“nice hotel shame about the music blasting out!”
Reviewed June 12, 2012

Just returned from the Samira Deluxe. Booked to go to Kalkan as I wanted a quiet, relaxing break and all the reviews for the Samira Deluxe were so positive. The apartments are basic but very clean. We did have to move 3 times before we got a room with a decent view - we were very disappointed with the original ground floor room we were allocated as it was quite dark and the second room overlooked a wall. To be fair, the staff were happy to move us. We were a party of three and I ended up on a pull out bed in the lounge which was rock hard and had a big slit down the middle and no air con - I paid quite a lot of money and would have expected something a bit more comfy even it if was a pull out. My biggest disappointment about the hotel was the music that was blasting out by the pool. If you find it relaxing listening to dance music with a loud bass then you won't mind it - I think the bar manager (who apparently is new) does not quite understand that this is not an 18-30 holiday hotel. We asked several times for them to turn the bass down but this was ignored. We eventually complained to the rep after which we were completely blanked by nearly all of the staff (except for the lovely lady on reception who was very smiley).
I would advise people that his hotel is a long uphill walk from the centre of the resort. I'm quite fit but even I found it a struggle. You also have to cross a busy dual carriage way - I think you would struggle if you had kids unless you were prepared to catch a taxi all the time or don't mind fitting around the shuttle bus. On a positive, Kalkan is the most stunning resort and I will definitely go back - but I will chose a different hotel next time.

We stayed at the Samira Deluxe for a week in May. The room was spotless and had a very modern bathroom. The pool and bar areas were lovely with plenty of loungers and umbrellas. A pool table, dart board and table tennis all kept my boyf occupied!

We had the breakfast every day which consisted of olives, bread, two cheeses, yoghurt, honey, meat (ham), tomatoes and cucumber. The freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious!

Would recommend getting the free mini bus into town.. It's v steep going downhill so v difficult in high heels, but easy walking back up (as long as you are fairly fit).

Would def go back as the hotel has the best view of the bay without being right in the middle of town!

Great place to stay. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Nothing is a trouble to them. The food is good, the rooms are clean and tidy and the pool area is the best in Kalkan. We only paid £17 per night for two of us at the end of May.

We have just returned from the Samira Deluxe 25/05/12 and we had a wonderful time The staff were very friendly and helpful. The apartments were cleaned and fresh towels daily. The food was very good at the hotel as it was everywhere in kalkan. A really lovely resort and we will return. Thanks guys for making our holiday so brilliant.

Room Tip: We stayed in the apartments which are spacious for two, clean and traditional and we took a look at...

Arrived at the hotel late due to the mini bus breaking down on the way from the airport, but once arriving was pleased with the clean, tidy room. Had a good view, the only problem with the room was the bed was quite hard. All the staff are very friendly only a handful could speak good English. The B&B breakfast is ok no variety throughout the week, however the day to day meny food is nice. The hotel is on quite a steep hill but a free mini bus is available at certain times of the day which drop and collect in the town. This is a very relaxed area of turkey and there is not much noise or many young people. The restaurants in the town are extremely good, especially the ones near the harbour. The local beaches are small and yet again quiet. No complaints about the hotel or area it was just a little bit to quiet for me as I prefer my holidays a little bit more lively. Me and my partner went in August 2011.

Room Tip: There are apartments & a hotel but apparently the hotel has nicer rooms as it was built more rec...

well where do i start.we stayed in october 2012 for first visit to kalkan, First of all the staff fantastic, Fatima in reception always so helpful with a smile. Ridvan and his team of bar and waiters where always there to help at any time of day.I would reccomend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort relaxation . Some reviews are dissapointed by the steep walk int town, that was not a problem for me,but anyone can get the hotel bus down into town 3 0r 4 times a day and 7ish in the evening if you want to sample many of the great eating places in town, try the gourmet and the cafe leon, bus bacck at about 11ish, taxis very cheap,.My thanks to all the staff at thos splendid hotel,Tony and Gerald x

Room Tip: chose hotel b&b rather than self catering, rooms far superior in hotel.

Some people said that this hotel in not for the unfit, I would say this about any where in Kalkan as the whole of this fantasticaly beautiful place has some very, very steep hills to walk up, so for people with severe mobility problems I would have to say unfortunately this maybe not for you, we have been to the Samira Deluxe twice now and have always found it impeccable, rooms kept spotlessly clean, as with all the areas both inside and out, all the staff are friendly and helpful beyond expectations, we go B&B, you do get a traditional Turkish breakfast the same each day, but hey, you are in Turkey and should not expect English breakfasts, fish and chips and roast dinners, the one thing that really gets up my nose is people who complain about not getting English food when on holiday overseas, you will find 40+ restaurants to choose from in Kalkan and the food and service you will find second to none everywhere, not forgetting the shopkeepers who are also very freindly and helpful, no matter if you are intending to buy from them or not, we had our hols here last 2 weeks October this year, and booked to come back again last week July 1st Week August, I would recommend Samira deluxe and the resort of Kalkan (the Jewel of Turkey) to one and all.

Room Tip: The B&B rooms are in a newly built block.
