Konyaalti Beach is an enjoyable day trip. It's convenient, on a bus route and an enjoyable walk from the old city. We discovered it on a trip to the museum which happened to be closed that day. The beach is long, wide and covered with pebbles, which are quite small, rounded and quite comfortable to sit or lie on. We were there during March and it was quite deserted. There were a few buildings, maybe concession stands. They were closed and we didn't investigate. It was a bright, sunny day but nippy. Although we didn't swim one brave soul was in for quite a while. We did swim at Lara beach but not for long; about 60 seconds. The view from Konyaalti is quite amazing, with the fishing and tour boats on the clear blue water and to the left a view of the snow-covered mountains. I would recommend packing a lunch and walking along the cliffs from the old city to beach for the day and taking the tram home .
