I really can't understand the previous two reviews for this restaurant/beach.
I returned from Kas yesterday and went there 4 times, I visit Kas often and had not been there before. I do not really like the concrete platforms and generally to one of the nearby beaches. However if you want to stay close to town then the Elit 'beach' and restaurant is fine, it is very convenient especially if you don't want to be at the beach all day.
As with many beach restaurants the menu is very simple but we found the food well prepared and excellent value. Very good salads and sigara borek. I didn't try the sandwiches or burgers (why when in Turkey?) so can't comment. The beer was cold - served in glasses straight from the freezer.
The young lad who runs it was very cheerful and helpful, we found the service quick and could not fault it.
It is easy to get in to the sea and the swimming/snorkelling was fine but the water can get a bit choppy on windy days - however this would be the same at any beach.
Judging by some of the conversations that I overheard, the Elit is obviously quite a popular place, many people seem to go there every day or are very regular visitors.
I suggest that people try it. If you don't like it then fine you don't have to go back. But I have been to Kas perhaps 20 times in the last 6 years and can be fussy about where I eat and spend my time. I had not been to the Elit before my latest holiday but I will definitely go again.
It is difficult to rate this beach/cafe in comparision with other restaurants in Kas. It should be borne in mind that it is essentially a beach bar not a full restuarant - but as such it does the job very nicely. I would not expect it to score highly in terms of 'atmosphere'
