“Emergency luxury - utterly brilliant”
Reviewed March 14, 2014

When we arrived in Antalya, the hotel we'd originally booked wasn't ready and didn't look that impressive. So we went for a walk and saw this place.

"Wow," we thought "What a pity we're not staying here. Wish we were the kind of people who could stay in a pension overlooking a Roman temple."

We trudged back to our original hotel. Our rooms still weren't ready and they regretted that there was no electricity that day and...

A quarter of an hour later we were checked into the Villa Verde. The rooms are DELIGHTFUL. You do pay a proper price for them, but they are exceptional. The bathroom would rival that of a 5-star hotel. The bed was impressive and the view was stunning.

Good hotels in Turkey are all about the views. And here you can sit up and look out at the temple ruins. In the evenings locals gather there for a bit to play guitar and talk - it's not intrusive, it's really nice, and don't worry about them keeping you up all night, as they're gone by 10pm.

The breakfast is amazing. The staff have excellent English but were very encouraging about my awful Turkish.

Room Tip: We stayed in the annex, which was SUPERB and offered great views of the temple.

Charming enthusiastic owner/managers Mitsuyo and her husband. The rooms are on the small side but the location is excellent at the civilised end of the old city, away from the souvenir shops and an easy stroll to the main sites or the tram. Courtyard views of the ruined church/mosque and an excellent breakfast in a nice outdoor seating area. The host was generous in providing a take-out breakfast at very short notice when our lift arrived early.

Friendly and helpful owners and staff. Fresh and delicious breakfast with home-made jams and cakes. Wonderful location across Roman ruins. Beautiful, stylish room.

We slept here at the start of our St Paul hike in Taurus mountains, and after return. Five nights in total. This is a fine B & B that we definitely recommend.

The only reason for not rating 5 stars, is that on several nights, some street noise from loitering youth came accross our window. (We were sleeping in the room with a small balcony in their second building, located opposite the main building.) Other than that, we think it is all five stars!

The location is good. It is in the Old Town and beside the old mosque. It is very near to the Tramway. We took the night bus from Goreme to Antalya by METRO company. METRO has the free shuttle bus from Otgar to Kaleici. Otherwise, you can get the tramway to İsmetpaşa Station and walk for 10min.

The environment is great. Green and Quiet. We sit beside the ruins during every breakfast. With blue sky, I felt peace and nice. We stayed for 3 days. It was comfortable, except the shower is literally small.

the hotel is constituted by tow parts, one is a yard and 6 rooms with the front desk, the other is a yard a few steps away. we live in the one with the front desk. the yard is perfect and big enough, just near the ruins. the breakfast is perfect and served by individuals. room is well decorated. wifi works well.

the room near the street is noisy in the night, although it has a good window view. the hot water in bath is very hard to control, and very tiny. it's a difficult thing to take a shower in this hotel.

Good location at the old town. One might have troubles finding the hotel as it is located at one of the many many small lanes of kaleici. It will be easier to locate the historical ruins site which was an old mosque then converted church then mosque... the hotel is just beside. Rooms were basic and the doors and shower had issues. But breakfast was excellent and very very filling. Though not buffet, the servings are very generous.

For those who want to do laundry, the hotel doesn't offer the service but down the lane, there is a traditional laundry shop that charges 20try for a machine load of clothes. In all besides the rooms, all else were good.

We stayed in Villa Verde for a couple of days before hitting the mediterranean coast with our rental car. We had a simple but clean room that had everything we needed. The owners are very friendly and helpful and always up for a little chat! There are numerous travel guides and magazines that you can borrow to explore Antalya and its surroundings. Breakfast was the best we had on our Turkey trip with fruits, cheese, tomatoes, olives, cucumbers, bread, jam, honey, fresh orange juice and even a slice of yummy cake. Also, you get a 10% discount at the adjacent restaurant that does yummy fish dishes. Overall, Villa Verde is a great pension in the heart of Antalya that I can really recommend to you.

Room Tip: Ask for a room to the backside so you want be disturbed by passing groups and/or people dining in th...
