“Good service, relaxed & enjoyable”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

Have stayed here a few times. Really relaxed & laid-back hotel. Good price at this time of year - especially if you download the voucher on 'trip advisor' Only problem we had was driving away.... Especially given the steep lane up to the main road.

Would not be good for disabled or infirm as it is set out over several floors, including lots and lots of stone steps. But very good if you are looking for a 'chill axing' few days away from work life.

Room Tip: Rooms V1 &V2 - small but facing out over the water - marvelous. We also tried one of the Villa...

We spent a very relaxing week at Hotel Barbarossa in August 2012. The food was a particular highlight, with huge variety of delicious and healthy salads and buffet dishes, as well as barbecued options at lunch and dinner. Normally by the end of a week in a hotel I have got a bit bored of the food, but I can honestly say the food was so fantastic I loved every meal. There was a constant supply of fresh Turkish bread being made all the time, wonderful baba ghanoush, and so many different things to choose from.

We loved all the huge cushions and gazebos down on the waterfront - there was never a problem finding space even when the hotel was full, and indeed you never feel like the hotel is full as there is a lot of space for people to spread out down by the sea. There is a small children's pool by the sea, which our 5 year old splashed about in for hours and we could sit nearby and read a book. The main pool is on the level above, as the hotel is on the side of a hill. We found that there was hardly anyone in the main pool or sitting around it, so when our children decided to hold the Barbarossa Olympics in the pool we didn't feel like we were disturbing anyone.

Lunch is laid out near the waterfront, whereas dinner is on the terrace overlooking the pool. The waiters were very attentive at bringing drinks etc, and moving chairs around to accommodate our group. In the evening it is lovely to have cocktails at the bar overlooking the water, and in the day I had some great iced coffee tehre.

We were very pleased with our room, which was actually a suite of 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, so our 3 children fitted comfortably in one bedroom, and we were in the other. So often we are crammed in with our children, or family rooms don't fit 3 children, so that was a real plus too.

There is no beach, which is the same for the whole coastline near there, but the hotel has wooden jetties with lots of sets of pool steps going down into the water, so it doesn't matter at all. In fact it was quite nice not having sand! There are so many comfortable places to sit you can spend the whole day just relaxing in and out of the water. As well as sun loungers there are tons of huge cushions, sunshades and beautiful gazebos. Our children spend hours kayaking and swimming out to a large inflatable that was moored up, and it was easy to keep an eye on them.

We did one day trip out to a gorge that great, and on the trip we also stopped at a place where we all bathed in mud and did a full body mud cover. The older children floated down the river on tyres on that trip too, in a stunning setting. We also went into to Kas for one evening, which is a nice place to wander around, have an icecream, baklava, buy some Turkish bathtowels, souvenirs for the children.

There was a lady doing massages in an area near the water, and I heard she was very good, but I didn't have one myself,

I would highly recommend Hotel Barbarossa. It has the personal feel of a family run hotel and very friendly staff, but the food and facilities were excellent. We met some Canadians who come to Turkey every summer and said it was their favourite hotel.

Room Tip: For a family ask for a suite of 2 rooms. I think ours was number 13.

We stayed for 2 weeks in September and enjoyed our holiday very much.We had booked B&B so that we could eat in Kas in the evenings but the buffet food was so very nice and the setting beautiful overlooking the pool, sea and mountains that most evenings we ate at Barbarossa .The atmosphere is friendly, informal and relaxing with a nice selection of background music. The breakfasts were also most enjoyable, the bed comfortable and the sea easily accessible and the setting stunning. We have very fond memories and hope to return.

This is a great play to stay in this beautiful area of Turkey. Everything is done for you to enjoy total relaxation.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful even though their English is pretty approximative, the food amazing, the masseuse fantastic and the settings beautiful.
The kids and us loved the huge color cushions and canopies along the waterfront. Great spot!
The only down point was the food & drinks bill at the end of our stay. We don't think it was deliberate mistakes, but we had to ask them to remove a few drinks that we were sure were not ours. Better check the drinks regularly from the reception (as they recommend in fact) to avoid the unpleasant surprise at check out.

I am a tour guide and has been here in Kas a few times but could get a chance to enjoy it on my honeymoon with a suite room upgraded with availability. The room was so clean and well decorated. The restaurant has a great service with different choices every night for dinners and even has its own bakery for fresh breads :-) I highly recommend this hotel for those who likes to keep it away from the touristic crowds and get to historical sites when you would like to. Kas itself is a great place for diving, sea kayaking and hiking around the Lycian Way. Special thanks to team who made it best in between the whole trip on our honeymoon.

On 21 august we arrived in Antalya airpot and drived 3 hours Kas which is a quite small city
Hotel car parking is free but limited few spots, we stayed in the hotel for 5 days and it was the best in every things. The weather is good for swiming during the day and nice breeze at night. We pick up a dulex room with sea view, the room and bath is clean. Hotel stuff was nice and they want you to enjoy your staying, the food was excellent. If you looking for relaxaing time this is the place to go.

Room Tip: Must choose sea view room

I had a wonderful holiday at Club Barbarossa, I went with my daughter (12years) leaving my son and husband at home!! We wanted to relax, swim, sunbathe eat good food and generally have fun. All of our expectations were met, the staff at Barbarossa were lovely, so friendly, they got to know our names, were genuinely interested in us and our well being. The hotel is situated in the most picturesque area, the sea is crystal clear and the hotel provided floats, flippers, snorkels there were even canoes which we used. The facilities were of a very high standard - the bed was soo comfy and the room was clean and very big. We had the room at the top of the building with a balcony and view over the sea - gorgeous!! The food is amazing - all organic, healthy and exceptionally well cooked. We went on 2 excursions - which I would highly recommend. Saklikent and Sakova...... I would recommend this holiday destination. Thank you for looking after us and making our holiday so memorable.....
