“Best of the Best”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

Yes, you are spoilt by choice for restos in Kalkan, but Agora was our favourite. Menu, food quality and service were all first class, at prices no higher than the Kalkan average. We visited in early October - though we started on the terrace we had to move indoors when the drizzle set in! Starter "Imam Bayildi" was excellent (this dish seems to be different wherever you order it!). Our main courses were Akya (fish - aka Amberjack, Umberjack or Leer) and Lamb Kavurma - both excellent. As it was our last evening we had deserts - Lemon Tart and Apricot Pie, both delicious and beautifully decorated. Good wine, Available by the glass.

Thoroughly recommended.

“Ate here twice it was so good - Amazing Views in beautiful surroundings”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

One of the best restaurant because the steak was cooked beautifully, Staff were extremely friendly, the two brothers really know how to treat people. They were attentive to our dietary requirements (gluten and dairy free). Fainting priest was with fish but very tasty And the Culvura (lamb) was delicious. Everywhere was clean and the atmosphere fantastic, a real delight eating there.

“Well worth a vist”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

Had a lovely meal at Agora in July. I went with my two teenage children. We all enjoyed the food, the pea purée was nice and a bit different. We all had a plesant evening and would go back. Kalkan has many eateries of this standerd so you're spoilt for choice. Overall I thought the restaurant had a good atmosphere and well worth a visit.

“Wonderful evening”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

Agora is another restaurant liked by TripAdvisor users. We gave it a go and were pleased we did. It was Turkey national day and the villagers were out in force with flares, flags and honking horns. They were in party mood and we were entertained by firework displays from our roof top table at Angora. The restaurant owner was in good spirits and clearly enjoying the music of the nearby concert as he jogged around the restaurant.
We enjoyed cold beer and a gin and tonic as we chose from a menu offering a good range of Turkish fare.
To start we shared a hot meze plate which was delicious. Mrs S chose the sea bream and I, the moussaka which arrived on a plate ringing with flames! Quite an entrance and totally unexpected. The moussaka was one of the best I have eaten. As ever, we enjoyed a bottle of chilled white Angora wine.
Service was warm, fun and friendly. We will definitely return next year.
Total bill less than £60.
