Much of what is good about the Happy is unchanged, the lovely pool, stunning views and decent food, however on our arrival it was obvious that the staff restructuring that had taken place the year before had been forgotten and standards had started to slip back to the sad days of 2016, the pool furniture in particular was in a terrible state, but after complaints efforts were made to address this issue, this however was only one issue we and many other guests were concerned about, the absence of Seher we understood but the person who seems to have replaced her ( Ahmet ? ) has done nothing for the morale of the staff in fact it seems his presence has led to the departure of Bar/Resaurant manager Bahri and his brother Kenan which caused much consternation to returning guests, it must be said the staff who took over with minimal training or experience did a great job but the loss of these members of staff is a great loss to guests and the hotel.

Room tip: All rooms over the pool have views of Kalamar Bay.

We are sorry you were unhappy with your stay at the Happy this year.
Kenan and Bahri were at a mood that was not for the best interest of the hotel. Several guests complained about lack of supervision of the staff in the past, and unfortunately this situation was very much liked and gotten used to. It had to change, and Bahri and Kenan did not like it.
Ahmet is not a replacement to Seher. Seher is the owner of the hotel and she is going to be at the hotel (with her new baby daughter) next year, and everything is going to change back to normal. We will of course strive to maintain the hotel at a good condition as best we can.
Come back again check for yourself.

This was our fourth visit to the Happy Hotel after a gap of a few years. Same beautiful setting and amazing views and a good breakfast but customer service was poor. The excellent and very personal and super friendly customer service that we have experienced on past visits from Seher, Bahri and Kennen were very noticeably and very sadly missed now that they are no longer working at the hotel. They truly were the people who worked so hard to make the hotel "happy" and its guests valued and made sure we had a great holiday, which we so appreciated. The staff who were there had very little English, and we did not know who was in charge, which proved a problem on several occasions. Repeated requests to attend to the very stiff sliding doors onto our balcony were ignored. We certainly did not feel like valued guests as we had on all our previous visits. We'd like to mention Halkan, working nights on reception, who had very good English and was the most helpful, professional and friendly member of staff - thankyou Halkan!

We really enjoyed our holiday in Kalkan and around the area, but things will need to improve a lot for us to choose to return to stay at the Happy Hotel.

We are sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with the quality of the service provided at the Happy.
Bahri and Kenan chose to leave the hotel at their own discretion at a very unsuitable time. There was nothing the hotel could do about it. However the young people there did their best to make the hotel guests even happier in their absence. They will sure be very unhappy to learn that their efforts were not appreciated.
Seher is going to be managing the Happy again next year, and the hotel will be better staffed at the reception, bar and restaurant, kitchen and housekeeping.
Try us again.

This Hotel has the best Staff. They are genuine, lovely, helpful, polite and respectful. We had an upgrade; ended up with beautiful views. Waking up to the most gorgeous setting was special. I have to mention the Staff again, they had the most positive ,nicest attitude by being friendly and professional. The swimming pool is the biggest in Kalkan. Kalamar Bay offers excellent beach facilities, the hotel provides a lift to the beach nearby and their minibus shuttle service to the town is great. Rooms are huge, I would say some of them need a little updating however they are pretty comfortable.The bathroom, shower area, kitchenette , sitting area, balcony, bedrooms with lots of storage help you enjoy your stay. The cleanliness is great.

Just home after two weeks in Kalkan for first time. At first we weren’t sure of hotel as room seemed tired. But soon realised what a great place it was. Staff were lovely, balcony was huge with most amazing views, pool is wonderful and breakfast was really nice - Loved the omelettes. Thanks all for a great holiday. No wonder so many lovely guests revisit regularly. Planning our next trip soon. Loved Kalkan.

Specious rooms, clean and wonderful views from the balcony, which would have been even better with two sun loungers. Great to be able to make tea and coffee in our room but kitchen area is not well equipped , some cutlery and plates would have been nice. Good breakfast choices but it’s a shame the toaster didn’t work properly and didn’t brown the bread. Lovely friendly staff and we met some wonderful people, most of them returners to the Happy Hotel. Fantastic swimming pool and decking area with the most glorious views . Wooden sun loungers could do with a paint or replacing but were comfortable. Talking of painting , the green paint work looks horrible , white paint work would really give the place a facelift. The bus shuttle service to take guests into the old town and pick up of an evening is excellent . If you fancy staying out late the taxi back to hotel cost £3.
We looked at other hotels in Kalkan that were much nicer decorated and more expensive than the Happy Hotel but then you get what you pay for. I will most definitely return
