“Top Turkish Food”
Reviewed May 21, 2014 via mobile

We enjoyed this restaurant so much we went there twice. It is just outside the old town just over 100m from the clock tower. Great outdoor eating area. Lots of locals dining there. The food was excellent as was the service. Reasonably priced.

“Service and honesty doesn't measure up to the quality of the food.”
Reviewed May 19, 2014 via mobile

This restaurant was recommended by the manager of our hotel. Food was great at a very reasonable price, however our waiter was horrible. Very dour and generally unfriendly. The prices charged on the check did not match the menu. When we brought this to his attention, he became very cold but brought us a menu so we could show him the discrepancies as we requested. The overcharge was significant - 15 to 20%. He had no explanation, no apology, and was very put off with us. As I've indicated, the food was very good. This has happened to us more than once while we've been in Turkey both times in large tourist towns. Probably not an adequate assessment of all the service at this one particular establishment.

“Excellent restaurant”
Reviewed May 5, 2014

Advised by shop owner in old town to avoid old town restaurants as overpriced. Chanced upon the Parlak and had an excellent meal of three courses and bottle of wine for £28 for two. Lovely seating outside, food delicious and service good.

We had the famous chicken, roasted over a woodfire and grilled calamar and grilled seabream. it was all perfectly prepared. We sat outside wich is nice as well. The waiter speaks perfect English.

“Best Food in town”
Reviewed February 20, 2014

It is known for its barbeque chicken but it also serves other Turkish dishes and specialties. Suitable for vegetarians for lunch, they have vegetable dishes for daily commuters and meat and poultry dishes from menu. When I want to boost my iron deficiency I go there for Chicken liver. It is one of thee best and also Chicken Guvec is our favourite as well. All other meat dishes are also tasty and you can try the starters. Salads are also fresh and crispy. The only downside of it is location, because it is not in the main street and only locals know its specialties, tucked in the street, closed to traffic, just opposite the clock tower.
