“Wonderful but distant”
Reviewed June 29, 2010

I am just back from a weeks stay at IC Green Palace, Antalya. I along with my partner very much enjoyed our stay there as you could not fault the cleanliness, service from staff or the quality of the rooms.

On arrival at the resort of Lara we where very much apprehensive after seeing the other hotels on the beach front en route. All the hotels in the area are amazing and cater for everything. Once we arrived at the hotel we where amazed by the size of the front reception area with the painted dome shaped roof.

Our room during the stay was spacious and comfortable with a free mini bar and excellent toiletries. The room was always very clean and mini bar stocked up daily.

As previously read on other posts we did have slight doubts about the hotel due to the popularity of the hotel with non brits. We soon realised that the hotel was indeed very popular with russians, germans, dutch and eastern europeans. We ourselves are scottish and during our time there heard very little english speaking people. Although the hotel has great food and is plentiful at dinner time be sure to get in first as you will find most of the good food has clearly gone to waste by other residents who are very greedy and need platefuls to eat.

I gave the location 3 out of 5 due to the hotel being a 10-15 min taxi ride away from the deserted shops of lara. We enjoy going a walk and getting out of the hotel for sometime but it was not possiable to go out as we where that far away and also i wouldnt recommend to walk around lara at night due to it being so quiet.

I would recommend that you use the dolmush (turkish bus) for only 2 lira to antalya and visit the town of kelici which is picturesque and stunning, with the old cobbled streets full of shops selling everything running downhill to a nice harbour where you can bargin for a boat ride of the bay.

The entertainment at night was very good, and the staff where very friendly and helpful.

Hotel staff would bend over backwards for you which is great because you are on holiday, but put up with the other forgein residents being very rude, demanding and not polite at all.

Our stay overall was extremley good and i would recommend it to anyone, a very cheap holiday overall not much to spend money on.

After reading other reviews I was a bit dubious, but then I know some people will find fault with anything and everything! We absolutely loved our week at the Green Palace. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful even when we arrived at 4.30 in the morning. Such a huge choice of food constantly, and they are very generous with the amount of alcohol, so if it wasn't all inclusive it would have cost us loads! Only a few mins walk to the beach and 20-30 mins transfer from the airport, this hotel has many plus's.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

We booked IC Green Palace as a last minute deal and then saw some of the previous (negative) reviews but kept an open mind.

We stayed for one week and only wish we could have been there longer. The location is perfect only 20 minutes from the airport, yes the hotel shops are more expensive than local but they are only a short (2 mile) local bus ride or taxi ride away - both a fun and inexpensive experience. The gardens are beautiful

As English we were in the minority and most guests were Russian we would not say they were rude but maybe a little brash however they never bothered us.

Food and drink wise we cannot fault the hotel, there are a number of a la carte restaurants and we found no problem in booking these visiting four in the week we stayed (favourite was Mexican), the main buffet restaurant catered for everyone and we could not fault it. Also the sunset snack bar where service was quick and staff pleasant (and we aren't Russian!!).

We chose not to participate in any of the animation activities but did see the shows which were very professional. We never felt pestered into joining in any activities and were left to laze around the pool or beach. With regards to the pool it is true that beds are reserved (staff are supposed to prevent this but don't appear to) however 6am is stretching it - there were plenty of beds available around the various pool areas still at 8am and the beach always had plenty of space with staff willing to move beds as required.

The room was perfect, spotlessly clean with mini bar replenished every day and toiletries provided. There was some noise (distant) from the outside bar/disco but when the patio door was shut this was mainly blocked out and in any event, ceased after 2am.

In all, our stay at IC Green Palace was wonderful and we would not hesitate to recommend it and hope to return in the near future.

The hotel and the gardens (very big and beautiful!) were very clean, the food was good and variated, the staff was friendly and polite to us(ever if we weren't russians!).They speak the basic english,so we had no problem solving any issue we had. I think 80% of tourists are russians and that's why all the staff speaks russian.
The beach was sandy, but sometimes at shore were little stones brought by the sea.A lot of sunbeds on the beach,we had no problem finding one. We could change the towels everytime we wanted. At the pools was a problem to find sunbeds, many people leaving their towels on them, but not using them actually...rude...But I think that's a general problem. We would return anytime to this hotel!

We were moved to this hotel due to over booking of the concorde which we booked, and this is one of the worst hotels ive ever stayed in!! The food was cold most of the time, the staff didnt speak english so you had to ask over 4-5 times for a drink they were very lazy and the other customers were very very rude so were the children, the kids club wasnt english either so my children couldnt go there!! It was a nightmare!! ITs also in the middle of nowhere and you do need to get a taxi if you want to go out anywhere. The shop was extreamely expensive and the whole hotel was over rated. One night there was bird poo in the sweetcorn bowl in the kids part so i moved it told the staff and they just scooped it out and put it back down!!!!!!

Beautiful hotel, great staff, good service but at the pool very loud music from the animation.
We hated the music there, way too loud and annoying announcements from the animationteam. we were blasted away to the far end of the pool or to the beach.
Every guest nowadays has his own MP3 for his favourite music. And the animation program can be announced on a sign at the entrance so only a short attentionsignal is needed. too bad that our stay at the beautiful pool was spoiled by this.
Very nice rooms, but also very hard beds!

Food very good, staff friendly, entertainment fine, rooms ok, pool areas and beach clean, short journey from airport, many outlets on complex open all day, even mini bar is topped up free every day.
stayed fo 10 days in june, did not see any drunks even though free alchohl available from 10am to late every day!
only drawback was the RUSSIANS, rude, greedy, no class whatsoever, no manners, their children are not under control, if you are not prepared to accept this dont go there.
if you are willing to tolerate them and get up at 6am to reserve a chair by the pool, go or it!
