My wife and I spent five days at the Villa Tamara, celebrating our 30th anniversary and had a fantastic experience. The setting could not be more beautiful with panoramic views of the Turquoise Coast of Turkey to take your breath away. This lovely hotel is built into the steep hillside beside the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean. There are three floors of spacious rooms, each with a small balcony that offers a sea view, in addition to some huge "Honeymoon Suites."

The next level down has a gorgeous infinity-type pool surrounded by lounge chairs with umbrellas and an open dining patio with sweeping views over-looking the sea. From there two sets of stairs lead down to three thatched sun rooms with comfy lounge beds and curtains. Further down the stairway leads to the lower "dock" which is a series of platforms built on the rock shelf at the water's edge and furnished with more sun beds and "Chinese Hat" style shade umbrellas. There is a diving platform and numerous ladders that give access to the sea for swimming in the beautiful, clear, cool waters.

The family that designed and owns the hotel lives next door and supervises the operations of the Villa Tamara. The staff was super friendly and very helpful without being intrusive. The buffet breakfast is generous and delicious. We ate dinner here five nights in a row and had a great meal each time. Much of the produce and even the lamb they serve is raised on the family's own organic farm and is a fresh as it gets.

Kas is not easy to get to: a two-hour drive from either Dalaman or Antalya, but it is worth it if you really want to get away. There are a lot of stairs because the hotel is built on a steep hillside, so you get a good workout. It would not be a good spot for someone who is mobility-challenged. The driveway is incredibly steep, so if you are driving your own car here, be prepared for a tricky arrival and departure. If you come by taxi the nearby town of Kas is too far to walk, so you will need to spring for transportation to and from the town.

All of this came at a reasonable price that gave us great value. We loved our time at the Villa Tamara and will definitely be back!

Room tip: Ask for one of the front rooms that faces the sea directly, although all the rooms have some ocean view.

First thing that make this place amazing is the great view .
I will say few words to describe my visit in Kaș: great food, nice people, best place to spend a vacantion, quality in services.
In the morning you'll have a nice breakfast, after that you can play different games, you can choose one that you like, i was playing backgammon.
After that you can choose if want to stay at the pool side or go to swim in the sea wich is at 5 minutes distance.

On the Kas Peninsula, Villa Tamara has amazing views of Meis, Turkish Islands and the crystal-clear, blue Mediterranean Sea! Great snorkeling from the dock; but, our favorite activity was simply staring at the beautiful blue water. Seaside bar has the coldest beer in Kas! Restaurant has good food, great breezes and mesmerizing views. Rooms are large and comfortable. Staff is very friendly - though patience is needed for communication if you do not speak Turkish. Only negatives: You must take a taxi or bus into town for nightlife and tours. There is a very steep hill to get to the bus stop, which leaves you sweating and winded. Local bus runs every 30 minutes for 3 lira/person or taxis are 25 lira. Some minor cosmetic repairs are needed in the rooms. Otherwise, this is definitely a 5-star location! Enjoyed scuba diving in the crystal-clear water and sea-kayaking (though this is not for the faint of heart...it was quite a workout!)

Room tip: Great views and private sea access.

We've been to Kaş before but were unaware of Villa Tamara, until this trip. First of all the location of the hotel is impeccable. The view is between Amalfi and Santorini - kust ahead of Greek island Meis. Totally stone built Toscana/Mediterranean style mix makes you feel like you're in your dream home. The rooms are clean, all with a sea view. The staff is kind, all english speaking and are at your service day and night, asking if you need anything else frequently but yet gently. The restaurant is great where most of the fresh herbs ams vegetables are grown and served from the owner's Organic Farm. You can either have your own lodge at the beach or take a nap at the pool by the poolbar. Choice is yours. I highly recommend Villa Tamara over other overly priced competitors in the region because its worth every penny - you won't regret it.
