“A Turkish Delight...by Bruce!!!!”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

A delightful hotel lovingly run by the OZDEMIR family ( father FAIK , mother SEVIM and sons GOKHAN and GOKSEN ). Excellent home cooking by SEVIM discourages guests from venturing downhill to the resort's restaurants too often and a poolside bar staffed by GOKHAN and GOKSEN alternatively adds a lively ambiance to the proceedings! All overseen by the friendly patrician FAIK...

And they're pretty nifty in an emergency....the author managed to lose his safe key on a large sandy beach one Sunday. A locksmith was summoned from Fethiye - 50 miles away - and 3hrs later the problem was solved at 10.30pm. The guest was suitably relieved...and will definitely return to this exceptional family run hotel one day!

We read the reviews for this hotel before we went and there were lots of things which were true and were great, but a couple of things which weren't so great. The shining feature of the hotel was definitely the view from the terrace where breakfast was served. the hotel definitely had a friendly and laid back feel, and we felt very safe there. We didn't eat at the hotel (except breakfast) but the toasties that we did have a couple of times were delicious. We arrived late, and the owner kindly agreed to do us one of these toasties at midnight as the chef was still up-which was very kind! The hotel was also clean and the room was a reasonable size. Bad points: Unfortunately the room was on the first floor next to the stair case and the sound of heels and shoes on the staircase and people all shouting goodbye at 3 in the morning outside our room kept us up most of the first night.I realise that other peoples noise can be part and parcel of staying in a hotel, but the echoing through the room from the stream of people on the stone stairs in the evening and morning was quite loud! Our room unfortunately faced a fence and some government type building wired off, and was directly next to another balcony. There were two large dogs guarding the building that barked a lot! so unfortunately we couldn't sit out on our balcony or enjoy a view, which we were really disappointed about. We put the air con on every night after this, and as it was quite noisy it thankfully drowned out most noise and we slept fine. Breakfast was bread cheese, olives and fruit, which I enjoyed. Unfortunately my partner doesn't really enjoy this sort of lunch type food for breakfast, and we were disappointed that you had to pay for cereal or omelette (which wasn't that cheap). We didn't mind the walk up the hotel, but I would suggest anyone who is particularly unfit or who has walking difficulties would find it hard. The pool was also small, usually we enjoy swimming in hotel pools, but preferred a nice beach or beach club instead. All in all, it was friendly, good service, safe, and nice breakfast views, and it provided a good base, but we were let down mainly by our room location and the pool size. I suspect if you had a more quiet room one of the beautiful views you might have a different experience. Ps Kalkan is lovely!!

I have once again had a wonderful relaxing holiday with this lovely family. My husband visited with me this year for the first time and rated it "best holiday ever" quite something coming from Roddy. The hotel is well situated and the family are wonderful. Lovely food in the hotel and beautiful view from roof terrace at breakfast. Will keep going back again and again. Nan

This is one of the best holidays we have had. A lovely small family run hotel. It had everything you could need. A lovely room with side sea view. A lovely family that made you feel very welcome. The evenings spent round the bar with the other guests were so enjoyable. The bbq evening was a great way to get to know everyone and the food was excellent. I can't wait to go back next year!
This was our first time in Turkey, the people are so nice and the climate perfect.
See you next year Faik and family.

Just returned from a wonderful fortnight in Kalkan. This hotel is run perfectly by a lovely family. Nothing is to much trouble. They all look after you very well. Make you feel very at home from very start of holiday with no pressure like some hotels in Kalkan. No hesitation about going back. The roof top terrace has wonderful views for breakfast, shame its not used for the evening meals too.

Had a very pleasant two weeks' stay at the Kelibek. The family run the hotel calmly and efficiently -nothing is too much trouble. Kalkan itself is very pretty with stunning views and lots of good restaurants. The steep hills could be challenging but otherwise definitely worth a visit.

Just one of the best holiday's we have ever had. Hotel is family run and you feel part of the family as soon as you arrive. It is just lovely. Clean, tidy, friendly and a great bar and barmen!!! Make sure you try the Lamb shank night and the BBQ night, they are great evenings for breaking the ice with all the other residents ......just enjoy yourselves!
