This was an unplanned Club Med initiation for us resulting from our elder son, who lives and works in Shanghai, wishing to have a sporting break during a visit to England in mid July. After considerable email exchange, he selected the operator (Club Med rather than Mark Warner) and venue, which intrigued our other, younger, London-based son. So much so that he joined in and then they invited their aged parents, a memorable first!
So our ages varied from 2 x 60+, 31 and 28. A wide age range to bridge. Well, Club Med Kemer achieved it and unexpectedly did it very well.

CM is a bit of France plonked down in a Turkish bay. At first sight you could be forgiven for thinking CM is a cult, in many ways it is - compelling participatory hedonistic fun that you either embrace or stand aside and go on a barely living Saga holiday. It is not for the faint-hearted, retiring, or those seeking a quiet time. Neither is CM cheap, you get what you pay for. It is all inclusive, by that it means literally everything, water skiing included. The formula honed over the years works, as evidenced by the number of avid fans, who would no more contemplate any other type of holiday than fly to the moon.

All reviewers agree that the sporting facilities at CM are excellent, Kemer was no exception. See the list.

The accommodation is not palatial but you don't go on holiday to spend time in your bedroom. There is no FREE wifi, which, as anyone who has travelled in Turkey knows, is ubiquitous. At the prices CM charges this is shameful. The very least they should offer this service for the ipad traveller to check emails and Skype, say in a designated area.

We are self-admitted Turkey fans, having flown/driven much of the country over 30 years, so we knew what we were going for in terms of weather, topography and people. The location is delightful, the beaches well maintained, clear water - to the delight of the resident turtle, the backdrop attractive.

The parents got into the swing of things, sport/exercise/salsa classes of one kind or another every day; eating, drinking, dancing and watching the entertainment at night. Energetic GOs led the willing GMs, primarily French, to the excesses in the amphitheatre. Whilst the younger crowd were in their element. All day sport, all night partying. We did not enquire further.

Prodigious food. Being "foodies" having lived in the Far East for many years and experienced every style on offer, we are critical. Whilst Turkish food may not suit all tastes, everything was extremely fresh. The chefs at Kemer prepared outstanding and diverse food with international styles that changed daily. Given some guidance a Turkish chef even cut us very respectable fresh toro sashimi from a man-sized tuna fish beached on a serving table. By the time we had finished, there was little left of that prime cut. (It went some way to amortise the holiday cost). As a French GM said, "remember you are in France here, not Turkey".

So when you add it all up and combine it with Turkish friendliness and well trained, enthusiastic GOs, kiddie-free Kemer is a very good option.

My family of 5 was part of a group of 24 adults and kids varying from 1y to 15y. All of us had a good time, largely due to the great weather: one week of sunshine when rest of europe is suffering from autumn storms. Great facility when in resort. Lots of stuff to do. Enthousiast g.o. Helps obviously. Great food and very good variety. Same with evening entertainment. Night club was a bit slow. Wifi coverage is poor and not up to speed. Dont like the club '45' feeling too much. No point in having a evening dress code if people dont know when they pack their suitcases. Stupid idea anyway. Dont go for hike or run outside the park. rooms are average. a great week to balance the sports and food and drinks. Recommend !

If you want to party for a week this is the place to go. but do not expect a hotel experience. The staff (other than the boating team) do not really care..

The experience I had was that the hotel front desk always ask you to call back (I had an item stolen from the hammam and they didn't follow up or seem to care).

I had asked for a plaster and was informed the infirmary was closed and would open in three hours. I told them i didn't want to bleed everywhere.. they didn't seem to care!

Worst of all... I also had some people try and break in to my room (3am) by banging on the window, the window was forced open.. I shared this with the manager Julien who played this down and shared this could be people trying to get in the room when they were drunk. which was nicely reassuring.

reality is that if you do not have any problems you will have a great time. people party hard, and it's a great atmosphere, very french and sociable.

advice for single women, make sure you take a first floor room based on security and my experience..

FYI - rooms are a little tired, holes in some curtains, and in beach towels - the manager thanked me for my feedback so hope this makes a difference if you go..

Room Tip: choose first floor for safety and further from club so it's quieter

We were actually looking for a place to spend a few nights with my boyfriend and he found club mes online whilst we were in antalya so we rang and booked then went straight there... on arrival itr all looked great except we did not realise how much of a party resort this was.... if your looking for peace and quite for some quality time DO NOT book this resort.. otherwise it is ok..

ps. the rooms are not so great

One of the best holidays so far. Sports facilities, food, nightlife were great. Club med is above all a social holiday and the GO's did a very good job in making life fun and easy and more important put a smile upon the guests' face. Moreover special thanks to Adi (boat trip) Raja ( boutique) Tibo and Gaelle (tennis) for a wonderful vacation.
