Owner description: The best-known attraction among the ruins of Aspendos is the great theater, an amazingly well preserved vestige of Roman architecture that may be as impressive as Rome's own Colosseum.

during our tour we visited this theater. impressing. walking upstairs is no problem, but downstairs is steep stairs ! in summertime are some performances.there were 2 men looking as old romans and asking for money to take a picture.there is a shop as well. paying entrance.
outside the theater is very nice for pictures as well. between the cottonplantages.an old viaduct
and some ruins.

“Marvellous Roman remains”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

This was an organised visit, as part of a tour of Turkey, of a site that we really wanted to see. It is one of the most complete amphitheatres in existent and retains a marvellous atmosphere. But it stands on its own, without the town that it originally served, so the visit was not very long. In the venue were a paid of "Roman" gladiators that would pose for photos, for a fee (I guess).

“Budget way to Aspendos”
Reviewed November 17, 2013

The budget way is for those who have the time and like to travel by local buses. We walked from Sabah Pansiyon to the Ismepasa tram stop and took the tram to Otoga stop and walked to the minibus terminal (2 lira). Took the minibus to Serik - 1hour and 30 mins and 7 lira. The minibus stop at the water fountain in Serik, Waited 4 mins and took bus no 10 to Aspendos - about 30 mins and 2 lira. Spent 3 hours seeing the theater and climbed up the hills to see the ruins of the basilica, stadium, temple, council house, fountain and the waterway, Waited 30 mins for the No 10 bus to Serik and then by minibus to bus station, Antalya. Total 33 lira including 15 lira entry fee and 8 hours.

A must if you're visiting the area. The acoustics are great and a guide can take you through the Royal Box, Lions entrances, how they got all the spectators in and out of the place.....it goes on forever. There are some nice short walks signed around the hills and from high up you can see the outline of the chariot racing arena and walk to the nearby remains of the aqueducts.
One of the great remaining wonders of the Roman World

“Worth a Visit!!!”
Reviewed November 16, 2013

We visited here as part of a trip after visiting the ruins at Perge.

It was a good day out but it wasnt as big i thought it would be! Only annoying thing were the 2 guys dressed up as romans & a photographer who pretty much snatched your own camera out of your hand and made you pose for photos with the actors - Which you had to pay for if you wanted copies!

Still had a great time though & got some brilliant photos - Worth a Visit!!
