We loved look of this beach but didn't fancy the very steep fire-escape type steps down to it - or more importantly the very steep hundreds of steps back up to the road!

This is a very nice beach, easy to find on the D400. We enjoyed a lot, we took a lot of pictures and we stayed a couple of hours there.

We passed this beach on our drive from Kas to Patara. When I looked the beach up in our Lonley Planet travel guide I realized it was on the cover of the book! After a steep decent down the stone stairways I felt like I had finally found paradise. A couple rents lounge chairs for next to nothing and a family served cold drinks, fresh pomegranates and even cooked gozleme. The water was perfect and you can even jump from the rocks into the water. Such a perfect day. No trip to the Turkish coast is complete without a stop here. Kaputas is much better than the Patara beach which is touristy, crowded and not that special.

Just out side Kalkan in a secluded bay. To get to the beach there are a number of steps that lead to a stoney/sandy beach. The beach is picturesque with over hanging cliffs to the rear and side. The water is October was Warmer than the villa pool and was crystal clear. The beach can have an undercurrent so be careful with younger children. Local sellers offering pancakes, beer , cold drinks and corn on the cob give a real local twist. The beach is a must to all travellers to Kalkan and Kas.
