“Fabulous Food”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

Nothing is too much trouble for chef Fikri. When one of our party asked about some people picking herbs from the rocks that afternoon - he went straight out and within minutes the " sea grass" was adorning our plates. The best restaurant for miles ! Dining on the terrace in good weather is a must. A fresh fish request materialised in a monster which kept us all going for 2 days. Absolutely delicious. Never tasted fish like it ! 5 stars*****

“Our favourite restaurant”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

When on holiday we tend to like to go out and about to different restaurants but not so when we are staying at the Cachet Hotel. Fikri is an inspired chef who not only cooks wonderful food on the menu but if given 24 hours notice will cook any requested dish. He cooked a simply wonderful Paella at our request. He uses all local ingredients and his use of local herbs and spices is inspired. Food definitely worthy of a Michelin star!!

“Flavoursome food .. but a few knocks”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

We headed to Manzarra because of its number 1 ranking and also because we were staying on the peninsula and it was sort of nearby. The first issue that so many places on the peninsula have to contend with is awkward access. These hotels and restaurants are literally down very, very steep paths and driveways so, from the road, my wife struggled with the steep grade. Lucky she was only in flats and not heels.

We were one of three couples dining so atmosphere was initially a bit thwarted - but someone eventually got some music happening and that helped.

They were the main knocks. But on the positive side , the menu had some variety that, for reasons we don't understand, just seems to elude so many Turkish restaurants. We shared some garlic prawns that were full of a spicy smokey flavour but not garlic - they were good. For mains, we both had different chicken dishes and they were packed with flavour - but were let down a little by being served with only rice and a tiny garnish - a serve of some steamed vegetables maybe????

We should also mention the staff - the friendly chef greeted us on arrival; the manager regularly visited each table to check and chat; and two young waiters were a lot of fun with a few jokes and light humour.

To sum up, very tasty food but accessibility problems and a lack of atmosphere leave us in some doubt about the overall number 1 ranking

“Top food, fantastic hosts. With a birthday surprise!”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

My partner and I ate at Manzara for his birthday earlier this month. The service was fantastic, with a lovely personal touch, and the food was absolutely delicious! The wine menu (local wines, with great descriptions for those not familiar with the Turkish regions or grapes) was super too.

To finish off a great evening, the owner and staff had arranged a cake for my other half's birthday, and had even told the rest of the guest his name so all could sing along! (And the cake was amazing!!)

Finally, the view from this place is spectacular. I can't recommend Mazara highly enough. Certainly the best place that we ate at in Turkey!

“Why look elsewhere?”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

We were staying in the hotel so would ordinarily NOT eat in the hotel restaurant preferring to go out and about and try the local Kas restaurants. We surprised ourselves by dining in the restaurant 4 nights out of 7.

One night we knew the chef had "acquired" a local fish specially for us. Another evening, always a Thursday, there is a spectacular Moussaka special. The chef has been with Manzara for 4 years, having learned his trade in top Turkish hotels before settling with the happy team Hotel Cachet. If you want something varied from the menu, all you do is ask and it will be yours. If you are staying in a self catering on the Kas peninsula why not just take a walk up to Manzara at Hotel Cachet for value for money, dreamlike terrace and a real quality meal. I think you'll find yourselves hooked!!
