“Amazing hotel staff made the holiday unforgettable”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2011

I would like to say how fabulous the hotel manager Egerman is. He introduced himself as soon as we arrived, and nothing was too much trouble for him, he served us breakfast personally every morning, eggs, cereals, fruits. Lots to choose from. The staff made the holiday for us and must say Sesai the bar manager is thd most funny and entertaining man, drinks cost slightly more than going into town, but the atmosphere makes up for it.

The standard room is tiny, but hey I didn't go on holiday to sit in a hotel room.

We really enjoyed the BBQ. Egerman explained what all the mezes were as it was all new to us. All the guests met and mingled and was great fun

on our last day all the staff came to say goodbye. And again Egerman gave hugs and kisses and hoped we'd visit him again next year, and I think I just might

if you want a quiet, friendly hotel where you feel welcome, safe and relax, I would recommend the Elixir

Our deluxe roof room was large and spacious with great views from the balcony. The pool was lovely with great shaded seating areas with cushions around as well as plenty of sunbeds. Breakfast was plentiful and you could have eggs cooked however you chose. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, particularly Egeman the manager and Cesare the barman. Although I don't normally go to the same place on holiday twice I would be very tempted to return to the Elixir.

We booked a deluxe room at the Elixir and I have to say it was fabulous 2 balconies a large seating area windows overlooking the pool, better than we imagined but the room was situated right over the bar and the noise especially in the evening was dreadful. We put up with it on the first evening thinking it may be a one off but the second evening was even worse, when people are on top note singing "high ho silver lining" at 1am it is not a joke. We came to the Elixir for some R & R and it was anything but. We complained to the manager Egerman who I have to say was a lovely man and couldn't do enough for his guests he was there first thing in the morning and still there at 1am. He moved us to another room which was much quieter allbeit it a downgrade. The hotel is as it looks online but be warned all the deluxe rooms are in the vicinity of the bar area. It is a shame a lovely hotel spolit by the position of the bar. I would return to Kalkan but unfortuanately not to this hotel. But 10 out of 10 for the Manager Egerman.

This is the 2nd year we have stayed at this small, friendly hotel and we are thinking of returning next year. The staff are warm and friendly and are headed by a hard working manager called Egermont who tends to all his guests personally and for which nothing is too much trouble.
The hotel is situation in a quiet part, 20 mins [walk] from the charming town centre. We wanted a pool side holiday to unwind and relax and this is attainable on the whole. This is a hotel which has it right by 90%. The contentious 10% comes down to what seems to be a blight wherever you stay these days and that is music! Music too loud and too often.
In the mornings you can get at least 2 hours of no music and with the peacefulness of the surrounding area, this is pure bliss. But the poolside bar cranks up it's music at about 11 with a dirge of pop/classical which drones on till 2ish when, given the mood of the barman, you have no option but to listen to 70's or 80's rock and pop continually. If he likes a track, he will turn the volume up and sometimes it stays up. Not objectionably high but just enough to get on your nerves if you want to doze or read.
As last year, this year there were 2 evenings where it was incredibly loud and unacceptable as one evening it went on till 2am and 1am on another. We realise that this is part of the holiday for some people but not everyone and after we complained a couple of times along with a few others, it did settle down just after midnight.
It's such a shame as a hotel of this size simple cannot sustain really loud music which permeates everyones room.
Other than this, which can interrupt your sleep and therefore spoil a little bit of your holiday, I would rate this hotel highly.

This is a great small hotel that provides a 5 star service.

There is a bbq night every Thursday which was great fun and Sezai behind the bar makes the best mojitos and margaritas!

We had a lovely holiday and would most definitely recommend this hotel!

The Elixir has a lovely feel with a nice pool with sunbeds etc but also lots of shady places to sit under trees etc. The staff is exceptionally friendly; the barman is extremely funny and makes every guest feel welcome and at ease, a true professional.
The hotel is not in central Kalkan, but that is a good thing, although the walk into town is quite steep and takes about 15 minutes. A taxi is cheap though and very easy to arrange.
The rooms are adequate and clean, but not very large and we actually upgraded to the room above the bar, which wasnt as noisy as that sounds, and which is enormous. Breakfast takes place on a very nice roof terrrace.

Room Tip: upgrade to room above bar, its huge

Hotel Elixir is a small friendly hotel within 15 minutes walk of the town and harbour. The one thing that struck us as we arrived for our stay was the genuinely warm welcome from the manager and staff. He welcomed our arriving group and asked us to introduce ourselves. This immediately put us at our ease and we made new acquaintances straight away. The service from all staff was first class and the barman kept us constantly entertained. All the food was freshly prepared and delicious with plenty of choice. The main retaurant is on the roof terrace and gives lovely views of the surrounding sea. We stayed in a superior room which was spacious and had two very comfortable chairs to relax in. The balcony was small and only seated one, comfortably.
The bathroom was well laid out with shower and bath.
