About a hour and a half drive into the mountains offers a great opportunity to see Turkey. The rafting is very tame and thus suitable for children. Be prepared for lots of silly splashing and instructors pushing you in. This fills the time as there are few rapids. A decent lunch is included but not the price of drinks. Things to remember include insect repellant, sunglasses to stop splashed water into the eyes. Money for drinks and photos, these are a tad expensive. You don't need suitable shoes as these are provided. You must also have a change if clothes, there is no way you will be dry. Be prepared....the water is exceptionally cold compared to the air temperature. It's a whole day trip and offers good value.

It was one of the most amazing thins a did in Antalya, maybe because it was the first time to do rafting. I went with a local tourism company called Nirvana I think. A mini-bus took us from where we were staying in Kaleici and started collecting other people from other hotels and head to the north east of Antalya where the rafting river is. When we reached there, there were people giving us introductions and instructions about how to do rafting and we were divided into groups. The distance for rafting was almost 13 km divided into two sections and there was a lunch brake in between. I have two complains about it, first when they started picking up people, it took us 1.5 hours just to pick up people on the way to go and the same time on the way back. Secondly, the price for one person was 75TL and i found another office of the same company which sells it for 65TL!

It was fun. Put on suitable shoe because they will try to sell you rafting shoe with an unfair price. I went to rafting in Bali (Indonesia) and that was much better. Our leader was not very friendly and some times was impolit but we didnt care and enjoyed our journey. It wasn't trilling or very adventurous but I recommend it.

This was my best excursion out of all the ones I did whilst in Antalya. You must go rafting. The river isn't too deep and the water is clear and cold. It's great when it's a baking hot day to jump into the river or get pushed (watch out for the guide). Great fun down the rapids and water fights. The whole rafting last for almost 2 hours so its well worth it. I booked mine through the hotel (30 euros), but there are lots of tour operators so haggle for a good deal. Watch out, they will charge you for using their shoes. Buy a pair from the supermarket and also lock your valuables away as you will not be able to take them with you. Lastly, take a water proof camera and pack a small picnic as there food isn't all that.

We signed up for rafting with Dallas. We departed from Antalya, and were told it would be a 1 1/2-2 hour drive. We were picked up in front of the McDonald's, on time, but our next stop, the people were 1/2 hour late, then we had to wait another 1/2 hour at another stop. The drive took 3 1/2 hours. Finally, after arriving at the Dallas drop spot, we were suited with our gear. We were STRONGLY encouraged to rent the wet suits and shoes, since the river was cold. If you are used to Northern or mountain lakes and rivers, you don't need the gear.
The whole raft trip, with a lunch break, took about 3-4 hours.
DON'T bring small children on the rafts, it ruins it for the rest of the people.
It is not as exciting as trips I have taken on the American or Flathead rivers, but it was a great day!
