Where to start, having seen the impressive photos on the web site we were pretty sure we would be in for something special, but..........step back breath takingly amazing first impression.
We stayed in the Nubaru Sultan room which was spacially immense, huge king sized four poster bed, separate dressing table, separate toilet, another area for a cloudburst shower wet room with natural flagstone and pebble floor and so it went on, sound system, mini bar & fridge, TV,DVD separate bath......safe, wardrobe space aplenty!!
Outside, 2 separate sun terraces not to mention a meticulously cleaned private pool, just accross the road and down a few steps to your own private cabana which itself had a double sun lounger bed, mini bar, and 2 additional single sunloungers.
But I think what really made this holiday were the staff, you could not meet nicer people of ANY nationality. NOTHING was to much bother for any of them, everything carried out with a smile and a wave, from the staff that brought you an exquisit breakfast each morning and took the greatest of care laying out all the crockery and food on your sun terrace to the house keeping that would make love heart shapes out of hand towels and place them on the bed and scatter flowers and petals all around.
The Elixir rep, Senen was such a happy pleasurable person, she, like the rest of all the people we met in Kalkan was friendly and talkative with perfect english, kind of reminds you what a luddite you are, or at least I am, when it comes to conversing in a foreign tongue.
Kalkan itself was a lovely little town and was served by a courtesy bus service from the hotel and back 3 times a day, although in truth no more than a 10 minute walk away.
The resturants were amazing, food simply exquisite, we were advised by Jan at the Yali Beach Club (Opposite our hotel and where we did eat twice and also very good!) to try MUSSAKKA, brilliant place also Aubergine is not to be missed and finally, but deffinately not to be missed, Likya Residency Hotel, up on the hill........amazing terrace to eat outside on and the food is different class.........you must try this place.
I always have a strong urge not to return to places, regardless of how good my holiday was as there are so many places out there and so little time to get to them, BUT......................I am going to find it really difficult not to revisit this one.
