Description: It is possible to see many traditional home foods, which are made by the experienced cooks, in the various restaurants lined up from the smallest settlement areas up to the big cities. However, one of those restaurants has a legendary name, which is giving a hard struggle for long years to keep the traditional tastes alive and achieved to survive and remain standing till today...

Somewhat different style for a turkish place, nice and shiny and no fuss. Food and service was great! The majority of guests were business people, not the ideal place to go for a romantic dinner thou the scenery is fantastic.

Was a pleasant experience finally. The appetizers were delicious. The warm starters were nicely prepared. The meat was nice. The service (especially the old waiters) was professional.

We had read the reviews and really looked forward to a lovely evening but we were bitterly disappointed. On arrival the restaurant was very busy and we thought this was a positive sign - wrong!
We ordered a mixture of hot and cold starters and discussed our main course taking advice from the waiter and settled in to enjoy our evening.

Cold starters arrived within a few minutes - almost dumped on our table by a young waiter!

The restaurant was very busy . Locals were definitely getting preferential treatment. Our main course arrived after 40 minutes but no sing of our hot starter!

My husband had ordered a lamb shish - 4 skewers arrived on a plate with a lump of mash potato and rice garnished with a grilled pepper!
I ordered meatballs in tomato sauce / yoghurt as recommended

I am not exaggerating when I say the lamb kebabs and meatballs were tiny! tiny, tasteless and in my case swimming in tomato sauce with "bread" that turned out to be crutons. No salad, no chips, nothing and lukewarm.

Staff were not interested in what we thought - our hot starter arrived half way through our main course without apology or acknowledgment.
We paid and left - bitterly disappointed . There are much better restaurants within 10 minutes walk of Hotel Su such as Nobel or the Ship Inn. Avoid 7 Mehmet at all costs :(

I agree with previous contributors that the view is nice and some of the food almost special, especially the deserts. However, it's a place to be careful over what you order - and to check how much it will cost beforehand. For example - the starters and salad were very ordinary - overcooked veggies, blended broad (has)beens, bland tahini with some chili to mask the bland and almost half an avocado among the usual greenery to justify double a normal salad cost. Water comes in a pretty (expensive) bottle too. The Kofta in yoghurt was almost as good as the delicious plate I'd had at aTrabzon market stall - and at 6 times the Trabzon price. And the meat over unspecial rice with some black bits and morsels of dried liver - had a price tag of unpredicted astronomic proportions. Having said all that, if you like to eat at a place where people park their Mercedes 300 series or BMW 7 series ... then this is it. Personally, I think the best part of the meal was the company that sat with me - and the walk through the culture park afterwards - when all 3 of us wondered how so little could have cost so much.
