My partner and I booked with Thomas Cook, on a half board basis. In the brouchure the hotel looked absolutely beautiful, and when we arrived it did not disappoint. When we arrived we were shown to our room which definately lived up to it's boutique title. Whirl pool bath, power shower, hair dryer, well equipt kitchen area with microwave and fridge. Air con brilliant- definately needed it.
Breakfast selection was fantastic, wide variety of food and great times (7.30 til 10).
Our first meal on the evening was a bit disappointing. After reading excellent reviews we expected something really amazing, but there was not a great selection. Half board guests are required to use a card for extra charges such as drinks with the evening meal. However, we left ours in the room. When no one approached our table to ask us what drinks we wanted, I approached the bar and asked to pay in cash. Such a fuss was made! A waiter approached our table and told us that his boss was not happy with him because I ordered drinks at the bar rather than him coming to our table. When we said we want to pay in cash (which is what every other customer who are on bed and breakfast basis are able to do) it turned into a big issue so we just gave up. On a more positve note, the food the following few days was amazing. However this was not consistent. A couple we met fell ill after eating a chicken wrap, so i'd stear clear of the chicken! The selection of desserts was fantastic, however you need to get them early as flies and wasps swarm around them which is not very appetising.
Great location, bars and restaurants near by. Plenty to do. I really would recommend venturing out of the hotel for your evening meals, especially on the marina where you can get lovely fish and steaks at a really reasonable price. Great restaurant called Vanilla right by the hotel as you turn right out the doors. Frequently went to a bar and sheesha place called Kaptanin Yeri where I would recommend! Atmosphere and people were lovely.
Our last day was a big big big dissapointment. During our stay we booked up a Turkish Bath, of which we were entitled to free of charge twice a week through Thomas Cook.
When we came to pay our final bill we had been charged 112 turkish lira. When we question this charge the receptionist became very cocky and sarcastic saying that we had been charged this for the massage, which we had not been told was an extra 25 tl each. Our Rep got involved and managed to speak to the manager of the hotel who would only reduce the price by half, otherwise the police would be involved. Needless to say we were very very annoyed, so in the end we had to pay the charge, something which we were not informed of by reception when we booked the Bath.
At half five the staff start clearing away the sun loungers which is a bit of a pain if you're the relaxing type.
Other than that, our stay was very relaxing and pleasurable.
I would definately recommend this hotel, and I would also recomment half board basis, simply because it was about the same price for bed and breakfast. It was simply a convienience. Everything but the food and (occasionally) the service could be classed as boutique.
