“Perfect spot for us....”
Reviewed December 29, 2012

As our arrival was fairly late in the afternoon ( we had just completed a "Blue Cruise" and had to reconnect with our friends who were on another adventure), we were happy to drop our bags and meet at the rooftop dining room for refreshments, just in time for a beautiful sunset over the lovely little town of Kas. We had a great welcome from the gracious Ahmet and the staff - everyone without exception was.friendly. Loved the small but modern clean bathrooms. The food for both dinner and breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We were not convinced that we would find a desirable Turkish wine but we did here (thanks to the suggestion of our waitress) and Likya became our wine of choice for the rest of the trip, when ever we found it!
We planned to go a nearby beach the next day but decided to skip that and explore the little town instead. Loved the town! Great shopping for gifts. Beautiful jewellery. We also dined the next evening at the Ikbal - also great food - a short walk to the other side of the town - with many restaurant staff tempting us to dine at their restaurant!
I have to mention that the intoxicating perfume in the air in the evening as one walks around town is from the jasmine growing in the local gardens!
A wonderful place for a holiday - a pity we were passing through!

I ended up staying an extra few days, and Hideaway was excellent. Ahmet and the staff were friendly, exceedingly helpful (including organising a boat trip out of season), and even supplied nice food when needed.

Kas itself is lovely, very relaxing, hence the extra time. It's a bit quiet for touring out of season, but the usual dolmuses are available of course.

Oh and the terrace is superb.

It's a while now since I stayed here, but it was one of the best times I have had in a hotel in all my travels and I want everyone to know. The proprietors are charming and very welcoming and helpful, the rooms are lovely (although not large!), and the rooftop terrace is sublime. As a weary traveller, It feels like you are arriving home. And we so enjoyed the evening barbecued fish on the terrace that we abandoned our plans to eat in town and just had dinner there all three nights we were in Kas. Ahmet also recommended hotels for us in Antalya and Goreme which were also great.

Just returned from a 10 day holiday in the Antalya region and spent the first three nights at the Hideaway. It is the nicest hotel I've stayed in as far as comfort and relaxation go. It feels like a stay with family friends and we wish we'd stayed there longer, but we were touring and wanted to go on from Kas to Olu Deniz and Pamakkule. Marie is lovely and welcoming, her husband was away so we didn't meet him. The bathrooms are state of the art and spotless - perfect. Definitely would love to go back for longer!

Room Tip: If you want a double bed ask they have them.

We researched many places in Kas and the Hideaway received great reviews..& they deserve all and more. What a great place to stay. We stayed 4 nights in kas & loved every minute. We had a twin share room..fresh, clean & comfortable with a small veranda/terrace. The bathroom was excellent lots of hot water & great water pressure. The owners Ahmet & Marie were efficient, friendly & very professional..yet the place had a lovely, relaxed atmosphere the other staff there were outstanding..Particularly Denis(z) I think.. she was amazing..hard working with a lovely approach to her hectic job. The food there was very good. We ate a BBQ dinner there and a few other meals that were delicious fresh and very well cooked. . The view from the rooftop terrace is simple amazing!..They have very good wifi connection on the terrace & have a lovely lounge area with a computer for the guests..which is also air-conditioned. We had a nice breeze and therefore aircon was not needed, but is there for the summer months. Wow what a place..We hired snorkelling gear from them for 5 TL which was of good quality, and they also organised our trip over to Meis the Greek Island 30 mins away..Always very helpful.. Its high up on the hill side hence we got fantastic views but if you have mobility problems you would have to take this into account. The Town of Kas is very beautiful & not to be missed. I would recommend the Hideaway to anyone visiting Kas..you will not be disappointed in any way. We were very happy with our stay there and have recommended family & friends to put it on top of their list when visiting Turkey.

Stayed for a week in October 2012 & had a sea view room, well worth the extra 10 T.L. (£3.50 a night) Views at the rear over open parkland, the sea and a roman ampetheatre, sun set and floodlit at night.
If you book through the hotel website for a week they offer a complimentary pick up from either Dalman or Anatalya airport, providing you book (and later pay) for the return (about £70) Be advised, Dalaman is the nearest airport, being a two hour drive compared with three hours from Anatalya. The oick up from the airport and the drive was flawless, if a little fast for my wife! Was warmly greated in the early hours with complementary snacks and wine by the owner, Ahmed who with his Belgian wife were a mine of information and help. This is a nineteen bedroomed boutique family run hotel. Rooms are modest, but modern with a/c and shower, but no safe. There is a small but clean pool. If you want 4/5 star facilities then this is not for you! The hotel operates a honesty bar and if no one is serving, you just help yourself and leave a note. Buffet style Breafasts are extensive & excellent, but if you want cooked hot omlets (no bacon!) fresh squeezed fruit juice or gormet coffee it is chargable, all added up and added (together with the return taxi fare and bar bills) to your final bill. There is a modest BBQ every night. We usualy hire a car, but you do not really need one as you can easily use the harbour ferries, the Dolomushes and taxi's. Ahmed offers a free trip every Wednesday to the 'big pebble' beach. There is a market every Friday. There are loads of first class restaurants and Kas is a little gourmet centre, particularly one side of the square. Everyone speaks English and there is a tradition of seeming unconcern about settling your bill.

Room Tip: You want a sea view. Safe is available at reception Free coffee and tea available at breakfast roo...
