Sealife Family Resort
Ranked #15 of 234 Hotels in Antalya
Reviewed July 12, 2010

We were a group of 15 with 10 adults, teenagers and younger children. All had a fabulous time. The hotel is clean, rooms spacious and clean. There was a problem with number of rooms the first night we arrived but we were given a suite for that night and they were sorted the next day. Excellent staff helping with cases and bags!
There have been reviews saying the staff are unfriendly and don't speak english. I think they must have been staying at a different hotel! It may be good if these people who complain actually try a little bit of Turkish as they are in Turkey, (hello - merhaba, please - lutfen and thank you- teşekkür ederim are not that difficult to learn. If you try a few words the staff are more than willing to help you with pronounciation and you find they will even carry your drinks to your table!!!!! This was the same in the pool bar and the restaurant. Some people were so rude and would just point to what they wanted and would not even speak to the staff.
The food was good, even the fussiest of eaters could always find something, there were plenty of salads, fruit, and a variety of hot foods. The outside evening grill was good with excellent freshly cooked fish and meats.
The evening entertainment was good even though some of our party were busy watching world cup football instead! The karaoke system needs to be improved and upgraded but Sadiq karaoke man was great. Don't listen to the previous single complaint about him as he was great with children, adults and teenagers!
Good animation team with dancing, shooting, darts, table tennis, pool games etc all friendly and good fun!
There were not enough sunbeds by the pool but partly due to the fact that people reserve them by about 6am with towels and may not use them until the afternoon!! Maybe towels should be removed if not used for 2 hours! More beanbags would be good as these were comfortable to sit on.
We didn't get chance to sample the other restaurants as there were 15 of us we could only manage to book the chinese restaurant, which was then cancelled because of the Turkish night!
The spa was very good, I would recommend the bubble massage at the beginning of your holiday and also the aromatherapy massage, which was very relaxing.
Possible improvements would be a toaster in the dining room, Air conditioning in the gym, upgraded karaoke system used on the stage after entertainment ends, more themed nights (as the Turkish night was very good. )

I have tried to give constructive comments to help make this hotel even better but these are just minor things, overall it was excellent and I would recommend it.
Although I have a list of people who were great, friendly and helpful I don't want to name names as I am afraid of leaving people out but thanks to you all including managers, receptionists, bar staff, waiters, cleaning staff, karaoke man and animation team. Thanks also to the friendly owner, (hoped you enjoyed Bodrum). We met some great friends as well, keep in touch!
Thank you to all at sealife for making it a great holiday.
Hepsi çok fazla büyük bir tatil için

We stayed in Sealife Hotel on 11th of July for one week. Our flight was late and we were worried about arrive hotel in a late time.We offered transfer service from hotel. We sent email to hotel about it but we were not sure to they will reply our email..BUT we got reply from hotel 10 mins later about our transfer. The hotel staff Mr.Gokhan organised our transfer who was very friendly. When we arrive to hotel, the receptionist welcome was very polite and friendly but we were couple and they gave us two beds in room.I didnt say anything for first night becaouse we were really tired.

Second day in the morning,we contacted to reception and told our problem, they were very busy and we thought to contact with Gokhan. He came to reception for us who was very polite Turkish guy who found room for us immideately and changed our room to the sea view and one big bed room.He explained to us everything about hotel and Antalya, what can we do? where can we go?....Third day we bought waterfalls trip from reception, really we enjoyed it.Everybody has to see Antalya's waterfalls. They are amazing and if you like to eat fish there is a lot fish restaurants in there.Delicous fishes.

Hotel food was not very good but wasnt bad.It has normal buffet not high quality. On saturday there was Turkish Doner at the snack bar.I think all guest liked it and hotel has to do it more days.

There was a lot of Europen guests in the hotel, usually from England. They like to speak with Turkish persons. But some waiters do not understand their accent.I think hotel has to give more English training to them about English language. We have new one lovely English couple friends.now.We send email each other and they invite to us there.

The hotel location is so-so but very easy to go city center and Kemer by bus.So you can find to do something everywhere also there is alot of good restaurant nearby to hotel.

The rooms were very clean, maid tidied our room every day and do her job very good.

I recommend Sealife Hotel for value and friendly staff (especially Gokhan).Necessarily,I will go the Sealife next year for my holiday.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had a great holiday. The rooms were beautifully cleaned and presented every day with the rest of the hotel conforming to the same high standards. The all inclusive deal provided a huge variety of food to suit every taste and was all of a very high standard. There was such a great choice. I was very pleased with the availability of fresh fruit and salads which made eating here a very pleasurable experience. The swimming pools were very clean. We found the staff friendly and very helpful - we were english so take no notice of any reviews that say otherwise. Excursions organised via local reps allowed us to go on a brilliant white water rafting trip which we would highly recommend as it was the most amazing day out and thoroughly enjoyed by us all. The beach though shingle was very nice with plenty of sun beds for all and the sea was great to swim in. We went on a banana boat from the beach water sports which was very good value and immense fun. Anyone who couldn't have a great holiday here must have an attitude problem. We would highly recommend this hotel. If you want our only thing that we feel could have been improved it was that the coffee was not to our taste though the rest of the holiday outweighed this minor fact. A very big thankyou to all the staff at The Sealife who made our holiday such a pleasure.

It's not the best hotel but it's the best hotel for your money. The food and house keeping are alright but the staff members were super friendly. There was a guy named Tolga... helped me and my friends a lot. He was a literally problem solver. I'm definitely coming back here next year. It's hella recommended. =))

I have visited Turkey a couple of times before. But this experience was my most memorable ever. Hotel staff from kitchen to household everyone was super nice to me and my fiance during our whole trip. Front desk supervisor Mr. Unalan was so helpful inside and out side the hotel for us to have a good time. They were welcoming us as if they were having their own relatives over. They made sure everything was okay and we were having a good time while we were at our trip. I will definitely come back to Sea Life Family Resort Hotel again. Thank you guys so much for all the effort and giving us a blasting summer vacation. You guys rock !

The thing that intrigued me most about the Sealife hotel when we arrived was its exterior, which looked like the back end of a cruise ship! When we got off our transfer bus there was already someone waiting to take our bags. On entering the hotel I was very impressed by the layout and cleanliness of the lobby, which instantly conveyed a sense of welcome with leather sofas and attractive decoration. Unfortunately we had arrived too late for 'midnight soup' as our flight was delayed, however the staff were very quick and efficient to get us checked in and take our luggage to our rooms. Overall first impressions got off to a good start.

Initially we had two separate rooms on opposite sides of the first floor hallway with two in each room. One of them was overlooking the kids swimming pool at the back of the hotel with a raised balcony and the other was right opposite the foyer/hotel entrance with a ground level patio. So not the best views in the world, however the rooms were incredibly clean and spacious with one double bed and one single bed, a small television, coffee table, armchair, wardrobe, fridge, small but nice bathroom and air conditioning. One of the first things I discovered is that you have to insert your key card into a slot by the door in order to activate the electricity supply to the room. If this is left in overnight the air conditioning will continue to run, which was good indeed.

The following day we asked if the rooms could be changed so that they were next to each other and both had a balcony off ground level. After some deliberation we were eventually offered a king suite on the fifth floor for no extra charge, which we accepted of course. Even though this was on the fifth floor there was a lift as well as stairs, so was easily accessible. The lift did seem to take a long time sometimes, however. The suite had two separate bedrooms and one combined with the living area. The master bedroom had a double bed with double doors opening onto a large balcony overlooking the sea, a fridge and a large wardrobe. The other bedroom was a small single room with a window. There were also two more single beds in the living area, which also had a sofa, two armchairs, a large coffee table, two higher tables, a large flatscreen television and two more balconies (see pictures). There were two bathrooms, one with a shower, which was small but functional and the other had a bath/shower, which was much bigger and nicely finished (see picture).

Next is the food and drink, which was incredibly varied, delicious and plentiful. I think the hotel is only all inclusive, so of course everything was unlimited and local drinks (including real Coca Cola) were all free. The wine and beer was ok, not the best stuff, but you wouldn't expect it to be. There was the main restaurant, three a la carte restaurants (Chinese, Italian and Mediterranean), which you could eat at for free once during your stay, as well as a snack bar by the swimming pool, serving chips/pizza/burgers etc (although I didn't use this at all). Three main meals were provided (breakfast, lunch and dinner) as well as a snack of cookies/cakes at around 4pm and midnight soup between 11.30pm and midnight. I have read reviews that say the food is a bit boring, but I disagree. Whoever said it was boring probably ate the same thing every day by choice. In actual fact, I think I managed to eat something different every day during the week that we were there! If you are open to trying new flavours, it makes for a much more interesting and varied eating experience. My one negative point is the coffee, which was horrible, cheap instant stuff that tasted like it contained some sort of disinfectant. Apart from that, everything was top notch!

We chose to eat at the Italian restaurant for our one a la carte meal, which was fantastic! It was a set menu of about 6 small courses (five savoury and one sweet). The restaurant was rather empty with only three tables being occupied, however this can't be through poor food quality as it was outstanding! We had our meal on Wednesday which provided a nice change to eating in the main restaurant in the middle of the week.

The hotel facilities were very comprehensive. There were three swimming pools (two general and one childrens' pool with water slides). There were plenty of sunbeds, however it was the classic situation of having to put your towel on one by about 7.30am or having to sit on the floor until one became available later in the day. The pools were large, clean and refreshingly cool. The entertainments team organised various activities/ games such as water polo each day which made things a bit more interesting. There were also two table tennis tables, although most of the paddles were broken and you could rarely find a ball to play with. To get round this you could buy two fairly decent paddles and 6 balls from the hotel shop for 23 Turkish Lira (about £11), which was good.

The evening entertainment was variable. It always started with a kids dancing session at around 9pm which did get rater tedious by the third day. At around 10pm the main feature started which comprised of a few impressive dance shows and a not so impressive magic show. Generally though, the entertainment was very well organised and a good compliment to the evening. Do be prepared to get up and join in with the end of show dance (which was always a good laugh!).

The hotel included a health spa/fitness centre with a small gym and swimming pool and a huge list of available treatments/massages. Although I didn't use the gym it was free to use and comprised some basic CV and weights equipment. I opted to have the economy package, which included a Turkish bath, bubble massage and an aromatherapy massage, all for a very reasonable price of €40 (about £33). The Turkish bath was a somewhat surreal experience. Essentially you lie on a platform while somewhen else washes and scrubs you down. Th bubble massage was fun and you got covered in huge amounts of bubbles before being massaged. All this left you feeling squeaky clean. After this we sat down to dry off for 10 minutes of so while drinking a cup of Turkish tea. Then came the aromatherapy massage, which covered the whole body and left you feeling energised. After this I had a quick shower to wash off all the oil, before going for a quick session in the sauna and a swim to finish off. I would highly recommend the Turkish bath and massage to anyone, although do this at the beginning of the week before you spend too much time in the sun, as you do get a good scrubbing, which would hurt if you were sunburnt.

The hotel is situated at a stone's throw from the beach across a fairly main road. There is a pedestrian crossing right outside the hotel however so this is not a problem. The sunbed area is then a short walk of about 50 metres or so to the right. The sunbeds are free to use for Sealife guests in this section of the beach, however drinks are not free at the beach bar. The beach itself is not the nicest as the sand is very coarse and pebbly. However, the sea is lovely and warm and incredibly clear. If you don your snorkel you can see a multitude of different fish not too far out. There is a watersports tent where you can do various things like hiring a jet-ski and paragliding, however most of these are expensive. We chose to do the banana boat, which was a mere 10 Turkish lira each (about £4.20).

Finally I will say a few words about the hotel staff, who were brilliant. They were constantly going round ensuring the place was clean and tidy, which made for a pleasant environment. Although if you leave your plate unattended in the restaurant, it may not be there when you come back! They were all very friendly and helpful and made sure our holiday went smoothly without any major issues.

In short, our stay in the Sealife hotel was very very good and enjoyable. The place was always clean, the food was outstanding and it was a very pleasant place to be. It was a short half an hour transfer from the airport and an even shorter trip into Antalya. Although it is rated as 5 star, it is not 5 star by British standards, probably more like a very good 3 star or average 4 star. And for what we paid, it was incredible value for money. This hotel is definitely not for people looking for great night life, however I would recommend the Sealife Family Resort Hotel to any family or couple who are looking for a fun holiday by the beach, in a great location not far from the city!
