we had a vry pleasnt stay at the Marmara Antalya. Every morning we opened the curtain, we had a wonderful blue sky, a beautiful view to the sea and the opposite mountains. The room was big enough for us four, the pool is amazing by ist size and even the rocky beach, which you Access through en Elevator and a tunnel, was great. breakfast, pool Snacks and dinner where very tasty.

We're on a Globus tour with 5 star hotels included. Exceptional breakfast and dinner buffets. Best of the trip so far. Ambience, par excellence. Accommodations are spacious with a decorating flare that borders on warehouse unfinished artist loft feel to bright sultanic colors that only Turkey can offer.

Room Tip: Globus arranged for ALL of our rooms to have Mediterranean/mountain view.

I stayed with my Wife and 4 yr old Daughter for one week. The Marmara hotel is about 25 mins drive from the airport in a quieter part of town amongst similar coastal modern hotels with some stylish but pricey bars and restaurants nearby. The building exterior is bland and almost non-descript with a rather gloomy lobby. However, staff are bright, helpful and fluent in English and the building inside is very pleasing. Our city facing room was spacious and very clean with plenty of storage and flat surfaces, the Wi-Fi connection was very good in the room and in communal areas throughout. The bathroom was very well equipped with twin basins and Housekeeping promptly and politely replaced a leaking shower hose. There were a couple of English channels including BBC on the flatscreen, the heating and A\C work very well.

Breakfast was a very pleasant experience with an extensive variety of cooked veg and non-veg offerings, the various pancakes and yoghurts are delicious. Breakfast is served in the large glass panelled dining area with a very contemporary ambience filled with stylish “easy” furniture, “art-deco”, lamps, books and even a pool table which are all great for a cool down session later in the afternoon. The two large swings are also an impressive feature, best suited for children really though! Breakfast can also be completed outside by the pool. The same dining area also serves a varied snacks (including pool-side service), lunch menu and dinner as well as a decent bar. There is only one (outdoor) pool which I think is one and half length – it is big but not heated and single depth throughout, the temperature was usable from around lunchtime in April, if not too wary ! There is also a small outdoor play pool for children which I think also had a “Jacuzzi” feature but I’m not sure how this was operated or if working. There are a handful of outdoor children activity sets including swings and see-saw in good condition as well as some large full size swinging benches for all ages. There is a separate rotating block next to the pool where guests can stay at a premium, something of a novelty as the entire structure slowly rotates throughout the day. The Spa and gym are both also very well equipped and maintained with long opening hours.

Beyond the pool is a large garden area which is very well maintained with shrubs, lawns and flowers leading to very pleasing views of the Med and mountains. As the hotel is towards a cliff, there is a unique lift which travels through the cliff down to the base for a very private sun-lounging area at the base of cliff. This is a very peaceful area as the Med waves flow into the rocks, a great sun spot with hardly any disturbance. There is the occasional distant boat and the sun direction is great with a diving centre at the other side of the cliff base. However, this is NOT a beach and little people (or even some big people) will be disappointed as they cannot build little structures here, there is no sand despite the hotel description and garden sign posts indicating “Beach”. The nearest beach is “Lara” about 20 mins taxi ride at around 40Euro one way so not really walking distance or practical for repeat trips. Lara beach is large but could benefit from some general clearing as some of the litter appeared to be exposed for some time. It is possible to walk to several coastal facing cafes and bars from the hotel. We also walked to the mouth of the Duden waterfall into the sea, this took about an hour or so but there are several pleasing view points with benches and children play areas as well as scattered bars and cafes for taking a break. The old town of Kaleci is well worth visiting at least twice , taxi cost is about 15Euros one-way. From the hotel it is also possible to walk to some larger bars, a small mall and supermarket in about 15-20 mins which is very practical.

Overall, a worthwhile destination, with options to travel out to further Roman\Greek historic sites by taxi. Otherwise the calm sea views and the variety of history, water and views in Kaleci will satisfy most, the food (and drink) is great everywhere!

Stayed at the Marmara Antalya hotel for two days with my family to enjoy Antalya city.

As we arrived with a rental car it was rather easy to find it via GPS navigation and no problems parking the car outside the hotel. However, no one could help us with our four large suitcases so we had to bring it in ourselves. Hm, that did not really set the tone for a five star hotel.

Inside we got quick help in the reception to check in and the bellboy escorted us to our room on the 18th floor. When exiting the elevator on the 18th floor we arrived into a pitch dark hall. The bellboy apologized and explained that most of the lamps were broken. 5 star hotel?

Entering our room and the beds are not made-up! The bellboy immediately called for the cleaning staff which arrived within five minutes, but still. Shouldn’t that have been taken care of before we arrived? Hm, 5 star?

The room design is in some art deco style but the general quality of the room is very low compared to other five star hotels. It looks more like an oversized prison cell with concrete walls painted pink… Maybe ex-cons will love to stay here?
The room we got was large with a king size bed, TV, minibar, etc. However, it would have needed a huge renovation/facelift since most of the furniture/equipment seemed worn.

According to the reception our room was having a wonderful city view. Well, looking right into other apartment buildings is not really my opinion of a “wonderful city view”.

The neighbourhood is okay and we went out for dinner in the surroundings.

The cleaning of our room was okay, except for the beds not made-up at arrival, but we missed some toiletries in the bathroom.

The breakfast was served as a nice buffet and was rather good which all family members appreciated. We never tried out the restaurant in the evening so I can’t judge that, but some other hotel guests I talked to had tried it and their conclusion was “overpriced”.

Free WiFi was offered and worked mostly well.

To summarize our stay at the Marmara Antalya: if you, like I, set your standards according to hotels like Hilton, Sofitel, Westin, Le Méridien and other five star hotels, then you’ll unfortunately be disappointed staying here. Try finding something else in Antalya that will fulfill your standards as this hotel will not do so.

Undoubtedly one of the best hotels I've ever stayed.....breathtaking views of the Sea... Brightly colored and spacious rooms, good food great service... All in all the most memorable part of our trip to Turkey.

Room Tip: Just make sure the revolving building does not block your sea view

We went there last September. I really liked the view from my room there. The rooms are nice and clean. The service and the staff are great. The only thing that I didn't like was having cats hanging around while we were eating our dinner (the buffet). In general, I will recommend The Marmara Antalya
