Where to start, having seen the impressive photos on the web site we were pretty sure we would be in for something special, but..........step back breath takingly amazing first impression.
We stayed in the Nubaru Sultan room which was spacially immense, huge king sized four poster bed, separate dressing table, separate toilet, another area for a cloudburst shower wet room with natural flagstone and pebble floor and so it went on, sound system, mini bar & fridge, TV,DVD separate bath......safe, wardrobe space aplenty!!
Outside, 2 separate sun terraces not to mention a meticulously cleaned private pool, just accross the road and down a few steps to your own private cabana which itself had a double sun lounger bed, mini bar, and 2 additional single sunloungers.
But I think what really made this holiday were the staff, you could not meet nicer people of ANY nationality. NOTHING was to much bother for any of them, everything carried out with a smile and a wave, from the staff that brought you an exquisit breakfast each morning and took the greatest of care laying out all the crockery and food on your sun terrace to the house keeping that would make love heart shapes out of hand towels and place them on the bed and scatter flowers and petals all around.
The Elixir rep, Senen was such a happy pleasurable person, she, like the rest of all the people we met in Kalkan was friendly and talkative with perfect english, kind of reminds you what a luddite you are, or at least I am, when it comes to conversing in a foreign tongue.
Kalkan itself was a lovely little town and was served by a courtesy bus service from the hotel and back 3 times a day, although in truth no more than a 10 minute walk away.
The resturants were amazing, food simply exquisite, we were advised by Jan at the Yali Beach Club (Opposite our hotel and where we did eat twice and also very good!) to try MUSSAKKA, brilliant place also Aubergine is not to be missed and finally, but deffinately not to be missed, Likya Residency Hotel, up on the hill........amazing terrace to eat outside on and the food is different class.........you must try this place.
I always have a strong urge not to return to places, regardless of how good my holiday was as there are so many places out there and so little time to get to them, BUT......................I am going to find it really difficult not to revisit this one.

Room Tip: If you want a real feeling of space and privacy then the Nubaru Sultan on the ground floor with its...

It is difficult to find enough superlatives for this newly opened boutique hotel. It is true that we had the best room of all, Nubaru Sultan, massive internal space, on the ground floor, own big pool, terrace on two sides, but all the rooms we saw were good and, like ours, all had an amazing private cabana overlooking the sea. There was a free gulet ride thrown in and we took ours early, a good idea as we met some of the other guests, really interesting, charming people. Serkan 'the butler' served us breakfast on the terrace and drinks in the Cabana, where there was also a double bed, recliners and mini-bar! Nothing was too much trouble for him. The Elixir representatives were second to none in their desire to please and we did an incredible day excursion with trip to ancient ruins, trout farm lunch and 'gorge walk' (not for the feint-hearted but I am 64, and loved it). Though I found the carpet factory visit rather long and a little boring, my husband didn't and had a go himself- real role reversal in their eyes as it is considered 'women's work'. Staff at the beach club restaurant next door were attentive and fun, Likya guests would have special tables set for them on platforms next to the sea, and the food was good. And finally a special thank you to Elixir Holidays who not only organised our Turkey trip to perfection, but also got us smoothly over to Rhodes by hydrofoil and lodged us in another superb hotel in Lindos as part of a two-centre package. Without doubt a truly wonderful holiday.

We recently returned from our holiday staying at the Likya Gardens hotel and the Peninsula Gardens Hotel which is a sister hotel in Kas.The travel arrangements by Elixir were second to none and started our holiday in true 5* style which set the tone for the whole holiday. The Likya Gardens is a truely amazing hotel and I cannot recommend it enough for a relaxing and peaceful retreat where you want for nothing and yet only 10 minutes from lively Kalkan with all the friendly restaurants you could want. The staff at the hotel and at Yali beach club are exceptional. Try a week relaxing at the Likya and a week at the Peninsula Gardens in Kas which is also an amazing hotel but which has a small bar , restaurant and spa - you then get the best of both worlds, some peaceful relaxation and some social interaction. Kas is lovely as well and a very different style town to Kalkan. All in all a truly wonderful and special holiday.

Room Tip: We were in the Hurrem Sultan which is a deluxe room. Although not the most expensive we felt it was...

Our first visit to turkey and we were lucky enough to stay at this small hotel. Our suite was mid price range and was very spacious and extremely comfortable. But the best part of our suite was the outside space.Outside our room was a balcony where we were served breakfast every morning at our convenience.A few steps up from our balcony was our own pool and sun loungers and settee and chairs in the shade. It was difficult to leave these surroundings and we relaxed and were very private. The private cabana was a special treat when the day became hot we retreated to the cabana overlooking the sea where there was a welcome breeze. The cabana had its own double bed mini bar 2 sun loungers and a buzzer to call for meals or drinks from the beach side restaurant. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful when it came to booking taxis and restaurant tables. the beachside Yali Restaurant was fine for midday snacks and drinks. The menu was not extensive but the hotel is only 10 /15min walk from Kalkan where there are some superb restaurants.Try Aubergine,Trio , Gourmet and Mussaka. But to be honest the standard of food in most places is very good and we ate well.Kalkan is a lively place in the evenings but in a friendly welcoming way.It is for tourists mainly. We paid a visit to Kas which is more of a Turkish town with tourists and is just as good as Kalkan. We believe that the hotel is planning a bar for guests for next season Nd this will be a good addition as fellow guests will be able to share drinks together.
The next time we need some sunshine a private pool and relaxation we will return to the Likya Gardens and thoroughly recommend it.

My heart sank when we arrived at the hotel after a long hot transfer. The reception are of the hotel is dark and brown and traditional with a large, strange and not entirely sucessful water feature to one side with plastic flowers floating in rather unappetising-looking water. However, despite my initial worries I really did enjoy our stay here. We had really fantastic food from a delicious Turkish menu - it was tempting to stay for lunch, dinner and room service at the hotel but we did manage to tear ourselves away and try other places. The swimming pools were beautiful and the staff were extremely pleasant, good-natured and helpful. I would have liked a bigger balcony - but the hotel was completely full and I was just grateful to be there! There were plenty of sunbeds and seating outdoors so it didn't hugely matter.

Room Tip: Ask about the size of the balcony when you book - some have room for sunbeds and umbrellas, one room...

I just got back from a 10 day stay at Likya Gardens. I wanted to love this place but i did not.

We were a group of 10 and hired the entire property. First it is important to make clear that the rooms are all very nice, clean and comfortable with superb views of Kalkan bay. The staff are very efficient and helpful especially Serkan our valet/butler who went out of his way to look after us. The pools are all good and the cabanas on the beach superb, We booked it through Elixir in London and the whole process was efficient and easy. We were picked up at Dalaman airport in a super comfortably bus with very plush interiors.

Te first thing you notice though is while the property is 5 star standard, it is surrounded by a hotel and a restaurant of 2 star standing overrun by package tourists from the UK, so it certainly did not give the feeling of serenity nor exclusivity. We booked the entire property in the hope of some privacy from the crowds but they were everywhere especially the beach club which is shared with the above mentioned low quality venues.

Even worse the hotel has no kitchen and uses the services of the Yalli beach club (a sister establishment) and to describe it best would be to say has the quality of a very lowly fish and chip shop, the food was AWFUL , mainly fried food and terrible salads at exorbitant prices. I really wonder how the owners think they can have a 5 star hotel and force their guest to use such a low quality food outlet. We kept asking for ice and many times they didnt have any (imagine in the middle of summer for ice to be an issue in a supposed 5 star outlet)!

We had a barbecue included in our package, we asked to upgrade the meal and pay the difference. They requested 120 Turkish Liras per person (for an upgrade of the menu remember) which is three times what you would pay for a full three course meal with alcohol in the best restaurants in Kalkan, we eventually decided not to have our barbecue since we were definitely NOT going to eat there particularly given the great choice of good restaurants in Kalkan and the very unsubtle attempt by the Yall Beach manager to rip us off. DEFINITELY NOT 5 star service.

We booked some excursions through the hotel, they were nice enough but again neither 5 star nor exclusive in any way.

The place has potential to be superb, the staff are very sincere and trying their best to manage. But a lot still needs to be done, i suppose it is their first season and imagine things will get better . I will definitely NOT return again. Good luck to them, they need it.
