“Its ok”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

Stayed 12 Oct 2012 for one week. Pool is good and cleaned every day. The place is basic but clean.
Location is good for the square and shops. Food ok. (breakfast only). End of season so hotel fairly empty.
thus my opinion could be a little skewed.

Room Tip: Pool side.

Unfortunately we were stuck here for a week due to our tour company (Explore! they switched hotel 4 weeks to go) and the hotel promptly gave us the worst 5 rooms in the hotel, bottom floor, common balconey, road side. Nice to see the German school group of 14yr olds got the high, single bolconey and pool view rooms. The room was incredibly small for 2 people for 2 suitcases. We were given a twin for some reason and so we could lay our suitcases on the floor had to rearrange the furniture, pushing both beds up against a wall together (we got our Double bed!) then there was enough floor space for a suitcase. The bathroom is out of the world, a toilet inside a shower is a first for me. Hiding the mould in the grout with blue marker pen, genius! We stayed 5 nights and our room was not cleaned twice by the time we got back from activities at 5:30pm. The lovely ladies did show up around 6, but serioulsy after a day of sport I just wanted to collapse on the bed, it was far too late and they should have cleaned the hotel sooner. In our month long trip this was the only hotel that could not offer a glass of water with breakfast, yes seriously the rude waiter insisted I buy a 2 litre bottle! I was astounded! What kind of establishment can't give a person a glass of water first thing in the morning??? It was tea or coffee nothing else. Next morning I brought of glass of water from my room and got told off for that. I told him I simply wanted a glass of water not 2 litres! and off he went at me! Rest of the week I resorted to having glasses of the cereal milk from the buffet, only cold drink on offer. The pool area was terrible, unsafe and slippery and full of bullish children who took over whole pool with water polo and other games of ball tag. Not relaxing at all and their parents did nothing, so if you like sharing a small pool with 20 15 yr olds this is your place. They run up and down the corridors creating noise late into the night. The garden and pool area was filthy, heavy with weeds, mouldy and very unkept (see picture). It was the hight of summer but it looked like nothing was done since last summer. There a big signs saying don't bring outside drinks etc to the pool area or they will charge your room. Fine I can understand that except I sat at the pool for 45mins before giving up, not one staff member came down to take an order. I went inside and asked for someone to come and take an order, but still noone. The internet is just in foyer. There are no safety deposit boxes in the room, you need to pay extra for one in reception. The staff in the breakfast restaurant were rude, unfriendly and unpleasant, so didn't want to stay for dinner. On the upside the man at reception was very nice and helped fix the remote control which was in need of batteries and some sticky tape on the first night. I also have to say the location is fantastic, down the left side some nice restaurants, down the right a good bar with views, across the road a nice conveneience store. This was the worst standard of hotel we've stayed in but it may appeal to UK, just want a cheap bed so I can sunbake, drink beer and let the kids go wild crowd as there were plenty of these types in Ekici. It maybe family run but lacks the family charm and attention to detail..

Room Tip: Avoid level 1, road facing

We have just returned from our holiday in Kas. We stayed for three weeks in this hotel. This is our second visit to the Ekici. I read some of the reviews on Trip advisor before we left for our holiday. I was a little concerned - the comments were not very complimentary! In our opinion these comments are some what unfair. The hotel I agree is a little tired, however the staff are friendly and VERY helpful. The room was cleaned every day, the shower was good. The breakfast was typical Turkish fare - a good selection of salad, cheese, hams, cereal, eggs and cheese rolls - to name a few items.

The hotel is not too bad. Its location is good and the pool area is lovely. Its just a bit dated and could do with some work. Had problems with the hot water and the wifi dropped out a lot. I'm sure there are better budget options in Kas.

Very tired hotel and rooms far too small for more than 2 people. Pool is in a bad state and so is the area surrounding the pool. Breakfast was great. Tiny balcony. Was in a good location. Bed was terrible no comfort at all. Bathroom tiny. Was clean.

We were 3 friends on holiday at this hotel. Ekici is a nice and friendly hotel, location is fantastic, just at the heart of Kas.But at the same moment - the place is very quiet, Nice garden, swimmingpool, very friendly personal. We would like to recommend this hotel to others and will come again to this place.

We stayed at the Ekici in September and didnt expect much as it was very cheap and thats just what we got.Small room but they all are in Kas but clean . Breakfast the same as any where else.
there was no service by the pool but the family and friends of ther hotel were getting served with food and drinks
It is a family run hotel and there are young childred belonging to them and they treat the pool area as there own, they are very noisey and thats an understatement, once they went back to scool on the 18th September it was a lot better.

I dont think the staff apart from the cleaners ever smiled they made you feel that they didnt want you there.

The breakfast was some times a problem one morning they ran out of butter another they ran out of milk and all as they said was finished.

Over all if you are useing it as a base and are not there much and your expectations are low its ok as its central.

Room Tip: Iif you wanrt more room book a family room as they dont cost much more and you have 2 rooms
