“Excellent start to our honeymoon!!”
Reviewed November 9, 2011

We stayed here for 3 days during our honeymoon around Turkey. This was the first hotel on our honeymoon trip, and this hotel raised the bar so high for the rest of our trip.

We came to Antalya during quieter part of the year (Winter season), so the hotel was not full. We were upgraded to suite from our deluxe room. The suite was a bit tiny but very cozy and comfortable to stay in. The bathroom was rather small (around 2m x 2,5m area) but had complete amenities and was lined up with marble (a nice touch).

The hotel also provided a free dinner at their signature restaurant (Seraser). This restaurant is one of the best restaurant I have ever dined in. The decor was very warm and made you feel like home. The food was cooked perfectly, and the served dishes complimented each other during the cold winter night. So imagine eating 5-stars restaurant dishes with home-feel-atmosphere.

The breakfast was nothing special. They serve bread with several jams and ham slices, and also fresh juices. During our stay, they did not change the breakfast menu for 3 days straight. By the last day of our stay, I did not eat breakfast and purchased food nearby.

The hotel is located in the middle of old town. So getting around antalya should not be a problem for the guests.

Overall, we would come back to this hotel and recommend the hotel to our friends. The hotel makes you feels right at home.

My boyfriend and I traveled to Turkey for the first time and Antalya was first on our list. As soon as we arrived to the hotel late at night after traveling for over 24 hrs, we were greeted by a friendly receptionist, Ali, who welcomed us with wine and useful tips to getting around in Antalya. The actual room itself was cute and charming and very spacious. Despite what others have written about the breakfast, we loved it! The fruits, etc were very fresh and I couldn't have been more impressed. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone based on their friendly staff in the hotel and the restaurant, location and decor.

If you are driving to this hotel, then I strongly advise that you stop well before you reach the old town area, (Kaleici) and get a taxi driver to guide you there. Then you won't end up going the wrong way along the tram lines with a police car coming towards you in the other (right) direction. The couple who followed us into the hotel had a similar problem, only they met a tram coming in the opposite direction.
It's certainly well-situated for all the Kaleici area has to offer, and for the tram, of course, which we used to visit the superb museum. Don't miss it.
The room was very clean and comfortable, though with a view of other windows. The bathroom was fairly basic. This was the fifth hotel we stayed at on our travels, and the further south we went, the thinner and older the towels became. Odd, that.
We didn't get the opportunity to experience dining there, as we were both still recovering from our second bout of gastro-enteritis. And, anyway, the more superior restaurant there was out of bounds on the Saturday, as it was taken over by a wedding party. We enjoyed their loud celebrations into the early hours of Sunday morning. Breakfast, when we were feeling better was very nice, until it started to rain on us.
On the Sunday, a devastating storm hit the whole of Western Turkey, and quite a lot of the rain fell in Antalya, including the garden of the Tuvana hotel, in which was situated the only toilet we could use, having booked out of our room at 12, while we waited in the lobby for our transfer to the airport. So, in order to change our clothes for our flight, we had to wade across the squelching garden and under a dripping sisal curtain to get to the toilet, where the roof was leaking and the floor soaking wet. There was nowhere in the hotel to get any refreshments during the afternoon, though we could have poked our heads out of the door and drunk the rain; there was a plentiful supply of it.
Getting to Antalya airport was an interesting experience. The roads around the departure terminal were so flooded that at first I thought the other side of the dual carriageway was an unusually placed water feature. The cars in the airport car park were about to float away, and if our driver hadn't cleverly manoeuvred his way to a kerb, we would have had to wade knee deep with our luggage. ( As it was, when we got to Istanbul, our suitcases and their entire contents were soaking wet.) We managed to find a nice piece of floor to sit on at the airport, while we and several hundred other people waited for our delayed flights. Outside the storm raged; the rain blew sideways in the storm-force winds; lightning flashed; thunder thundered. Nothing landed: nothing took off. Four and a half hours later we did take off; a plane-load of silent passengers, silent until they emitted the occasional scream, as they gripped anything handy that seemed to be fixed.
If it hadn't rained, then none of those wet issues at the hotel would have occurred, and we could have waited by the pool or at one of the tables in the garden and been served from the pool bar.
In that storm of last weekend, people died, houses were washed away, crops were ruined.
We are back, safe and sound, with many great memories of our three weeks travelling around this fascinating country.

The hotel is very clean and decor is to a very good standard. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is situated towards the top end of the Old Town which is very useful for a pleasant stroll to the harbour area, or for walking to the newer part of the Town.

The hotel has two restaurants, one with silver service (Fine Dining) and another close to the Pool area. They are both good and serve quality food.

The hotel is actually made up of four different buildings, however depending on which room you have you will not be far away from the facilities of the swimming pool and breakfast area.

The breakfast is a self service style (8:00am to 10:00am) and is plentiful and with a good variety. There is a mix of seating with some under cover and some in open air. There is no smoking ban, so there can be some minor irritation for non-smokers who happen to be close to a smoker, however with the open air this is not as bad as it sounds and did not cause a major issue.

Rooms are cleaned daily and to a good standard. One minor point to note is that if you have the windows open (although there is air conditioning) you may have to adjust to and accept the call to prayer from local mosques (amplified through loudspeakers) just as day is dawning!

Overall a very pleasant and lovely hotel which helped make the stay in Antalya all the more special.

Room Tip: If you have a room that overlooks the dining areas then you can espect some noise from diners up unt...

Despite driving instructions this hotel is difficult to find as it is in the walled old part of the city. Luckily the staff is very friendly and able to assist when we asked a shop owner where the hotel was, a young man came running and drove us to the (complimentary) car park. We were then served cold drinks and shown to our room in one of the 3 Ottoman houses that comprise this property. The room was above the elegant restaurant which was not a problem but it was very dark inside. I think if some of the foliage on the Juliette balcony were cut back thsi might solve the problem. Wifi didn't work in the room but worked perfectly on the landing ouside which had comfortable sofas so this was fine for us. My main criticism is that the breakfast was very poor for a hotel of this standard. To serve cordial instead olf fresh juice (when oranges were in season, cheap and plentiful) is inexcusable as is a Nescafe machine (very downmarket.) Also, on the first day the milk left in a jug in the heat (non airconditioned breakfast area) was off and when I informed one of the staff there was no apology,The pool could do with some refurbishment as well considering the standard of the hotel. Otherwise we had a lovely stay here, not least due to the charm and assistance of the manageress.

My husband and I stayed at Tuvana Hotel in October 2010 to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary. The reason we chose this hotel was simply because of the reviews on Tripadvisor. I knew Antalya was one of the hottest areas in Turkey in October so I viewed all the hotels in Antalya on Tripadvisor and came up with Tuvana Hotel.

The hotel is set in a cobble stoned road and has a very traditional and quaint style decor. This suited me very well as I like traditional as well as modern, however my husband prefers modern so was not to his taste. Having said that he we both agreed our room was still decorated well and above all was very clean.

We arrived at very early hours of the morning about 13.15am and I must say the staff that were there to check us in did everything they could to make sure we settled in nicely. They even managed to get us a lovely juice of orange.

Our bathroom light was not working in our room when we arrived and again this was looked into straight away and fixed.

Breakfast was ok but it was all cold food like cereals, fruit, olives, tomatoes, and bread with boiled eggs and scrambled eggs being the only hot food. It is all very fresh but if you like good cooked breakfasts then you are likely to struggle a little.

Dinner on the other hand was extremely exquisite and was a set meal but I could not fault it. If you have any dietary requirements all you had to do was report this to receptions and you would be catered for accordingly. In fact the evening meals were so good we decided against going to the restaurant Seraser which we had planned for our Anniversary night simply because we knew we were guaranteed a good meal which was all paid for in our package as we did half board.

What to do and see - Although the hotel is not on the beach , there is a small beach walking distance and also a marina and loads of restaurants with a beautiful view. Or you can walk to town which is a minute away where there are loads of shops and a tram for you to get about. Alternatively you may just want to walk the cobble little streets. I think there is something for everyone to do and see.

The staff were very polite and friendly at all times too. I did speak to Omar generally most of the time and he was very lovely to speak to.

There is a computer with free Wifi access but note it is not as fast as what you may be use to at home. Other than that reading the reviews on Tripadvisor about Tuvana Hotel was a good idea and definitely helped me in choosing a very nice hotel for us to celebrate our 1st Anniversary.

I chose this hotel based on the reviews I read on tripadvisor, and it was the best choice I made all trip.

First, the hotel is in a perfect location, within the city walls, on a quiet street, and close to all the sights.
The hotel is very service oriented. You feel like you're staying at a Ritz but paying Holiday inn prices.
The pool is great if you need a quick dip, never busy and close to the restaurant bar.
The hotel restaurant is rated the best in Antalya, and tourist from other parts of the city travel here just to eat at the hotel...HOWEVER...the prices are a little steep.
Overall, a great hotel and a great value.

Room Tip: ask for upgrades, especially during the low season
