Really wanted to visit the aquarium, so while on holiday recently we went on a organised trip, and found it was ok, but not as great as we were expecting.

We have just returned form our Easter vacation and visited the aquarium on a cloudy day. We thought on entry that the price was steep (2 adults and 2 children @ £60) however accepted that we would spend the day inside. The inside is very smart and well set out. There was certainly plenty of space as the building was virtually deserted! The building is set out on 3 floors and when you get to the end of the 3rd floor you almost expect the tanks and fish to continue. However, you turn a corner and see the exit turnstiles!!! The whole experience takes less than an hour. The tunnels are great, the fish beautiful but we just felt a bit ripped off with the cost. Perhaps others are comfortable paying this but as regular visitors to Turkey we felt the aquarium should have been at least half the cost.

We were in Antalya just as this aquarium was opened in 2012. Having visited many aquariums around the world we were looking forward to a supposed "world class" aquarium in our Turkish holiday destination. Disappointed would be an understatement. The first exhibit after passing through the turnstile set the scene for the remainder of the visit. Whilst the fish were colourful and relatively healthy, all the "additions" to the tank to provide the environment were fake. Fake coral, fake, colours, fake rocks. Fake fake fake. There was not enough information about the exhibits, so anyone actually wanting to "learn" anything would be disappointed. Have a look on their website. No prices. No indication of price. Its not until you finally visit the ticket counter that you find out the "price". Again, of course there are prices for "locals" and prices for "tourists", but these are not displayed on any sign, pamphlet, or, as mentioned anywhere on their website. What is that all about? Visit any of the worlds first class aquariums (Baltimore, Tampa, London, Barcelona, Berlin Zoo, just to name a few) and you would understand why this aquarium is an insult to people that care about marine and underwater life. Save yourself the time, effort and money and don't bother with this one. The visit (as we were not locals) was not cheap by any stretch of the imagination, and even more painful to swallow after having seen what's inside. A visit to Pamukale is more of an effort but definitely better value.

Just like diving with sharks! Most of the info was in German. Could be better screen information. Exhibits were very well presented with very realistic wrecks and seascapes.

The aquarium is a new building. It has a cafeteria and McDonalds downstairs.
There also is a couple of cafeteria/restaurants at the top of the building.
There is also a Children's play-land at the top level.
We also saw two small pools at the top (without water now).

- Entrance to the Aquarium can be reached both from bottom and top of the building.

The entrance fee is far to high,- we payed 65 TL each to get in. (The price was in fact listed in US dollars!)
There is supposed to be an "Ice world" also, but so far it is not completed yet.

The aquarium itself is interesting, with both an airplane, a car and a ship within, along with the various fishes. Not many big fishes yet....

We have seen more impressive aquariums/water worlds. This price is too high.

We (4 adults) spent less than 1 hour inside.
Families with children would probably spend longer time inside.

At the exit you have to pass through the souvenir shop in order to leave.

We did not see any elevator, but we saw a sign so there probably is one somewhere in the building.
