As far as beaches go, it is less than spectacular, but the pool more than makes up for such short-comings. In short, if you are looking for a true beach holiday with no stress, lots of sunshine and great ocean views, this is the place.

Me and my fiance have just got back from a week away at the flora garden and we really can't find and faults with it. The rooms were nice and clean with fresh towels every day and as for the road we never heard it at night and we were in one of the cabanas closest to it. The staff were really friendly and can't do enough for you. As soon as your glass is empty they are there to get you another drink. The food was really nice and lots of choice. At dinner you can eat in the buffet restaurant or the beach bar where food such as burgers, pizzas and salads are made fresh to order. We also had a visit to each of the a'la carte restaurants which i strongly recommend, the food was amazing! The main pool area was beautiful and very relaxing, the views are fantastic and there are plenty of sunbeds. We watched the sunset every evening from either the pool bar or the restaurant and this is not to be missed! One evening we even got to see a turtle nesting on the beach. While we were there we did the managvat waterfall and market trip, it was good but i would'nt do it again and the food on the boat was'nt very good. Me and my partner don't go back the same places as we like to go somewhere we have'nt been before but we will definatly go back to the flora garden. We did think of canceling this holiday due to the bad reviews on here but we would have missed out on probably on of the best holidays we have had. From what we experianced any problems that the hotel may have had when it first opened to thomson couples had been sorted out long before we arrived so if you have booked to go to the flora garden do not cancel as you will have a great time.

just returned from 2 weeks at flora garden the views from the rear of the hotel are stunning and the sunset is not to be missed.the staff are excellent and very friendly special mention to Suleyman in the restaurant and Ugur in the wine house who looked after us and made us very welcome .the only bad point was the noisy main road all night at the front of the hotel.if you have booked a garden view room there is no chance of it being quiet.

Room Tip: no quiet garden view rooms in hotel book superior
