“DISGUSTING”

ABSOLUTLY AWFUL Not 4 star nor all inclusive as stated Food is what your given, no choice what you are given is not fit for a dog to eat. No entertainment as advertised. Beds were just boards my dog sleeps on better. No catering for vegetarians at all. Chicken everyday and hard boiled eggs for breakfast that's after the flies have had their feast. On a busy dual carriageway dangerous for children an open area for them to get onto the road. Got any sense stay well away.

Room Tip: no choice all rubbish

I stayed in this hotel with two very small children. My little girl has lots of allergies hence why i chose self catering, the cooker was not working properly so i compliant to the guys in reception and they said its working which made me very angry. The cleaning staff did not clean properly which was very upseting but worst thing was when my little girl was sick one day and i called for cleaning staff to come and change the bedding which the manager had the cheek to say that they already cleaned your room today. My kids was very friendly to everyone which they used say to me control your kids they are distrubing our customers. The last day they made me pay for a broken glass and one small plate which cost me £12.00.

Room Tip: if you have kids stay away

We arrived at the Sifalar Alanya hotel a party of two people for a two week stay. What a Gem! Our holiday was based in a 2 bedroom apartment. large and airy, very tastefully furnished to an excellent standard, we had 2 balconies which were surprisingly big as were the rooms with lots of storage space, the kitchenette was very well equipped. there were enough plates, cups, forks, pans etc. for people who like to self cater, local grocery stores and supermarkets are a few meters away. However I would recommend that you try the day/evening meals at the hotel the food was excellent. The guest were mainly from Sweden, Finland and Holland, however, all the staff spoke English as did most of the other guests, a bonus for us Brits abroad. The Hotel is located on a main road, just a few minutes walk to the main Dolmus (bus station) handy for going up to the castle or further afield for lovers of sea and sand the beach and promanade walk are just a few minutes away, the area is very Turkish, lots of local flavour so expect a traditional Turkish welcome, we found the people both inside and outside the hotel to be very warm and friendly but not pushy. Step outside the Sifalar if you can pull youself away from the pool, take a ten fifteen minute steady walk, this will bring you to the main tourist areas, Kleopatra beach, tourist and gold shops as well as the Harbour. We will be returning to the Sifalar Hotel hopefully in the autumn.

Room Tip: Fabulous hotel and a great location. All the apartments/rooms are furnished to an excellent standar...

The Sifalar is located in the 'Turkish' part of Alanya -- meaning not so many tourists & not so much noise -- which is something I look for when booking a hotel here.

However, my mum found that she was woken by 6-8am due to the people above us & the people gathering around the pool at that time. The hallways can also be quite noisy when people are coming & going.

The apartments are big & spacious: they are always kept very clean too. The kitchens are well-equipped with a proper 4-ring cooker, utensils & decent fridge -- which we love because we always stay self-catering. The bathrooms are small but bright & clean, with a bath/shower combi which is very unusual in Turkey. The bedrooms are spacious with fitted wardrobes & a dressing table -- the only drawback is a shortage of power sockets in there.

As far as I can remember, the AC unit is in the living room of all 3 blocks of this hotel -- we just turned it on, left the bedroom door open & we were fine with this.

The main pool (between Blocks A & B) gets sun all day: however the pool is always busy so if you want a sunlounger, you'd best get down there super early.

The Sifalar is about a 10 minute walk from Keykubat beach & a 15 minute walk from the centrum -- where the bazaar, clubs & restaurants are.

There are plenty of lovely restaurants in the area -- such as 'Why Not' on Yenilmez Caddesi & 'Istanbul Old Steak Restaurant' on Keykubat Caddesi. There's also an English-themed restaurant called 'Big Ben' on Keykubat Caddesi, for those of you who prefer some home comforts. Of course, there's also McDonalds & Starbucks on the main road near the centrum.
In relation to pub/clubs, I'd recommend Queen's Gardens on Muftuler Caddesi/Demiciler Sokak.

Room Tip: Having stayed in all three blocks of this hotel over the years, it's easy to pick the best. All...

i stayed in this hotel with 4 friends. The room was very nice, clean, spacious, The only nice part of our holiday, i'm afraid to say.
We stayed all inclusive. The food was awful to say the least. the drinks were watered down. local beer was awful. if you wanted lemonade or orange juice etc that was EXTRA if you wanted efes beer you had to pay EXTRA.
On the 2nd night they ran out of vodka on which we complained to the bar manager, whose whole attitude was awful. they had a bottle of smirmoff on the shelf and we was told that was EXTRA. he told us that we drank too much the night before and wasn't going shopping until the next day. ( what do you go all inclusive for ) so needless to say we had to eat out.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Diane, Diane , Sue, Yvonne and Sandra from Liverpool.
So our word of the week was EXTRA.

Sifalar was a good apartementos hotel. We (two adults, two children) lived in a 2 bedroom apartment. Balconies were surprisingly big. We made our breakfast and lunch by ourselves. Kitchen was ok, there were enough plates, cups, forks, pans etc. It was only about 30 metres (across the street) to a local grocery. The shopkeeper was very friendly and nice man.
The receptionist was not so friendly... well, he was ok, but didn't smile or talk much. The cleaner was very polite.
The swimming pool was rather big, but sometimes there were too many people... But our kids loved to swim there.
We didn't eat at the hotels' restaurant, because there were lots of good restaurants very mear. "Topin paikka" was excellent - and we had to only cross the street to get there.

The hotel was situated across a few supermarkets nearby, not far away from the beach. Mainly turkish area, were you see alot of the locals which i thought was great. The accomodation was adequate enough for 3 of us, as we stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment, the size was quite big, in actual fact it had 2 balconies, each balcony was big enough to accomodate upto 4 people to sit and relax. The rooms were decent size, but must admit were fairly basic. The receptionist were extremely friendly, hussain and efeshan, they would go out of their way to help you all the time. The breakfast, we sorted out when we arrived was good, but not a variety from day to day. Typical salami, bread, butter, tea, and cereals etc. I would recommend to try to book the top floor as the music played on the poolbar can be a bit loud at times, there are lifts, so you'll be okay. But all in all we loved the place, nice panaromic views of those high mountains, nice and clean all over. The pool was big, but i did not try it, as the weather was excellent, as i went over to the beach, some 200 metres away. To eat out try iskandinavia restaurant, turn left out of the hotel, walk some 50 metres, then its 2nd turning on the right, i think the road name is Gullerpinari Mah, walk further done some 150 metres, on left side you'll find it, lovely food. Rice, meat donner with salad, for 7 liras, about 2.50 pounds, or if you want a quick take away, just opposite there is a narrow street, there you'll find Dag Fast Food, 2.5 liras about 1.00 for a chicken donner all freshly prepared for takeaway, and good value for money, I loved the way the chap chopped the salad, interesting all done freshly in front of you. Near the main banks in Alanya town, there was a place called SIRAN HALK LOKANTASI Restaurant, really lovely food and purely turkish, its just off the main streets near the harbour, but worth trying the food, try stating this to the some turkish person "Alanya Ticaret ve sanayi odasi arkasi" they then might understand the location.
Taxi's all are metered, from the harbour to the hotel expect to pay about 6 lira's. There are regular coaches, from almost outside the hotel you can take a dolmus, small buses to Cleopatra beach for 1 lira each about 40p one way. To go to Alanya castle, your better of taking a taxi, to wait for you upto an hour at the castle,it costs extra, 5 liras each for entry, but the views are fantastic to take pictures of alanya. then stop at castle tower on the way back done from those dizzy heights, it will cost you by taxi a return trip of 30 lira's. Go to dim dim chai, lovely place, through fam tours number: tel number [--], person who sold the trip was honest and not as forcefull as other tour guides, cost 50 lira's, included lunch on the river, village trip as well. last from 9.30am to 4.30pm, worthwhile. Alanya was excellent for me, see more of the turkish people, unfortunatly less brits, and more dutch people around. Its a upper class resort compared to marmaris and bodrum, as its a bit more expensive eating out, excursions etc. But this will suit a family, couple, or elderly person, its not known for trouble, yobs etc, which you might possibly find now and again in marmaris or bodrum. I would rate the hotel 4 out of 5, the resort a 5 out of 5 for me. Weather was great i went from 13th may to 20th may, temperatures started from 25c towards last 2 days 29c to 30c, and weather was excellent, thunderstorms only first day, onwards, sunny periods onwards.

  • Liked — balcony size
  • Disliked — furniture looked fairly basic, may be i expect too much, this is norm perhaps in turkey
