Positive:
- Prompt check-in although we arrived 5 hours before check-in time
- Good food, good variety, very good team in all restaurants
- Pool very close to beach, thus easy to walk to the beach from the pool
- Clean rooms and beds. Big mirror in the rooms which we loved
- Fun animation team, but unlike other hotels in LARA number of activities are not enough to keep you busy all time
- 6 big and fast elevators
- Very yummy Turkish snack close to the pool, available almost all-day long
- Good entertainment for kids
Negatives:
- Tiling in the bathrooms, and in the lobby WC, and indoor pool showers gives feeling of lack of cleanliness
- No clock available at the pool side
- If you want night fun, dance or …., there is not much for you in the hotel. Go out …

Room Tip: ask for sea view only

Just spent two weeks at the Khundu, there are many negative reports on trip advisor and i just can't believe these people stayed in the same hotel.
Yes on arrival the hotel does not look as grand as many of the others along the beach however we have all seen the pictures and reviewed the hotels to death before booking so we know that the other MORE EXPENSIVE hotels on the beach will be slightly grander.
If you want to stay in the Delphin Palace then pay twice the price and go for it!
The Khundu has many qualities, the food is excellent, great choice of food to cater for all tastes, yes there are some abscure dishes but remember folks this isn't Blackpool!! There are many nationalities staying at the hotel. Its clean and cool.
The rooms are ok, not top notch but then again look at the price you pay, the pool area is great, no rush for sunbeds in the morning, lots of space and the kids love the slides and wave pool, my 10 year old was in the pools all day mixing with all the kids from all countries and loved it.
the mini-club looked good too, lots of kids joining and the staff treated them like gods..
The snack bars around the pool were excellent, fresh food all day and friendly staff.
Animation team were very friendly, never in your face - the evening entertainment was a mix of very good and some poor stuff but on the whole ok. The waiters and reception very friendly, English isn't their first language folks but they try their best and we never had a problem, in fact they go out of their way to please you.
Drinks flow all day for those who want it (the crowd from Leeds certainly got their money worth!!), lovely lady making pancakes by the pool all day deserves a medal.
The hotel has a gala night which was great, plus a weekly market by the pool.
Outside dining was great too - Italian well worth a bash.
The beach is long and busy and right on the hotel, the sea was like a warm bath - lovely!
The resort is quiet and the heat in August was a little uncomfortable but please do not be put off by the whingers......... Khundu is great vaue for money and i would defo return.

Room Tip: we stayed in 8216... great view of the hotel and sea

This has been our second holiday to Kervansaray Kundu with our children and extended family. We stayed here for two weeks and the children thouroghly had a great time. Things we did enjoy were the fact that it had 5 pools and so you didnt have to wake too early in the norning to lay down your towels and same went for the beach too. we loved the fact you could walk from the beach to the pool at any point and Lara beach itself is beautiful. The food was great with a varied variety to suit everyone, particularly if you like meat then you'd have know complaints. we liked the fact we had the option of choosing where to eat during lunch rimes as we did not always want to go into the food hall and would visit the snack bar for a quick lunch.
The staff are friendly and always wiling to help, the animation team were very friendly and would always invite us to join their games whether it be bowls, darts, water polo etc...

The mini disco although repetitive my children joined in many times and found it fun. The evening entertainment i would say is the standard like most hotels, we had the usual audience games, comedty nights to Turkish night, acrobats and so on.
the Piano bar often gets busy once entertainement is finished for the evening where you can get a drink but the queues are often long with a bit of a wait.

The location is good, though if you would like a trip into Antalya, the town centre it will take roughly 45 mins by a dolmus, ( bus) this is much cheaper then a taxi, just under a £1 per person.
I would say whilst having a walk out of the hotel, there are more grand hotels compared to kervansaray kundu. I think the hotel needs updating in all areas inside and outside, i.e, the rooms could do with a new decor, including a new bathroom and the carpets are totaly worn out too.
Besides everything else, we did have a good time and the children really enjoyed themselves.

We,ve just arrived back after spending a week at Kervansaray kundu Aug 2012. Rooms kept clean. Pool was lovely but the wave pool could do with being on more than half an hour a day. Food was lovely had lots of choice. Hotel overall very good enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side are quieter.

we booked this hotel since my girlfriend stayed here 3 years ago, and had a good experience....but things have changed a lot, for the WORSE! it seems the management has decided to go cheap on everything....we stayed in other 5 star hotels in Antalya before and this is the worst experience!
1) food was terrible! there's a lot of food, mostly strange food that everyone just looks at but no one takes....and the ones we tried, tasted worse than McDonalds...soup is so bad taste like dish water.....and they served strange soup, like wedding soup or some weird lentil soup, not normal soup like Mushroom, chicken soup, etc....
the salads are all the same, and bad...very sour and no normal salads, just cucumbers and tomatoes...i don't understand why they have the same dishes repeated over and over on both sides...there's dishes of the same things, tomatoes, cucumbers, or tomatoes and cucumbers, or tomatoes cut up smaller and cucumbers.....where's lettuce, and other varieties?
the main dishes are the worst!! its like it's designed for kids, got lots of fries, potatoes, hamburgers, sausages, but no good meat and vegetables....and very bad tastes....i could only find one or two things each meal to eat.....sometimes i just eat cheese and bread as they are better than the main dishes...
outside they have the fresh foods cooked, but not enough cooks for the guests....we wait long time to omelets each morning, and evening for chicken or some BBQ meats....
my girlfriend wanted fish, but they had no fish for 4 days, until the very last day when we were leaving...
2) room was clean, but the bed sheet was terrible! like a cheap blanket instead of real bed sheets....the hotel went way too cheap on the room refurbishment...AC works fine, contrary to some other reviews...but it gets a little cold so we had to turn it down, then it got hot and we had to turn it up again....but it works...
3) security - none to speak of....they took our luggage without giving us any receipt, and the luggage room was wide open and anyone can go in.....the in-room safe was not working....
4) beach - best part of hotel, but this beach is very very dirty......no one cleans it and lots of garbage.....the sea water has a lot of trash and debris too....
one thing pissed us off is someone stole our towels and our benches.....and there's not enough benches on the beach for everyone....also no security as many local Turkish people
5) staff is friendly and speaks English well enough (unlike some other guests who complained). it's true if you speak russian you can communicate better....
the guest relations is the worst!!! i tried to order flowers before I arrive to surprise my girlfriend, but they would not do it....saying i must do it in person as i need to pay cash...all the other hotels in Antalya would do it for me, but not them...and when I arrived, the person is nowhere to be found.....i never see her on her desk during my stay.... they might as well not have such person.....

overall value - not good enough! for the amount we paid, it should be much much better.quality and service!!!!.... it should be no more than 3 star hotel that cost less than $100 per night....management should be ashamed for ruing the quality of hotel from what was a great hotel 3 years ago to this sorry excuse of luxury....!!! We will never come here again!!!

Guest Relations M, Guest Relations Director of Kervansaray Hotels at Kervansaray Kundu Hotel, responded to this reviewResponded August 6, 2012

Dear Mr. Samuel,

First of all, we'd like to thank you for choosing Kervansaray Kundu among endless choices.
We are sorry to see your dissatisfaction with our hotel. We wish you consulted us first, and so we could have the opportunity to offer you different sorts of solutions about your complaint centers.
We'd like to inform you and (hereby you ) our other guests about our food variety principle:
Unlike most of coastal hotels in Antalya, our group hotels have an open buffet menu prepared for 2 weeks, by this way we get a food variety enough for providing all types of demands.

On the other hand,Kervansaray Hotels' main principle and target is to procure a complete guest satisfaction. That's why we take our bussiness to heart and attach particular importance to special requests of each guest. If we knew your dissatisfaction about the foods on your staying dates, we could afford you and your girlfriend a la carte bookings and the chance of eating in different ambiances and menus such as Italian,Turkish and Fish according to your taste and preference.

Additionally, as you can appreciate, each hotel has different concepts. Our hotel have not any outlet in the form of flower shop. So, we haven't got a flower service unfortunately. But upon request, you can order some flowers by consulting Guest Relations desk, choosing one of the choices from a brochure belonging to a company independent from Hotel and Hotel Management. The guest have to pay it cash and in advance, because the company receiving our orders bases on this type of payment procedure and it never accept any payment made by credit card. And we informed you about this procedure before your arrival date.

We hope , these lines would help you and any other hotel visiters and holiday planners.

We'd like to specify our sorrow again not to make you happy and to cause your misunderstanding involuntarily.

With the wishes of welcoming you again creating better memories at our resort.

Kind regards,
