Wonderful location on the hillside with stunning views of Kalkan. The infinity pool was lovely as was the little outside bar. The rooms were very clean an comfortable and contained a small kitchenette with a fridge which was very useful. Our room rate included breakfast, that was simple Turkish style and although it was tasty and plentiful it lacked variety. You could buy "extras" at an additional cost,, something we had not experienced in a hotel before, that we didn't necessarily agree with.
However it was the service and friendliness of the staff that we will always remember. Lokman who was always willing to please, Murat for his music, Mehmet for just being Mehmet and Vicky for her local knowledge.
Just a final observation on Kalkan. The town is very pretty and vibrant, but it is geared towards the British tourist and the many expats that live there, so if you are looking for a cosmopolitan atmosphere you may be disappointed. Of the many restaurants we tried, Trio in the harbour was good, the rooftop location of Sofra served excellent meat and fish dishes and if you just wanted tasty kebabs, Hungar is a good choice. Turkey is a wonderful country and we will definitely return

From the moment we arrived in Turkey we felt well and truly spoiled by Simpson Travel and all the staff at the Mediteran Hotel.

An extremely smooth transfer in an air conditioned car from Dalaman to Kalkan was followed by a lovely welcome (and free drink!) from the staff on arrival at the hotel. Our room was clean and spacious and we had fabulous views looking down toward the town. The infinity pool was beautiful and the layout of the hotel with the bar on the hillside edge overlooking the town also had stunning views. The food was delicious in the restaurant and was very well priced, the cocktails and other drinks perfectly made and the attention to detail was incredible.

The staff were friendly and so helpful, the service could not be faulted. Lokman, Murat and Mehmet are such lovely people and really couldn't do enough for us, along with Vicky the Simpson Rep and all the other staff at the hotel. They made our stay very relaxing and enjoyable - we can't wait to go back and see them all again!

Room Tip: We were in room 304 which was on the top floor and had incredible views across the bay.

Got back from a week at the Mediteran two days ago. Didn't want to leave. Had such a great time from the moment we arrived at Dalaman to be met by Simpson's Rep., Vicky who guided us to our private transfer car. The greeting from the staff when we arrived at the hotel was unique - they were all so friendly and helpful. Made you feel like you were old friends. The hotel is in a fantastic position with views over the infinity pool to the sea below. Stunning!!! The food at the hotel was great as were the drinks and very competitively priced. Kalkan itself is a lovely town and as the hotel provided a courtesy bus or car down there during the day and early evening, we were able to visit every day. It was a steep walk down so this was much appreciated!!! All in all, a most enjoyable stay and we will certainly be going back.

Room Tip: First floor seaview

Just returned from a relaxing and enjoyable week in May at the Mediteran - not to be confused with the hotel of the same name in Fethiye!
The Mediteran is approx 1.5 hours from Dalaman airport.
Fabulous views over Kalkan - ignore the pylon down below - after a while, you do not notice it!
Staff so friendly and attentive- they could not do more for you.
Inifinity pool is superb.
Rooms spacious and clean. We had the ground floor rooms 106/107 which gave is sea view s from our patio.
As others have said, the hotel is a 20 minute steep walk to "downtown" Kalkan- there is a quicker route but this is very steep and may not be suitable for all. There are footbridges to cross the main coast road. In May this was fine but not sure I would want to walk the journey in the heat of July/August. Beach is lovely however recommend beach shoes if like me you struggle to walk barefoot on pebbles. The complimentary beach club/restaurant/bar near the harbour offers loungers on decking with steps directly into the sea. I believe there are approx 250 restuarants in Kalkan so plenty of choice however food at the Mediteran is also excellent - I recommend the fishcake and Murat makes superb cocktails!
Just to be aware, that if you have walking difficulties, this hotel has a number of steps.

Highly recommend Simpson Travel. Vicki the local rep and Lokman the concierge were both very helpful and attentive. Overall a relaxing and peaceful break.

The hotel is in the perfect position to relax by the pool by day and enjoy the evening warmth in the town of Kalkan. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Simpsons Travel rep Vicky was very attentive and professional she has an excellent knowledge of the area and was a regular visitor to the hotel to ensure all was well. We were with two friends and felt well cared for throughout our stay. Having a small kitchen area to make a drink to enjoy on the balcony was a lovely extra, would and have recommended to friends and family.

Not long back from a 2 week stay at the Mediteran. We went there last year and were so impressed that we thought we'd go back again, just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. We've never been back to the same hotel on any of our other holidays, so it was with some trepidation that we booked again. Well we needn't Have worried, it was just as marvelous the 2nd time as it was the 1st. Obviously the view was still magnificent and the town itself is a hidden gem, but the Mediteran never fails to impress. Nothing is too much for the staff, both at the main hotel and the Indigo Beach Club which is free for hotel guests to use. The food was excellent, but if you didn't want to eat in the hotel, the staff where always prepared to give advice as to other great places to eat. Also a word about Simpson Travel, who we booked our holiday with. Jo, Vicky and all the Reps gave us fantastic service and were a mine of useful local information, the private airport transfers are definitely the way forward. After the early start and flight it was so nice to stretch out in your own chauffeur driven car, driven right to the door to be met by Memhet and the other staff who carry all your bags to your room. All in all a magical experience and needless to say this will not be our last visit.

Just returned from a week at the Mediteran.

Nice apartment, on 2nd floor with stunning views across Kalkan bay. Built in kitchen with fridge, for beers etc, which can be brought cheaper in the town than at the hotel. Nice balcony to watch the sun go down. Beds quite hard but, mattress toppers can be supplied if required. Excellent Simpson rep Vicky who is friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all things Turkey. Other staff all friendly and helpful also. Decent Turkish breakfast, and lunches where quite good as well. Plenty of eating choices in Kalkan for dinner.

Hotel situated on a hill so the less well able may find the stairs difficult, especially at night, when the lighting is not great. The walk to the town is not very pleasant and includes going down some steep hills and along and across a quiet dual carriageway, which takes about 15 minutes. The hotel provides a shuttle bus 5 times a day, one way to the town. There are plenty of taxi's available for the return priced 15TL, about a fiver. Plenty of comfortable sun beds always available around the nice pool, with great views for the backdrop.

The hotel also owns the Indigo beach club down at the harbour, where we spent most of our time. Some days it was busier than others but we always managed to secure a sun bed. Nice lunches in the bar situated above the beach club. The only negative comment, were the steps into the sea, which needed repairing. A number of the steps were missing which resulted in the less well abled struggling to get into the water safely. However, a nice touch was the buoyancy aids that were freely available which made the experience of bobbing about on the sea very nice.
Summing up, it was a really nice weeks holiday, and would difinitely return to the Mediteran.

Room Tip: Best views would be from 1st and 2nd floor rooms.
