“Amazing holiday!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2014 via mobile

Where do I start! Best hotel I have ever been too!!
The flight from Manchester was fab with thomas cook loads of legroom with our own seat back Tvs and a beautiful inflight meal! Very relaxing chilled out flight!!
On arrival at the royal wings we did find the reception staff abit unfriendly and not very interested in us arriving infact I don't think we even got a hello! The staff on reception seemed uninterested the whole time we were there but they were in the minority as the rest of the staff in the hotel deserved the 5star rating!!

We had a duplex family room on the 10th floor which was great, a twin room downstairs with full bathroom and upstairs a double bed with a small shower room and toilet! The only thing I would say is if you like sitting on your balcony on your holiday as I do then this is not the room for you! These rooms are in the roof of the hotel and only have a very small balcony which you can't see over when sat down!! Rooms were immaculate and very well presented and cleaned everyday! The mini bar was also restocked daily with beer pop and water which was great!

The food was amazing with soo much choice!! Breakfast wasn't my favourite as I got abit sick of eggs on toast after the 3rd day and I found myself eating pastries with custard filling for brekkie which I would never do! But hey your on your holidays!!! They were just soo yummy!!
The snack bars round the pool are great your could get kebabs, pizza, jacket potatoes, cakes, fruit, ice cream and waffles!! We also ate at the snack shack at the beach 3 times for lunch which was a nice change to buffet as it was waiter service but very relaxed and informal!
The meals at night were amazing!! Every night was a different theme with Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Turkish, fish and international nights all in 1 week! It's hard to choose my fave night but would probably say Chinese!! The standard of the food is brilliant and soo much to choose from! I didn't once struggle to find something to eat, if anything I struggled to find space in my tummy for all the food I wanted to try each night!! I'm also not much of a pudding person but the cakes were soo yummy I was having pudding every night! And as I said earlier sometimes for breakfast!!

The pool area and the hotel were always being cleaned the staff work non stop and it shows in how well presented the hotel is! Nothing is out of place!

We spent most nights before our tea outside on the terrace by the lobby bar, this was one of my favourite places around 6.30 as the sun just starts to go down and it looks out right across the hotel grounds, waitress service for drinks and they always bring you crisps and nuts to snack on!! Very relaxed and nice way to chill out before tea!!

After tea there's entertainment in the amphitheatre from 9.30 then everyone goes to the pool bar, we only went a couple of times to see the shows as we were with a 4 year old who wasn't interested in sitting watching entertainment! He was happy over at the pool bar playing on the dance floor with his new friends while we watched and sipped the cocktails!!
The waterpark for him
Is amazing so many different slides and the funfair is great also! I liked the fact it was away from the main pool as it have the sense of going out somewhere when visiting the water park, it made a change in the day. The beach also was great lots of shade and had a constant breeze which was a blessing! There was a bar on the beach where your could get a your drinks which was also included in the all inclusive. On the beach there is a royal wings watersports area where you can book Trips out or banana boats etc and all were reasonably priced!

I honestly can't recommend enough and have already looked at going back next year, thinking of trying the sister hotel the holiday palace but so scared I won't like it as much as royal wings!! Will defiantly be returning to the royal hotels chain thou!!! Miss it already!!!

My husband and I enjoyed our first visit to Turkey from 8th/19th June. The Royal Wings hotel was recommended to us and we found it to be first class. I had requested a high floor room but,on arrival, was given a room on the second floor. Although it was a nice enough room we asked for a move and two days later we were moved to the sixth floor. This room was lovely with a double bed, single bed, seating area and a small but adequate balcony with a beautiful sea view.
The hotel is very nice, the grounds are fabulous with lovely, very well kept garden areas. The beach is immaculately maintained but my favourite area was the pool and the jetty at the beach. The pool is huge with lots of different areas catering for different guests' needs(kids pools, activity pool, quieter pool etc). Lots of sun beds and an amazing waitress on roller skates whizzing around with a full tray of soft drinks. The jetty is an area built from the beach to above the sea. Guests can lie on the sunbeds and watch all the water sports. Fabulous!
The food in the dining room is excellent, lots of choice, very fresh and beautifully presented. The food around the grounds is wonderful too. From the fruit bar to the coffee and cake bar, the kebabs and the pastries are all amazing. I liked the food in the Snack Shack near the beach, the soup was always lovely and the coffee was the best in the hotel. My husband and I booked the Turkish restaurant for our A la carte night. It was very nice with lots of tasters and very nice fruit at the end of the meal.
The all inclusive drinks were excellent, the cocktails very nice and lots of choice. The entertainment was very good, the team worked very hard to ensure the guests enjoyed themselves. The party night in the gardens was particularly good with good music, lots of cocktails and shots and everyone up for enjoying themselves!
Our holiday was wonderful..this is definately not our last.visit to Turkey.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor

Myself and my husband stayed at this hotel June 7th-14th. Like many other people we agree the place is spotless, the food great quality and a fab pool, BUT... We feel it is better suited to families with children as there are no bars or restaurants nearby and no places to go for a walk. Outside on the main road there was a bad smell of sewage and opposite the hotels it looks scruffy. The resort of Lara is all hotels and expensive shops, there are no bargains out there to speak of. We went to Kaleici, in Antalya on our last night and had a wonderful meal at the Vanilla Lounge, we loved the atmosphere there and wish we had gone sooner, but if you have children and like the all inclusive set up you will have a great time here.

Just back from 2 weeks at Royal Wings.. had the best 2 weeks ever.. The pool and water slides are great.. The food and drink round about the pool and water slides area are excellent.. the fun fair is mainly for 5 and under tho.. The main restaurant is a little daunting at first but it's just due to the sheer size of it.. After day 3 u get the feel for the place.. The food is good and the meat, chicken, Turkey etc is excellent.. If u are a fussy eater there is so much food that you could not not find something.. The rooms are spacious and spotless and the mini bar is free and filled daily we stayed on the 7th floor and our wifi did work in our room.. The entertainment along with everything else was great the entertainment team work really hard and are around the pool and bars letting u know what's happening. I did find the toilets round the pool a little smelly and if your hair is any kind of length at all I'd say take your own hairdryer as the ones in the room are useless. on the Web site it says the hotel has a no iron/kettle policy but we did have a kettle in our room.. We tried to keep our room on for the day we where leaving its 10€ an hour and we approached the reception desk a couple of times and they tell you nothing and say you need to come back the morning your leaving.. on the morning we where leaving we checked again at reception and told the hotel was full which was pretty disappointing we should have been told when we asked as they would have known.. In all we loved it my boys are 6 and 8 they did the 3 day scuba diving in the pool and loved it.. It was extra but it's worth the money and you get a dvd at the end a really nice momentum of our holiday.. We've booked for the same time next year..

We've just returned from a week at the Royal Wings Hotel with our two children (aged 13 and 9). I was a little nervous before going after reading some of the bad comments on here but that fear was soon to be dismissed.

Check in was very easy, as our rep explained, the hotel reception like to keep a copy of your passports so this was the first process that only took 5 mins. We were then given two room keys and a booklet on the hotel showing a map and layout of the entire site. The luggage was taken to our room for us within mintues. We were lucky enough to be on the 9th floor with amazing sea views - being on the 9th floor wasn't a problem as there are 6 lifts. In the pack we were given with the keys, there were some towel cards. There is a towel change facility on site where you taken the number of cards you have (one per person) and can change your pool towel daily. This facility is great as it saves having to take the bulky towels on holiday.

The pool areas are amazing. There was never a problem being able to get a sun lounger, there are plenty of sun umbrellas and the areas are kept very clean. You will need flip flops or crocs as the floor gets very hot to walk on in bare feet (as does the beach). Much to my surprise, my kids weren't too bothered about the slides and lazy river. The lazy river is very small and so would probably be better for children younger than mine.

Food and drink wise - diet before you go! Ignore any reviews that say they were hungry or there wasn't enough to eat. That is nonsense. There is plenty of food and the quality is very good. The snack bars near the pool areas are great and very handy. We tried the Italian restaurant one evening - the quality of the food was excellent! One of my only grumbles about the food is that the ice-cream snack bar is only open for 2 hours in the afternoon - as there are so many families on holiday with children, I think it should be open for an hour in the morning too and perhaps longer in the afternoon.

We found the staff to be great. We didn't experience any rude staff and those that didn't speak much only didn't because of the language barrier. They still exchanged friend nods of the head.

There are activities on daily. We didn't use the children's club as we've never been into that sort of thing but we did have a go at some of the activities (archery every morning, shooting in the afternoon for which a certain member of staff called Sonner deserves a mention - a very pleasant, nice young lad). Also, the water aerobics late morning near the pool bar is a must for all ages - Mr Alex will certainly entertain you and although it looks easy, my legs knew about it the day afterwards. Yes, the entertainment staff try to encourage you to join in but only if you want to - not once did we feel pressured to do anything that we didn't want to do. It's annoying that some reviews are very critical of them - they don't have an easy job and from what we saw, they were all very pleasant and looked like they were genuinely having fun in their jobs.

There is entertainment on each night in the main arena, after which everyone is invited back to the pool bar (go to the pool bar during the day, Fatih (pronounced Fatty) the barman is very friendly and was chatting to our 13 year old son) - we didn't go back to the pool bar as it was too late for my daughter. We could still hear the music from our bedroom but it wasn't so bad that it stopped us getting to sleep. There entertainment shows vary, some nights it is the onsite entertainment team that provide the show, other nights there is outside entertainers (an excellent magic show one evening and acrobats another when we were there).

The bedrooms were clean and well laid out. The carpets are looking a little well used and the hotel will have to be careful that they don't start looking too tired. The beds were a little on the hard side but not the most uncomfortable that we have slept in whilst on holidays. It certainly wasn't bad enough to spoil the holiday. The towels were changed daily, if required and the cleaners can work magic with a towel to make it into the shape of swans, hearts etc which delighted my young daughter.

There is free wi-fi in the hotel but don't expect great things. It works at it's best in the lobby or in some areas near the pool but it is slow!

On the whole, we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Royal Wings and are seriously considering returning. None of us were ready for home at the end of the 7 days. If you've never been to Turkey don't worry too much about currency - they accept anything and most things are quoted in euros rather than Turkish lira.

Room Tip: Sea facing views are beautiful.
