We have had 2 glorious weeks at the Hotel Asiyan and are hoping to be back next year. The staff are fantastic - friendly and helpful with nothing too much trouble. The Breakfast buffet is fresh and well presented with selection suitable for most tastes. Lunches there are simple but delicious.

There are good local restaurants so you don't even have to venture down into town to sample some excellent local food at reasonable prices - meals in town are more expensive and the walk home can be hot and sweaty!

We have been to Turkey before but this is a real find. Comfortable, beautifully clean with a good location. Overall a most relaxing holiday

After having Kalkan recommended to us we then started searching and came across trip advisor comments for this small hotel. We booked after reading great comments and we were not disapointed. Quiet, small, friendly staff who cannot do enough for you, room ideal we had a suite - dont get too excited this was a bedroom with a small sitting area but the extra space was worth it and the cost was not too much more. 5 out of 7 days we had lunch on the terrace and the salads were perfect and good sized portions. Try the local homemade lemonade - to die for and sooooo refreshing.

Omar is a cheeky chappie behind the bar always with a smile on his face, and Zo could never do enough for you. The owners greeted you each morning at breakfast and gave you little treats throughout the week - a surprise and pleasure, homemade chocolate cake with sauce one afternoon by the pool, a crepe for breakfast on another day.

The walk to the marina is about 5 - 10 minutes depending on how quick you walk, however if you do have walking problems maybe this is not for you as it has a steep climb back up, good for walking off all the lovely meals that are on offer down in the marina.

Everyone should stay here although in a way I don't want to recommend it because I don't want it fully booked before I can book next year!

Finally thank you Asiyan Hotel for making our holiday so perfect - we will be back.

Room Tip: Book a suite if you like a little bit of extra room

This is a v friendly family owned 12 room hotel. It is not right on the sea and has partial sea views from the bedrooms, but is very well located for Kalkan's excellent restaurants and shops towards the beach and harbour, 5-6 mins walk (where you can get free boats to numerous beach clubs on the bay - you pay a 10-15 TL fee per lounger). Some restaurants or beach clubs just out of town will pay your taxi fare each way and collect you (the hotel will arrange).

The hotel sits in a beautiful and quiet garden with a good size swimming pool - great for lengths - with comfortable wooden loungers, large sun umbrellas and a massive hammock in the shade. The lobby has plenty of up to date magazines and books.

Buffet breakfasts are very good, and you can order simple lunches. Drinks like homemade lemon juice, wine, beer and cocktails are available all day from the poolside bar. Some days the owners produced cakes or ice-cream for everyone around the pool at tea-time, or Turkish treats at breakfast.

The rooms are very clean and beds extremely comfortable, although the shower rooms are small. The weekly Thursday market is 5 mins from the hotel, as are banks and a good supermarket Kartin. This hotel is hard to fault and should be 4*.

Room Tip: Pay the little extra for a suite

This was our 5th visit to Kalkan and our 2nd to the Asiyan Hotel.
If you are reading this you are either booked in to visit or thinking about it. I its the former, congratulations you have made an excellent choice. If its the latter, stop thinking and get it booked.
In an age where value maters more than ever you cannot go wrong with this hotel. The staff are wonderful and have that added ability to engage with you when you wish or leave you alone if that is your preference.
For the price (£65/room/night) the suites are ridiculous value given what you get elsewhere in europe and at home. OK, the bathrooms are small but how many people need to use it at any one time?
The pool area and external space is wonderful. The sun beds, of which there are always enough are wooden with mattresses rather than cheap plastic types. There are trees in the garden where shade can be found. The pool is large and never crowded.
I have been to more expensive hotels in Kalkan that are not as good as this one and I have every confidence that should you choose this hotel then you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Book a suite

Just returned from our first visit to Turkey and we couldn't have picked a better place. Centrally located in Kalkan close to all the restaurants, bars, shops and amenities. Everyone at the Asiyan Hotel made us feel welcome and relaxed from day one. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners or the staff who gave us a most memorable holiday in a lovely setting. We booked a suite which was very comfortable and clean. Breakfasts and lunches are well prepared and tasty. The pool bar, staffed bar Omar - who was great fun and has a lovely character - is ideal for an evening drink before heading out into the town. Well worth a visit and somewhere we will be going back to very soon.

Room Tip: A suite gives you express space and wardrobes to spread out.

My partner and I stayed at the Asiyan after several friends had advised us to visit Kalkan. We were both a little unsure at first but the team there were so friendly and the holiday was so peaceful that we both came back relaxed and rested.

The quiet of the location was a plus and whilst the hotel caters to young kids, the two who were there were a delight, as were all the guests. I suppose that's just luck, though. At breakfast we would all catch up on where we had been the night before, ahead of another busy day lying by the side of the swimming pool.

The pool was just big enough to swim proper lengths, which was great for me as I am a regular swimmer and there was by chance, a gym just behind the hotel. The garden was filled with a beautiful mix of flowers, shrubs and trees and I idled some time away painting.

The room – a standard double – was quite small but to be honest we didn’t really spend any time in there as the weather was so lovely. The hotel provides a lunch menu but we preferred visiting the various restaurants in the area. Perhaps most importantly for some, the hotel is very close to the main village, where there are a host of very, VERY good restaurants to choose from.

We are already planning a return visit later this year. I would thoroughly recommend the Asiyan to anyone considering a holiday in Kalkan.

Room Tip: Our room didn't have much of a view but we didn't really care.

We stayed at Hotel Asiyan for a long weekend about 3 weeks ago, and our only complaint was that it wasn't long enough. The hotel is standard accommodation for Turkey (don't expect brand new stuff!) or in my mother's words, "quaint." The accommodations are also warm, sufficient, and available at a price you can't beat for having a gorgeous view of the Mediterranean in this sleepy little hard-to-reach town. The pool and surrounding garden are sufficient for really relaxing and small enough to get to know your fellow guests. The kids played together. The staff was really lovely - our 1-year-old son played peek-a-boo and enjoyed strolling around with them. The owner (I can't remember names right now but I can barely remember my own name some days) even gave us a sweater her son wore when he was little with a little evil eye on it to protect our cute little guy. And breakfast is a 5-star way to start out the day. Can't ask for much more!
