What a wonderful place, the view is fantastic you could not wish for better.
The rooms were clean and comfortable we had the Duplex room so this gave us a private balcony and a terrace. There is a small fridge in the rooms very useful when we had 35 deg days in May!
The Guest Relations Manage r(Serkan SAPMAZTURK) of the hotel is one of the best I have ever come across nothing is to much for him and he ensures that everyone is happy, comfortable and speaks very good English.
The staff are really good and help has much as they can be, however they can't speak English, "we are in Turkey"!! really good fun trying to explain what we wanted.
Down side of the hotel for anyone with a walking problem there are lots of hills but the hotel has a car that they run their guests around to the town or down to the beach club where you will find sun beds free for the Kalamar guests.
I will be going back but I will be hiring a car.

Just spent a week at the Kalamar Hotel in a suite room which is a lot more spacious than the standard. The hotel is a short walk from town but well worth it for the fabulous views. Any information you want Serkan (Guest Relations Manager) will get it for you, extremely friendly & helpful as are all the staff. Breakfast thoroughly enjoyable & plenty of it. The Beach Club is great too. We would definitely stay there again & Kalkan is beautiful with lots of lovely roof terrace restaurants- we favoured the Nar Terrace Restaurant & Bar - food was brilliant as were staff, particularly Rami (waiter) & Hakan. Such a friendly, enjoyable and relaxing hotel. I recommend paying extra to upgrade, just for that extra bit of comfort, but in all you can't fault this hotel and the staff.
The Beach Club is fantastic and a real draw for the hotel. It more than makes up for the fact you need to pay for a cab to get home from town at the end of the night. (a shuttle bus will take you in and bring you back if you want...but you may stay out a bit late for the return journey).
Fantastic views too.

Room Tip: Definitely upgrade from their basic room. Whilst not bad and very clean, the extra comfort is worth...

Have stayed at the Kalamar 3 times now. Perfect location. A little bit out of Kalkan but there is a shuttle bus at certain times of the day. Didn't use the beach club because I travelled with my 80 year old mother and she would have had trouble swimming so we stayed round the pool. Breakfast is served on a terrace with the most beautiful views. Staff were friendly and helpful as always. We always book a suite because the standard rooms are quite small. Looking forward to going back next year.

Room Tip: The standard rooms are very small so would be a good idea to book a suite or a duplex.

A perfect location for a relaxing holiday, the Kalamar has spectacular views and is very quiet. This was our 2nd visit to this hotel and the staff were friendly and extremely helpful (especially as we were unable to contact out Rep throughout the holiday!) Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed the use of the beach club. The sea was warm with thousands of fish: perfect for a day snorkeling. The cafe at the beach club was not overpriced and the salads were enormous. However, the heat and the steep climb made us appreciate the shuttle bus back to the hotel .
This is a perfect hotel for people who want to simply relax and enjoy the stunning scenery.
Just one suggestion: although we hardly used it, the pool was freezing because it never got the sun. What about creating an infinity pool on the tennis court?

Room Tip: The twin rooms are very small but the duplex and suite rooms are excellent, with plenty of space and...

Just returned from the most fantastic week staying at the kalamar hotel. It was simply perfect. The location is to die for. I would go again in a heartbeat. The hotel staff were lovely, breakfast good. The only suggestion for improvement is to make the bar area more appealing. That would encourage residents to stay there for a drink. The beach club is fabulous.

Room Tip: If you have any trouble walking go for a room on reception level as there are lots of steps.....i me...

The Kalamar is an charming white traditional style hotel laid out on a series of terraces set on a promontory between Kalkan and Kalamar bays with stunning views all round. It's only a half hour walk (5 min taxi) from Kalkan centre, yet is one of the quietest places I've ever stayed - no traffic noise, not one plane, not even a jet trail in an entire week - ideal for those looking for peace and tranquillity. The breakfast terrace and bar area are at the top of the hotel, with wraparound views. The pool is small, good for a refreshing dip rather than serious length-bashing, but the hotel own the Kalamar Beach Club, a five minute walk, beautiful but steepish, down through olive/pomegranate groves (there are regular shuttles to take you back up) - which is free for residents, with a cafe, plenty of loungers and shaded chill-out areas on the jetty - and a pristine turquoise sea (enter via stepladder), great for snorkelling (check out the parrot fish). My only caveat is that because of the terraced layout, and the fact there is no lift, this is not a hotel for people with mobility problems. Also, it is worth paying a bit more for duplex, suite or corner rooms as they have their own balconies/terraces, hence are a bit lighter and have more space. Many thanks to Serkan and his staff who were always helpful and cheerful.
