The Liberty Hotels Lara is definitely looking a bit tired, especially the rooms and the reception area, however if you get past this we found the resort a nice place to be for a few days. The food was very good and there is always plenty of it all throughout the day. Included drinks had plenty of choice, although the only criticism would be on the lack of ice included in the drinks.

The pool was cold, but still OK for a swim. The pool at the end of the waterslides was much warmer, which was a nice surprise after coming off the slides (which were a lot of fun).

The staff were very friendly and certainly seemed to make kids feel welcomed in the resort.

Room Tip: We stayed in a double room with sea view which was nice. Rooms without a view would also be OK given...

There isn't anything at all that we can fault about this hotel. We travelled as a family of 7 in May 2013 with ages ranging from 8 to 69 and all agreed it's the nicest hotel we've ever stayed in. The staff here work tirelessly to ensure you have the perfect holiday, from housekeeping to the entertainment team and everyone else in between. There are lots of staff we could mention but don't want to leave anyone out as one and all made our stay amazing. The hotel & grounds are immaculate thanks to a dedicated team who you see working round the clock. Before travelling we were slightly apprehensive about the food but can hand on heart say that we never failed to be impressed with the vast selection of food cooked freshly in front of you at every meal and given that we had a couple of extremely fussy eaters with us can say it's a first that at least one of us was not sat with just a plate of chips! The thing that made this hotel so special for us was the effort made for occasions such as the weekly black/white gala night where all the chairs in the outside part of the restaurant are swapped for 'posher' ones complete with chair covers & matching organza sashes and the party nights down on the gardens. It's the little extras like this that make this hotel so amazing and we will definitely be back!

My partner and I stayed in this hotel from the 24th September to the 4th October and I can safely say we were suitably impressed.
We found all staff to be friendly and welcoming even on our arrival getting a nice glass of champagne. The food was impressive as they cover and cater for most tastes albeit quite similar each night but with subtle changes, never once going hungary as there seemed to be always somewhere open to get food and drink. Only critiscism would be that the drinks in the all inclusive are all local, this meant that Pina Colada was a chargeable, but we did find other cocktails to our taste.
Our rep for thonmson, Gemma bless her was great and did not shove things at you, she gave you all information and let you pick what you wished to do, however beware of the local turkish bath package (not the hotel one) and if you pay for a package do not have any extras while you were there as we got caught out here and payed double for a massage and found out by talking to others this was the same as they received under the original package only slightly longer.
Although not always apparent there is a great bus service into Antalya town from th bus stop across the road from the main entrance (Bus number LC07) this will take you appox 30 mins into town for 2 Lira or 1 Euro, (2 Lira cheaper) each way, shopping in the town haggling is easier although there are a couple of local shopping malls that are not bad but better bargins in town (barter in Turkish Lira as when the exchange rate is favourable you get a better deal).
all in all a great hotel and enjoyable 10 nights. Rooms were a little dated but hear they are modernising in Jan 2014, would easily go back again.

Room Tip: try to get a room west facing as these seem to be the nicest view although sea views on both sides...

This is our fourth visit and can honestly not praise it enough! While i appreciate we all have different expectations and opinions when i read other reviews i think we are staying at different hotels!
The cleanliness and friendliness at this hotel can't be disputed i have never seen any insect! The staff are excellent and for us umit, kazim, servet, mustafa, speedy and mehmet ali went out of their way to ensure we had all we needed, but to be fair all staff were fab!
The entertainment team presented notre dame show with guest appearance from umit and elvis it was great and they also made sure the hotel was lively without pressure to join in activities.
The food selection was excellent and i would defy anyone to say they had no selection of food or choice of restaurants!
I can't wait to return!

Holiday at the Liberty for a week from 20th September. This is a small hotel by Lara beach standards and one of the older, which is why an upgrade of the hotel is imminent, so dont expect too much in the way of so called 5 star facilities. I believe at the moment it is lagging well behind other hotels such as the Delphin Palace which we stayed at last year.

Lets start with the positives and I can say they have quite a lot. Its only a 15-20 minute transfer from the Airport Friendly staff in the main, special mention to Minnie Mouse who was great and very friendly, and Abdullah for excellent service in the Bars.

The food choice for breakfast was excellent the egg station guy worked very hard and you did not have to wait long so well done. I like help yourself as choosing what to have is part of the enjoyment. Lunches were always excellent try one of the beachside stations like the fresh baked Pizza or the chicken. The Pasta served up near the pool bar for lunch was 5 star as is the wine, which is in bottles already on your table, just let the waiter know which type you want and they will uncork it.

Always plenty of bottles of water as well so you wont be chasing round for some. Try the soups they are delicious especially the Tomato. Dont forget to have an ice cream in the afternoon or a cake, all provided in the all inclusive, just pop along to the little huts in the grounds

If you want to eat in one of the a'la carte restaurants book when you arrive or you may miss out. The Italian Bellini's was fantastic, 6 courses and all so tasty and fresh.

The rooms I thought were a very good size but a bit in need of a revamp. However the bed was very comfortable and huge. Nice little balcony and a sea view. The mini bar was restocked with beers water and soft drinks every day. Towels changed as and when you needed and the beds changed regularly as well. TV gets you BBC World news etc

The Entertainment team worked very hard and shows were put on in the open amphi theatre most nights. However if you want a quiet night low key there are plenty of little corners you can find,

The pools and sunbed situation is fine always plenty of room either round one of the pools or on the beach. Excellent kids pool area as well as adult quiet pool plus a huge main pool.Fresh towels every day

Make time to check out the shops for designer(maybe) bags clothes watches etc. You can get English papers daily in the hotel. If you need a pharmacy one is a short walk down the road. Go and see the cats who are well looked after and have a very nice room in the grounds

Negatives, Dinner at night was usually very same as the night before with a few small changes. Themed nights wer only just themed, on french night the only french thing I saw was onion soup and waiters dressed in a different colour uniform.

If you found a dish you liked for your main course when getting your starter, watch out as it may have all gone by the time you get to it and turned into something else, not a refil of the same. I was going to have strips of beef and peppers one night and when I went to get it after my soup, it had turned into fish.

The bathrooms need upgrading dont get me wrong they are clean but tired. Take your own tissues as none are provided amongst the vast array of other goodies such as sewing kits, shoe horns and loads of bathroom bits and pieces like cotton buds, shower hats and shampoo.

Overall dont be put off by the outside of the hotel when you arrive and compare it to the massive Royal holiday palace next door, inside its mostly a little gem, but in need of some TLC.

This is our 2nd trip to Lara beach this year, previousy staying next door at the Baia Lara. Having seen the Liberty and noticing the vast amount of entertainment and 'life' coming from it we booked ...got back yesterday and this is what MY opinion is..It is only an opinion. I think the Staff work their back sides off and are very friendly....The hotel itself is i think a little 'tired' unfortunately this was not reflected in the price of the holiday. Great people...Goof entertainment, Fabulous food, at night that is - a little samey during the day but at night the outside 'cooked-to-order' was fabulous..fresh and tasty... I have learned that the hotel is to be refurbished in Jan/Feb 2014 and yes it needs it in places. That said though the hotel I very clean and the room staff were excellent. Would I return ? Yes once the refurb has been done. Would I recommend it? Yes again when the work is complete but i believe the prices should have reflected the 'state' of the place. As i said, nothing drastic- just tired and worn. Apart from that we had a good holiday. There was some confusion regarding the transfer back to the hotel, not the fault of the hotel and the so called 'rep' who was meant to take control did NOTHING..she got on late and sat at the back and said or did nothing for the duration of the journey ..totally disinterested in her job and company - Not what Thompsons would want to hear but think they should. She quite frankly didn't deserve the uniform. The Rep at the hotel on the other hand was perfect.....

This was our first trip to turkey we usually stay in Greece or Portugal. Flight and travel to hotel were ok and had friendly staff explaining customs etc.
We went past a lot of impressive hotels on the way to Lara and were a bit aphrensive when we saw her nestled between two giants, as soon as we entered the reception we were greeted with a glass of champaign and a magnificent view, I was awed by the interior. The usual wait for booking in that you would expect and then off to our room.
We had a twin room, we just pushed the beds together and the maid turned them into one big double bed:)
Nice clean room with mini bar filled daily and different animals made from our duvet each day with carnation petals, we used to guess what it would be every day when we got back in.
Bathroom was lovely with all the amenities you would need as well as soap and gels.
All the bar star at the 3 bars that were open were friendly, we went to the night time disco a few times, on our first night we have no idea what time we left or what we did, except when the bar staff saw us both the next day and started laughing. Brilliant staff.
Outside was mostly closed due to the season, we did see a lot of work as the pools and bars were being opened.
We made our own entertainment and with another 5 couples who we met at the hotel made every day fun, playing volleyball or singing songs in the bar.
Food was always available with a large choice, I am sorry i did not make use of the outside stir fry which smelt wonderful and if you ask nicely the chefs will make you something fresh.
The spa was full of friendly Staff and we did use the indoor pool often and the sauna, next time the Turkish bath. We used the barber shop and you must ask for your ears to be done :) make sure you video it.

In all we loved the holiday and meeting our new friends, we have just booked to return next April 2014, this time for 2 weeks. Who will we meet this time, who knows. Roll on 2014.
