Peninsula Gardens Hotel
Ranked #17 of 48 Hotels in Kas
Certificate of Excellence

We spent 5 days in Peninsula Gardens. From the web page, the hotel promises a paradise and he rates make you think that they are really good. Actually, the only good specialty of the place is well decorated rooms. Having said that, we stayed in CORAL room. It was a nice room but had a very small wardrobe which may create problem as well if you are not traveling light.
Apart from the room, the sea is unfortunately not so clean. Every time of the day we observed foam and dirt. The hotel explained that these are caused by the harbour nearby. It is a pity as there are beaches with blue flag within Kas and we expected a similar bay for this hotel as well.
The breakfast is very ordinary, far from our expectation from a specialty hotel. The dinner and lunch menus are better but not with a great variety of dishes.
There are suprising rules like "breakfast is served until 10.30" as if this place is a city hotel. The personnel tries to defend the rules of the hotel at first but after some talk they try to fix whatever the problem is. While I give credit to their efforts, I have to admit that we had many unnecessary talks to have a decent holiday.

We have just returned from a week at the Peninsula Gardens and can say that we had a wonderful time.

I am a particular person and generally find a few faults wherever we go but the biggest complaint at this hotel was the battery needed changing in the remote for the superb iPod player. As most other visitors say, the staff were pleasant and helpful and even on Sunday evening when we found an error in our departure times they called the Rep who sorted things out in two minutes from home.

I was a bit worried about prices but was pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel prices were similar to the UK. The town was even cheaper. The hotel has a minibus which promptly departs at 19:30 each evening to take guests to town if they fancy a change. We went on several occasions and found the experience delightful.

Kas is a family friendly town with many restaurants with excellent fish menus at low prices.

Guests must take the trip on the Gulet (boat) as it was a good way to get to meet other guests and the Captain cooks a smashing lunch.

We never go back to the same place twice but this time we may break our rule and return again, thank you for a lovely holiday.

We returned from Kas a few days ago. We were overwhelmed by the whole positive experience of our 14 day stay at Peninsula Gardens. We were a bit shocked to read the previous review but that related to last year and , if the hotel had teething problems (last year was its first season), then they have all been ironed out. The whole experience from the initial welcome right through to our departure was special. We stayed in Topaz - wonderful. The hotel staff could not have been more accomodating and Bilal (?spelling) ran the bar and restaurant service with impecable professionalism and always a smile. 14 days of smiling by them and by us.
The Elixir staff were brilliant and special mention for Melek - Oh happy days. You can't please all the people all of the time but we were pleased for all of our fortnight.
We shall return later this year

We recently enjoyed 10 glorious days at Peninsula Gardens Hotel, at the start of the season in the hotel's 2nd year of operation. Lucky for us, because clearly some of the teething issues experienced by previous guests was taken on board, and efforts invested to improve and offer a faultless service.

On our arrival, we were welcomed by 4 Elixir holiday reps, and there was always someone available throughout our stay, to answer questions or just check on how we were doing. We found all the staff attentive, eager to help and a pleasure to be around.

We splashed out on the Jade suite to celebrate our 10th anniversary. A light, airy and incredibly spacious room with an equally spacious private deck and splash pool. It was all so inviting, that we hardly wanted to leave the room.

The new breakfast area is a tranquil haven. We enjoyed sumptious breakfasts overlooking the mesmering turqoise Med sea - bliss. The food selection was fantastic, all the usual eggs, cold meats, fruits etc but we particularly enjoyed the Turkish twist: fresh figs, honeycomb, nuts and Turkish delight.

Thanks to a stunning location, breathtaking views, fantastic service delivered by faultless staff, delicious food, and an amazing day out on the gulet, we returned home relaxed, refreshed and already planning our next visit.

I'd like to commend Elixir Holidays for taking on board the feedback provided by previous guests: it was very clear to us that a lot of effort had gone into resolving the service issues. Leading up to our visit, I read all the previous reviews, and I was apprehensive. Thankfully my fears proved completely unfounded - we could not have asked for a more perfect holiday, nore felt more welcome. Hope to see you again soon!

Room Tip: Jade is the most spacious room, with a large private deck.

This is undoubtedly the best hotel we have ever stayed in and have recommended it to all our friends. We could not fault anything. The food was excellent, service was amazing, the hotel staff could not do enough to please. Our room was spectacular.

We enjoyed one day on a gullet (boat trip arranged by the hotel) which included lunch and had plenty of opportunities to dive into the warm clear blue sea.

We had a turkish bath and a massage in the Spa, both of which we would recommend. The yoga and pilates class held in the Spa were good fun.
There is a gym upstairs, which although small was big enough while on holiday!

We had one day in a Cabana, relaxing, and one day touring in a Land Rover to see the Xanthos city ruins, the gorge in Saklikent, Patara and Kalkan, again arranged by the hotel. This trip was worth making, although it was very hot when we went.

There is a shuttle service to and from Kas three times a day at the moment, possibly more in the height of the season.

We managed to fit an awful lot into a week's stay but still managed to have a relaxing holiday. Will definately revisit in the future and have no hesitation in recommending!

I share the comments completely with mr b's reviews. Visited this hotel last summer and now me and my husband can finally admit to one another that it was the worse holiday we have ever experienced.

The holiday was a treat for us both as we had been very stressed out with work and wanted a flop and drop holiday. The suites are not suites, just long narrow rooms which are dark. There is little lighting around the wardrobe area which is not helpful. We ordered room service a number of times, it was never actually what we ordered or complete.

The bar and pool area is beautiful and the boat trip fantastic, we did this twice - the second time as a private tour and it was excellent.

Food in the restaurant is average- not ideal when you have no intention of leaving the hotel, tinned fruit on a salad is not what your would expect from so called 5 star. Breakfast room appeared or looked liked spare room which no one knew what to do with it, very dark and low ceilings. Breakfast food was ok but chips and pizza??? We did wonder if these were left overs from the night before...?

Hotel management is no exisitant, elixir rep promised a number of things which the hotel could not deliver, when raising our dissatisfaction the attitude of the rep was not professional. Bar and restaurant staff were very nice.

So there are good and bad points but the good points are at least what you expect form a 5 star hotel.

A very disappointing stay and a missed opportunity by the hotel.

Elixir Holidays currently have guests staying at the Peninsula Gardens Hotel on their iPads reading the latest review of the hotel that Ms Penney posted. We have been informed by them that had they read this review before they booked, they would have never done so and would have thoroughly regretted it as they are having such a great time.

Now, we are aware that many people like to have independent minds and will use their own judgment to balance out positive and negative reviews in order to decide whether or not to go ahead and book this holiday anyway. On balance, the independent thinker does, but, when confronted by someone genuinely unkind in their opinions such as Ms Penny, the strongest person can be swayed, so to what end has this delayed complaint been made?

Having a great holiday at the Peninsula Gardens is what many did last year and 2012 has started with a bang. Every new establishment tends to have teething problems and changes have been made to staff, management, the breakfast area and guests’ activities. Cabanas with butler service have been added, a fixed pier has been built and a swimming platform for those wanting to be truly alone has been placed in the sea at the end of the swimming platform.

This review at the beginning of a new season surely is meant to do more harm than good? Constructive criticism is one thing but how can we offer remedies almost a year later when we have been given no opportunity to ameliorate the original situation? We at Elixir Holidays strive to offer the highest quality service to our guests and yet, we were never given any opportunity here. Despite the raving reviews that we have had from very satisfied guests, this will forever genuinely mar and colour the views of future guests.

We are very disappointed that the Penneys did not see fit to call our offices to mention any of the difficulties they appeared to have been having and yet, have now issued a scathing review nearly a year later. We still offer the delightful weekly boat trips and dinners for special occasions. Kas is also the diving capital of the region with a plethora of diving schools, sky diving and many more water sports which can be organised with our local staff. It is also one of the top locations for history buffs, those interested in unique shopping boutiques and lovely restaurants.

Food in the restaurant is super and is ideal if you have no intention of leaving the hotel. Tinned fruit is far more expensive than the fresh variety which is simply more plentiful and would never be found on the menu anywhere that we are aware of moreover in Kas in Turkey. The newly built breakfast room is vast with a diverse number of European and Turkish cold meats, a variety of cheeses, jams, breads, cereals and eggs.

It would be useful to know what the Elixir rep promised, as it’s now almost impossible to confirm such a conversation due to the passage of time.

We understand, however, that these guests may have got into an argument with someone at the spa (not an Elixir staff member), and an otherwise delightful holiday was marred by this experience. Without the Pennys confirmation to us, it’s very difficult to clarify the facts.

On balance, we genuinely hope that potential guests will read between the lines on this one and question the veracity of a review given so far from the actual date of the holiday.

This hotel is phenomenal. I cannot fault one single thing. It's beautiful. The rooms are spectacular. We stayed in platinum and it's the best room by far. Our own pool an terrace balcony. The food is divine. The service is impeccable - everyone was so friendly and bent over backwards to help with anything and everything. Kas is amazing - much nicer than kalkan. The free boat trip was an experience never to be forgotten - the day was perfect. We are going back this year - and we never go back to anywhere!!! But this cannot be topped. Perfect weather, perfect hotel, perfect food. Bliss. :D
