Just spent two weeks at the Khundu, there are many negative reports on trip advisor and i just can't believe these people stayed in the same hotel.
Yes on arrival the hotel does not look as grand as many of the others along the beach however we have all seen the pictures and reviewed the hotels to death before booking so we know that the other MORE EXPENSIVE hotels on the beach will be slightly grander.
If you want to stay in the Delphin Palace then pay twice the price and go for it!
The Khundu has many qualities, the food is excellent, great choice of food to cater for all tastes, yes there are some abscure dishes but remember folks this isn't Blackpool!! There are many nationalities staying at the hotel. Its clean and cool.
The rooms are ok, not top notch but then again look at the price you pay, the pool area is great, no rush for sunbeds in the morning, lots of space and the kids love the slides and wave pool, my 10 year old was in the pools all day mixing with all the kids from all countries and loved it.
the mini-club looked good too, lots of kids joining and the staff treated them like gods..
The snack bars around the pool were excellent, fresh food all day and friendly staff.
Animation team were very friendly, never in your face - the evening entertainment was a mix of very good and some poor stuff but on the whole ok. The waiters and reception very friendly, English isn't their first language folks but they try their best and we never had a problem, in fact they go out of their way to please you.
Drinks flow all day for those who want it (the crowd from Leeds certainly got their money worth!!), lovely lady making pancakes by the pool all day deserves a medal.
The hotel has a gala night which was great, plus a weekly market by the pool.
Outside dining was great too - Italian well worth a bash.
The beach is long and busy and right on the hotel, the sea was like a warm bath - lovely!
The resort is quiet and the heat in August was a little uncomfortable but please do not be put off by the whingers......... Khundu is great vaue for money and i would defo return.
