“Amazing view”

Fantastic view from second floor and higher. Manager, Faizan, is very helpful and friendly but not pushy. Best breakfasts we had in Turkey. Wonderful location. I felt like I was having a holiday from having a holiday in Kas! Only downside is that the hot water was not hot enough most days... Solar?

Room Tip: Go second floor or higher. There is a lift

This is a long-overdue review of the Hotel Kayahan, where we stayed for several days in October 2012 – a big apology to all at the hotel for not writing to praise them sooner!
This is a terrific hotel, with comfy rooms, a great location - the views from the terrace restaurant towards Meis are superb - and a really warm welcome. The rooms are clean and spacious, the hot water is constant, the beds are lovely, and the food is brilliant - no idea how they manage to turn out such a wonderful evening meal for just 20TL, including fresh fish and mouth-watering meze, but nowhere else in Kas can compete with it.
It's the staff that really make a place and everyone at the Kayahan goes above and beyond to help guests – dropping us off at the bus station was a lovely touch, thank you! This is true Turkish hospitality, worth its weight in gold, and any time in the future we visit Kas, we will definitely stay at the Kayahan.

Room Tip: Worth paying a bit extra for a room at the front with a sea view.

We were arriving around 7pm but the owner started calling my cell phone in the afternoon concerned about us showing up and finding them. Once we were in town, I answered the call finally thinking there was something wrong but he just wanted to know if he should walk out and meet us and help guide us up to the hotel. We were driving around the lower street parallet to the water and eventually figured out we need to be one street up the hill, behind the first set of hotels on the water. It was a tight street to maneuver through, and my husband found parking way at the end. The owners were very hospitable and welcoming. The woman (wife?) showed us a map of the town and pointed out all the places we could walk to and see. Our room with sea view was on the second floor so it was a partially obstructed view, and which we can only compare because we saw the rooftop view. The furnishings were pretty outdated but worth the unbelievably low price. The best feature is the rooftop terrace for breakfast with sweeping views over the sea. It's also a short 3min walk down to the water to swim. They said we could use the lounge chairs and say we were staying at Kayahan, but there was a confusing system of using the chairs for free anyways if you purchased a certain amount in drinks. They did let us borrow towels which was nice and the hotel pool was also refreshing and clean. The restaurants, nightlife, shopping were all a 5min walk away, which was nice to be just out of earshot of all the noise. One of the best value hotels I've ever stayed- the price for the view and location was unbeatable.

Our party of 8 had written confirmations for 'Sea View' rooms, but on arrival found ourselves at the back of the hotel overlooking a building site. On speaking to the manager, we were told our 'Sea View' bookings were never confirmed - which was totally untrue as our travel agent showed us the emailed confirmations - the manager simply dismissed our inquiries suggesting there was nothing she could do as the Hotel was fully booked.
As our travel agent had paid for our accommodation (for 4 nights) to carry on was to simply spoil our holiday, but we were really annoyed that the hotel owners/staff simply didn't give a 'stuff' about us as there really was nothing we could do.
Another party of friends followed our trip 2 weeks later and had the same experience, so it appears the hotels 'Sea View' rooms are always available to the highest bidder, not to those who make the first booking.

Room Tip: Suggest you pay a minimum deposit that you are prepared to forfeit if you booking is not honored. I...

We came to this place intending to stay for only a couple of days, but ended up basing ourselves here for a week. The price (low season, October) was very good for the standard of the place, we had a room with a balcony and a small but reasonable bathroom. The restaurant/breakfast area on the top floor has a fantastic view over the harbour and serves tasty food. The family management of the place goes out of their way for guests, being very helpful to organise activities as well as always friendly. Overall, a place that felt like home in a beautiful city, and we'd love to return some day.

we appreciated the kindness of the employees and the terrace views overlooking the Greek island of Kastelorizo, better known as Meis, across........most disturbingly, the room we stayed in smelled very badly-a horrific smell. the balcony was insufficient. We were quite disappointed after having stayed in a similar hotel (price-) category with much higher standards in Fethiye for example.
plus the heat was unbearable and since the hotel is located uphill it was at times a real torture to climb. they can certainly do better than that.

We spent only one night but we liked this hotel a lot. Very easy to find, very close to the beaches (platforms) the staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean the rooms are basic but very confy the bathroom has a hair dryer and there is a small TV, a small balcony. The food in the restaurant is good, but that night was very cold, and the wind was passing through the roofed terrace so this was not a relaxing meal. Other than that not a complaint we left satisfied and wished we could have stayed a little more.
