Kaleici is the most amazing ancient city I have seen in my 2.5 years living and teaching English in Turkey. It history dates back thousands of years. In the center of Kaleici you can see the ruins of what once was a Greek temple, later a Christian Byzantium church, and then a mosque. You can also see Hadrian's Gate and charming old homes built with stone, parks overlooking the Mediterranean, and quaint bridges by old pubs and courtyard gardens with fountains and pools. My favorite place is the actual port of Antalya, at the foot of the old stone castle. Restaurants on the cliff above offer Turkish tea. At one restaurant, you can climb down the steps to a little beach, suntan on couches, or swim in the warm Mediterranean under stars at midnight. If you go to Turkey, don't miss Kaleici in Antalya by the sea! I loved this place so much that I included it in my Kindle book, "Walk with Me in Turkey."

Gorgeous place to stay. Mostly pedestrianised with occasional vehicles passing through. Very much like a maze of cobbled streets with quaint old buildings. Lovely walk to the harbour via the bazaar, but don't forget to haggle.
Be prepared to walk and walk!!! Soak in hotel's small pools on your return before dinner. Lots of beautiful places to eat. Try cafe Barcelona a short distance across the road from Hadrian's gate.
In the harbour, boat trips are offered but again prices can vary from 50tl down to 7tl, depending how desperate the vendors are!!

Parts of the old town have a seaside resort feel and are very busy with tourists coming and going, Lots of good eating places trying to get you inside, lots of choice and all prices. Live music of all kinds all over the place, boozy pubs and shots places to eateries that offer quiet courtyards that cut you off from the noise and bussle of the street. Good value and quality to be had on the food front as well. Nice safe feel as you walk about and while you might get lost for a moment in the maze of streets you will turn a corner and recognise where you have been

I suggest to pay a visit to this pace if came to antalya. Old fasten style with a nice sea view and lots of wedding ceremonies.
Also very good restaurants and lots of live music.
