A large number of us (a family of 10) stayed at this Hotel in October. After reading many of the reviews (good and bad) I was a little nervous as to what our stay would be like, but I was very pleasantly surprised.
The Good Points.
The hotel was very attractive on the inside and spotlessly clean Our room was at the back of the hotel and overlooked the market (1 day only per week) and a wonderful view of the mountains. Our room and bathroom was kept spotlessly clean during our whole stay.
The hotel has a large lobby and bar area and a wonderful heated pool and spa area in the basement (with subdued lighting and chilled-out music) together with a games room, small gym and children’s club.
I had read lots of complaints about the food, but these people must come from a different planet. There were so many things to choose from at each meal time in the restaurant. Hot dishes were mainly chicken or turkey with rice or potato dishes and vegetables. A vast selection of salad dishes including sliced meats, cheeses, olives and always, their wonderful bread. Fresh fruit was available daily, and I’ve never seen such huge juicy peaches. There was also a large selection of sweet desserts (mainly cakes) but as I don’t eat desserts I couldn’t comment on them. Also outside the restaurant was a grill which did eggs and omelettes in the morning and grilled meat at other meals.
During the afternoon, there was a lady by the pool who made little savoury snacks which were absolutely delicious.
The staff were all very friendly and professional and always made a point of talking to the children. The housekeeping staff were outstanding and the ‘piece de resistance’ has to be the Animation Team!!! They really went out of their way to make everyone happy with activities for the children during the day and shows during the evening which were great fun. This hotel owes a great deal to Mira, Alex, Alime, Dogus and Soner especially Mira and Alex who were such great fun with the children, and who I really miss.
The not so Good Points. (Just little niggles)
The sunbeds on the sunny side of the pool were ‘claimed’ by people leaving their towels on them at 6.00 a.m. in the morning and sometimes not turning up until the afternoon. Very selfish. Some of the sunbeds need replacing as they were broken and the pool towels need replacing (very old and thin).
Not everything is all inclusive. Ice-creams had to be paid for and so were any cocktails. After 11.00 p.m. drinks have to be paid for.
The call to prayer did not bother us (we were in a Muslim country for goodness sake) and those that have complained ought to have done their research beforehand.
