Stayed with my family August 2012, apartments are clean and basic but perfectly capable. Air con included. We had a really lovely holiday helped by friendly staff and a gorgeous setting. Although slightly higher up than most of the apartments in Kalkan, it also means it is much cooler at night and much less noisy. Also gives you a stunning view from the pool! Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Pool side rooms have a better view and sun on the balcony for longer

Stayed here in July 2012 on a B&B basis. Nice en suite room with a balcony and stunning views of the bay. Kalkan itself is a lovely village with cobbled streets and a beautiful waterfront, lots of tavernas and bars to choose from and boat trips ( recommend Korsan). The hotel is situated across a busy main road up a very steep hill. Recommend hiring a car!

Pros:
Stunning views of the bay
Clean
Large pool
Restaurant (had a nice evening meal - try the slow cooked lamb on the bone)
Friendly, helpful staff

Cons:
Long walk to village, up and down a very steep hill (ok in the evening but not in the midday sun))!
Very busy road, no crossing points - just run for your life!! ( Wouldn't be happy doing it with kids.)
Surrounding area not particularly attractive.

Would stay here again if on a budget, if not would choose somewhere closer to the village (i.e. other side of the main road).

Room Tip: Lovely views of the bay.

Do check carefully as the original online booking we made for the Samira Hotel in June 2013 (I kept a copy) was somehow changed and was shown as the Samira Delux on the booking confirmation. This is not the first time I have heard that clients were booked into the cheaper accommodation further up the resort "in error". Whilst it is still nice, the location means a taxi ride back up the hill.
Fortunately, once we identified the "error" the booking agent (Loveholidays) was good enough to cancel and found us another hotel.

We stayed at the Samira Deluxe Hotel ( Now Samira Resort) We booked last minute with Thomson , upgraded to B & B from self catering , the Hotel rooms are much nicer than the Apartments. we almost changed to an apartment but they are much older . Cleaning staff are very very good and friendly , the lady in charge is also very accommodating and has a good sense of humour.A great view but the best views are from the B block hotel ,we stayed in A block where we had a partial sea view. Its a short walk down town and a great walk up hill to get home (taxi is about 12 turk lira) Car hire available next door very reasonable too.

After arriving at 3am, we were given a small hotel room which was new . In the morning we met the lovely receptionist and she gave us the choice of the hotel room or the tired apartment room which we had booked.
We decided on the spacious apartment which was clean but old fashioned . I told myself that it was the turkish way!!
We had a super holiday because of the weather and the friendly people that we met. The hotel was a 5 minute walk to the bus station- very handy. It was quite a hike up hill from the harbour where we enjoyed excellent food at half the price of England.

If you want a hotel room with breakfast- very good. The apartments need bringing up to date.

I stayed in a hotel room in Block B. It was fantastic and clean with a very nice balcony with a sea view (between 2 buildings, but still a good view). The seperate reception was open 24/7 and the staff were very helpful. The pool is a good size and is also spotlessly clean. Breakfast was entirely adequate and extras were always available at an added price. Apart from one lunch time, I didn't eat in the bar/restaurant as they were showing football most evenings, which wasn't my kind of thing - but that's just a personal view - plenty of guests did enjoy this. Each to his own. The food did look good and other people said it was very well presented and cooked. My only slight criticism was that I felt the staff in the bar could have been more friendly, but this may have been because I was a single male who didn't have a pretty woman on my arm.
All in all this is a brilliant place to stay - slightly out of the way, but the walk into the old town takes only about 15 minutes and the trek back takes about 20-25 mins. Taxis are cheap and plentiful and run all night. I would definitely recommend The Samira Deluxe.

Room Tip: The hotel rooms are better and more modern than the self-catering appartments

We tend to have a late season break in Turkey, why the weathers great (32+ ) food as always fantastic and the people wonderfully helpful and a joy to be with. this hotel covers all those points and more, you will first meet Fatima the receptionist she is just great anything you need or advice required this lady will sort it for. I have been to this place now 5 times and each visit has been consistently good, the staff are just right with a great sense of humor, excellent in the service side and ready to help, what more could you ask for. The biggest plus is although you are a little way out of the town cost wise very reasonable. The facilities at the hotel such as a good sized pool, good eating and drinking areas means that you can stay put and be very contented. Worth a try if its your first visit to Kalkan. John Roberts

Room Tip: Try and get a sea view room so breakfast or that evening drink on your balcony is just perfect.
