Stayed here from 8/11 - 18/11, was a bit wary of the hotel already from some of the reviews then when we got there first impressions weren't to good as there was another Brit there complaining about there room being filthy when they have just checked in. So we were checking in and they tried fobbing us off with 2 rooms instead of 3 as we booked telling us we had only booked 2 instead of 3. Either way we checked in and went for a quick drink as it was quite late, found no staff spoke English so it was a quick 1 then up to bed. One of our party was also having a lot of trouble with her safe and it took 2 days to get the maintenance bloke to come up to unlock it. Over the course of the 10 days we realised there were about 15 Brits including us 5. Barely any staff spoke English and you couldn't really talk to anybody. The lobby is beyond huge, just loads of wasted space and the lobby bar is disgusting, it smells like somebody had been rubbing coffee into there armpits, it smelt like that every single day. The hotel seems to be stuck in the 80's with its neon lights and very very old music. The restaurant is very nice, different choices every night, especially liked the Turkish nights as there were lots of kebabs. Breakfast was alright, as you would expect with most foreign places it's more of a continental breaky, couldn't really complain. the beach bar was good, nice choice of food, plenty of space to chill out and was set out nicely. The beach had a lot of sunbeds but was covered with ciggy butts, the water sports are a bit of a rip off as it cots £30 for 10 mins on the jet ski but where I live you can pay that and get a half hour, other than that it was good to go for a swim. The pools are poorly designed IMO. There is a quite pool at the side of the hotel which gets covered in shade my late afternoon so is pretty pointless, the main pool with the slides is ok for kids as it is only 110cm deep which TBH is just stupid. When you ome down the slides you hit the floor and even when your swimming you can touch the floor. The wave pool is really made for younger kids the waves are more like big ripples but I suppose there all ok for a quick dip. There are 2 full size football pitches right in the middle of the grounds which I think is a complete waste of space as 1 of them only gets used for an hour at 4 for the guests to have a kick about. They really should have put a huge swimming pool whe the pitches are and just put 1 pitch up the side with a a 5 a side court. The spa...is brilliant had a Turkish bath on the first day which I enjoyed, also had a proper massage on my last day which was tip top, the girls make you feel welcome and know what there doing. The gym though is old and outdated, I did use it a couple of times while I was there but it's equipment looks second hand from the 80's. The indoor pool and jacuzzi are freezing, basically used it for a couple of laps then back into the sun. The rooms....are small with a small 12 inch fat back tv with about 3 English channels so it was either the news or the news.

Overall I wouldn't stay here again, I would pay the extra 100 or so and stay at the miracle next door as it looks and sounds stunning

Room Tip: If you ask specifically for a sea view.....all rooms partially have a sea view so don't think yo...

Dear Ross,

Firstly, many thanks for sharing your opinions here.
Your opinions matter and they are the main opportunities to improve our service quality.

Your crisitism about ambiance is going to be evaluated by our Management Team.

Besides, your evaluation about the foreign language deficiency of the staff is a little bit thought-provoking, because our human resources strategy followed requires and involves not only certain content knowledge tests but also, foreign languages tests.

On the other hand, Water Sports Service is a service point extra-charged and has an independent management from our hotel, and in all info sheets belonging to travel agencies we share always the fact that " water sports area belong to other management and use of the service is extra charged" like other extra-chrged services.

As regards to Football Fields, we have many outlets and service points directed to many kinds of guests. As you can appreciate, our hotel is not only available for beach& sand holidays, but also for conferences, meetings, groups and footbal teams. The construction of football fields is not for wasting the public areas but for creating different activity areas for different profiles of guests. We expect your understandings on this case.

Like all other hotel areas, our Fitness Center is checked -serviced and renewed periodically.

We request your tolerance again for our short informing about the hotel concept.
Despite the points highlighted above, certainly all the service points marked out by your review are going to be checked and improved with reference to your evaluation.

With the wishes of welcoming you again at our hotel with better vacation memories.

Kind and warm regards,

Booked this as a last minute deal.... Arriving in the early hours and requesting an early check-in when we booked our holiday we really didn't expect to be kept in the lobby for 7 hrs in the ridiculous heat as the lobby doesn't have sufficient air-con. Yes, Med Hotels failed to request an early check-in for us yet it was clearly written on our booking form but not on the one the hotel had received but a hotel this size had no clean spare rooms? We were offered one room for the four of us but if we excepted we'd have to keep this room all week not guaranteeing that we'd have the other room anywhere near therefore could of been on any of the other floors. Also offered us a one bedroom villa with one double bed and a settee for four of us for the week but when viewed it was filthy (again another room left uncleaned yet everyone has to check out by 12). Also had broken mirrors and blinds and resembled the local swimming bath changing rooms. All in all had to wait 41/2 hours for permission from a manager for something to be sorted then a further 2 1/2 hours for them to clean a room! We was given a suite in replace for paying for x2 rooms (waiting for holiday company to investigate to see if we can get some money back). Apparantly check-in time in this hotel is late afternoon so be warned if you have an early flight and they really have little compassion that you've been travelling all night and have had no sleep! We witnessed many families not having their rooms available on arrival and feel that this is a regular occurance at this hotel.

* Most of the staff were rude and ignorant as didn't speak english and wouldn't even smile even if we smiled to them apart from the odd one or two.
* Beds rock hard with horrible hard waffle blankets.
* Air-con in rooms very good but if left on when you go to bed you will wake freezing in the night always best to leave air-con on when you leave your room then your room will be cool on your return.
* Food at dinner time was brilliant never repetitive always plenty of choice although breakfast was not brilliant only had once you'd be better to wait till 12 and go to the beach bar for early lunch food always fantastic!
* Entertainment ridiculously boring during the evenings spent the week listening to the Titanic's or the Mirage's music till 2.00am most nights (not mentioned in the brochure that we can hear it in our rooms), shopping or sitting in the bars.
* Pools chilly and the wave pool steps filthy never cleaned whilst we were there.
* Indoor pools closed therefore no whirlpool and jacuzzi closed all week for refurb in peak season!
* Beach covered in cigarette butts only plastic cups collected never saw the beach raked to remove the excessive amounts of butts nor any objects washed up on the beach were removed just left for people to walk over and I have so say one object in our path was revolting! If the hotel took responsibility in cleaning the beach every morning and every evening there really would be no problem.
* Local to all amenities better shops in Lara than in Antayla we went and wished we hadn't bothered.
* Hotel grounds very very big and if walking isn't your thing then don't book here as you WILL have to walk a long distance to get from the hotel to the pools and the beach ~ they will tell you there is a buggy yes that's right ONE buggy for this massive hotel therefore always full.
* Disapointing views from the balcony Kervansary doesnt have very pretty greenage other hotels have only of a night when trees are lit up. Needs to be landscaped and made more appealing. Water features filthy with what looks like stagnant water again lit up at night needs refurbishing.
* Hotel decor supposedly contempary but looks like Gatwick Airport not very cosy. Corriders to the rooms resemble something more at home in a prision.
* Spa was lovely, turkish bath amazing.
* Hairdressers brilliant actually blow dryed my hair to perfection and staff were very very friendly.
* The waiter in the a La Carte restaurant was very rude and didn't speak english nor did he try to communicate in anywayso when we were confused about what to order he snapped "NO!" and waved his arm.... What food we had was good but he ruined our evening.

Complained to Customer Relations about our troubles. The manager started off very friendly leaving a letter in our room for us to meet her. I told her of the problems but when I refused to accept a complimentary 2 hrs late check-out and something else what sounded like a spa treatment and then refused to sign a form to say we'd have no claim against the hotel when we got home the Manager became very snappy and unhelpful.

Wouldn't ever go back to The Kervansary Hotel and would advise anyone else to pay a little more and go to a proper hotel where they make you feel welcome!

Room Tip: Viewed villa very disapointing Viewed standard rooms ok if you dont want a view unless you crick yo...

We just returned from 1 week vacation at this hotel,2 adults and 1 child 3years old. Arrived around 8pm, check in was quick. First impresion of the holel was OK but not immpressive. Lobby was not enough chilly, and coridors leading to the room terribly hot. This hotel looks and feels like an airport ,having in mind that all surrounding hotels are thematic. Doesn't have warm and welcoming feeling but more cold and like airport terminal . Thee are some poinths that definitely need renovating .
Arrival at the room on 7th floor was not impresive as well, it was more dissapointing. The only good thing was the view we had. It was spacious but not a 5 star standard. In 5 stars hotel you can not see scrached and ruined floor, big brownish stain on the sealing from the aircondition, stains on curtains and terrible tiles in the bathroom. Even spacious as well , bathromm is not functional as well. Bathtube is so disfunctional! Shower is placed in a hole so if you want to take a shower of your child you must go into it as well, otherwize it is not possible to reach the bath tube. Tiles in that hole arround the bathtube were discusting, I didn't even want to watch. Towels were clean and replaced almostevery day and same for bed sheets. There were cups and coffe maker which was good to relax in the morning. The bad one is that cups after maid clened the room were all with black spots and coffe leftovers on the rim of the cup.
Food was the only good thing, plenty of it and lot's of variety.Except the indoor restaurant there is outdoor one and food is prepared there as well. Staff was friendly and always eager to help. Bad thing is that srevice is buffet style (we knew this before we go there, and all area functions in this way) but if you get late, then you have a trouble to find a seat.Staff didin't come once to assits to guests at least to be placed on theit tables.
Pools- we used them only once . Wave pool was so dirty. if you want to go intoit there are stairs which were teribly dirty, mold on the edges and fugue dark so it looked very dirty. Children's pool dirty as well and water in all pools very cold. This is most probably because there is sun only few hours after noon and after that both are under shadow ( childrens pool and relax pool). Relax pool was the only one that seemed the cleanest.
Beach was big and spacious but there are 2 areas with sunbeds. One on the left with nice wooden sunbeds with shadow .We never went there as it was always taken at 9.30am.From the right side plastic and broken sunbeds, dirty never cleaned from beverages that were spilled onto . Silly umbrelas that I have never seen in 5 star hotel. All ripped out and broken with big wholes so you never get complete shadow due to the wholes on them.
There was beach bar , which was ok,pleanty of delicious food served during the day.
Distance from the hotel to the beach is minimum 5 min walking which is too much on that burning sun.Good thing is that there was golf car ( like a shuttle) from 9 am to 6 pm.
Sea was ok,not the best. One thing that bothered us very much was distance from the sunbeds to the sea. In normal weather conditions you wouldn't mind but in such a hot wether it was annoing.I think they should put wooden path so people would not burn their feets. Even if you walk with filp floes you feel like you walk on the gril as sand is extremely hot. Very inconvenient if you are with a child and you must carry in your hands every time when you want to go in and out the sea.
Animation so disapointing. There was mini disco from 8.30 to 9.30 and after that untill 10.30 pm some shows which were not quite entertaining. After that you have nothing to do.In comparison to this other surrounding hotels were entertaing much more.
Kids facilities were poor. There are 2 kids corneres one in the hotel and one by the activity pool. The one in the hotel was auful,3 plastic houses all broken and dity.. nothing elese. On the pool , I took my child once just for 5 min and we left.Tables and chairs dirty, placed on dirt, leftovers everywhere and it looked like no one had intention to clean up a litle bit. I would never live my child to play in such dirt. Good thing ws the childrens park which was well maintained.
Overall, this hotel is deffinitely not 5 star, we gave it most 4 star. It is old and needs renovating. Also management need to pay attention on details in order to deserve those 5 stars that hotel is claimed to have. Staff although very friendly, they barely speak English. We would not go back In this hotel again.

2nd time we have visited Lara beach and 3rd time to Turkey. Two adults and a baby travelling. Last year we stayed at the Concorde resort which was amazing but we couldn't get the same deal do decided to try another.

We were impressed by the hotel at first appearances and the room was modern and clean. We asked for a cot and it was good quality and in the room on arrival.

Food was good with plenty of choice, especially freshly cooked fish. We used the beach bar, one of the highlights, for lunch, fresh varied salads, spit roast chicken, grilled fish (sea bass and mackerel) and traditional Turkish pizza and kebabs as well as burgers and hotdogs cooked on demand. They also served ice cream in the afternoons. Pools were clean, we spent most of the time at the quiet pool and had no problem getting sun beds.

We didn't find the lobby too warm although it did get hotter on the higher floors. We also managed to get wifi in our room 3242.

All in all a lovely relaxing break!

The hotel was lovely, the food was very tasty and varied, the animation team and the all staff was very friendly. We had an apartment wich was huge, with 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms and a terrace + balcony. The hotel, the rooms, the restaurants and the beach was clean.
Liked best : food, animation team, beach, pools zone.
Thanks Kervansaray Lara Hotel (especially to Sirin Kartal Guest Relations Director)

for a beautiful holiday, we will definitely return next year!

Room Tip: Corner suites are large and sunny( we stay at 8-th floor ), the landscape was fantastic!

Had the misfortune to have to stay at this dreadful hotel for one night due to a delay. A previous review has suggested the Manchester passengers criticised the hotel because they were upset at having been delayed. Nothing could be furthur from the truth. We were all just disgusted with this fleapit. It was like a furnacen- air con in lobby! A terrible smell of vomit hung around some of the bars and our sheets had mould on them. The bath was filthy. If the accomodation had been clean and the food edible we would not have minded. I lived on chips for the stay-one morning at breakfast I put some butter on a bun only to discover it was rancid. The waiting staff also seemed to have an aversion to serving British people. Cannot believe Thomson Holidays are actually selling this hotel next year-pity the poor rep who acquires this accomodation. Save your hard earned money-go anywhere but here!

Dear Westieman,

First of all, we'd like to thank you for sharing your opinions here and giving us the opportunity of getting a feedback. All our guests' opinions really matter us and our Management approach is completely based on the aim of getting the most of guests' opinions for improving usual service quality.
We learned from your review that you spent only one night at our hotel. For evaluating totally a 5 star hotel equipped with many outlets and service points, one night is not a measure. First of all, we'd like to inform you that our airconditioning system works 24 hours without any pause in the summer periode. We examined our past records of technical service but not fixed a technical failure about AC, consequently we really could not understand the reason that makes you feel disturbed. But, for any reason whatever if we gave you that impression, we're so sorry.

Normally, our room cleaning service process is as follows: All rooms are cleaned by maids and checked by Floor Supervisors. After that operation Floor Supervisors have to report the current status of the rooms to the Management. In case of any technical failure or deficiency of cleaning service, the room is allocated as "out of service" in the system. But if you can give your time to share your room number with us via mail, we'd be glad to search the current and past status of the room for checking our operating system also.

Thanks again for informing us about your accommodation.
With the wishes of welcoming you again in our hotel with better vacation memories and during longer period...
