“Extravagant Turkish delight?”
Reviewed May 22, 2013

Stayed for 3 nights at this hotel following a cultural coach tour in Turkey. The first thing that hits you is the size - an enormous complex (1035 rooms?) and built in the style of a Thai pagoda. Don't come here if you want peace and quiet! All the reception rooms/bedrooms have a Siamese theme (why? when you are in Turkey??) - our bedroom (on the 3rd floor and overlooking one of the pool areas) was spacious, clean and well decorated, with a balcony. The bed was a futon style - very low - but large. A/c worked well - the outside temperature was 30 + degrees. Meals were served in an enormous self-service dining area (with some seating outside on the terrace). Despite the very large number of guests, the food buffet was always well stocked and with a good variety. Drinks can be added to your "room bill" and paid for at the end of your visit (reception will accept sterling/euros/T.lira - or a combination of all three!
We didn't use the pools (there were lots of children) but we swam every day in the sea, using the hotel's sunloungers on their private beach - there are lifeguards on duty. If you are not eating lunch at the hotel, there are a number of reasonable restaurants within walking distance; I found one on the beach, next to the boat hire shack - a beer + meat/cheese/salad sandwhich cost 6 euros. There is evening entertainment in the outside theatre. Despite the size of this hotel we were happy with all the facilities provided - but definitely wouldn't go in August!!

Room Tip: Some of the rooms have mezanine levels with a mix of double/twin beds. Ask if you want a room overl...

Spent 3 nights at the resort hotel. Our room had two single futon style beds downstairs and a large treble in an upstairs mezzanine. Would have liked the bigger bed but at our age it would have meant a couple of trips down a steep staircase to the bathroom at the lower level. On the whole beds comfortable and the room clean, Two large and very clean swimming pools with plenty of sunbeds. Towels one euro a day. Incessant music at considerable volume. Food in the dining room more than adequate but it was always very crowded and the majority guests being Russian a bit of push and shove in the service areas. Overall suited best to young families from the east of Europe. All prices in euros,

A fantastic building, modern, lovely rooms, clean and we found, apart from the restaurant, helpful and cheerful staff. BUT there is NO escape from the loud, repetitive and incessant thumping music, it reaches the beach which is very conveniently at the end of the gardens. Many used personal ipods etc to at least listen to a variety. Without this aspect we would have rated the hotel good.

We assumed that all inclusive differed from half board only by a free drinks package but if you book half board the standard of food differs quite a bit from those on all inclusive and whilst basic drinks, tea coffee and water are free at breakfast you'll have to pay for them at dinner, €2.5 for a bottle of water. (You needn't bother with Turkish Lira, everything is priced in euros)

Bring your own drinks in and risk having them withdrawn from you by security until you leave.

Good pools and slides, nice beach for the area, not all sand but not as pebbly as some and good watersports which appear to be professionally run.

To sum it up, too big and impersonal. Not the place for a quiet relaxing break.
Two elderly members of our party had to got to hospital because of falls (Quite subdued lighting, they both tripped/missed steps) but the staff weren't interested.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the pools/beach side for quieter rooms although to be fair the loud music stops rela...

Good facilities, good food and a generally helpful staff..... BUT our room was entered repeatedly while we were out, and not just once a day for cleaning.

1. All of our bottled water was removed without our knowledge, so we had nothing to drink.
2. Someone opened my wife´s suitcase.
3. "Room inspection" turned up while we were out - our neighbour observed this!

We complained but received no response. This is the first time we have ever felt so badly treated, that we feel that a negative review is warranted.

Stayed here for two nights (would have counted as three but we left for the airport in the early hours!). Rooms and public areas very good and serving staff in the restaurant and bars were cheerful and friendly (unlike the reception staff). Plenty of meal choices and whilst the restaurant got busy, no real issues over service.
The martins were nesting above the balconies and were a delight to watch.
Only gripe for those of us who are now a bit less agile was the low level beds - very comfortable but took a bit of getting up from!

We stayed at this hotel for a week commencing 11th March 2013. Lovely hotel just as described, but we found that they catered for the German, French and Belgian visitors, NOT the British. Although low season the restaraunt was really busy in the evening with continual queing for hot meats.

The worst thing was that we were not given any information relating to meal times, facilities on site, trips that were available etc. We were given nothing. Front office manager, when contacted did show us around but no written info. We did not have a clue what was going on where or what we could do.

The emergency generator was activated twice while we were there, once late afternoon but the other time was at 0528am - horrendous noise went on for over an hour.

Still a lovely hotel, decent food and good staff. Definately would not visit in the height of the season.

As for the resort of Belek - where we were, there were a handful of shops and nothing else to do.

Room Tip: We were in room 1202 and overlooked waste ground and the side of another hotel. Only had the sun on...
