Nice People, Hard Bed

Review of Diamore
3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jan 10, 2013
Although this hotel is okay as to amenities it had the hardest bed I have ever slept on. The breakfast was good and the people were friendly but that bed was awful. The hotel is located on the main street in Alanya (Ataturk Blvd.) and is a few blocks from the shoreline. It was a bit creepy when we arrived late at night because the hotel was pitch black. However the lights came on as we entered the lobby and a desk clerk appeared. The halls had the same energy saving feature.

Room Tip: Try out the bed first.

Hotel is definitely better than the other reviews suggest - at least during low season. Large gap between door and floor (1 in) is a little bit disturbing during the night (light and sound get through), but interior is in good shape.

Room tip: Avoid rooms towards the street (pool-side is much quieter)

The staff is not good at their job. Especially the woman working at the reception desk was very rude. I had a single room with two beds and when I was back to my room from beach, I saw some stuff and bags which belongs to some other client. So, they had put somebody else to my room without my permission. When I complain about this they were too rude to speak and they promised me to make discount on my bill. However, they rejected later which means they had lied. The rooms looking to the street side is not good to sleep because of the loud.

arrived early hours in morning and bed was not made had to chase the manager to put a sheet on the mattress.. waiter asked were u from and when we told him scotland he said weres that...This hotel is definately not suitable for british people we were there 1 week and everyone spoke german.. breakfast consisted of boiled eggs,, chicken for lunch and dinner. We were all inclusive but you could not get a drink either beer or cola until 11am and bar closed at 11pm.. There was never any ice and kept running out of beer. There was a tv in the room but no british channels. Would definitley not recommend this hotel... could not wait to leave.

Room tip: ask for pool view as windows are not double glazed and traffic going on all nite tooting horns and motorbikes revving up

lt was the first time that our tour company (Nazar) was sending guests to this hotel. After many complains it transferred all its clients to Pegasos Resort, a five star hotel. This might give you a hint of how frustrated we were with the place.

When we arrived at night my daughters bed was not available so she had to share the bed with us. lt was worse for others. There was a family of five who had to share a double bed for two nights!

The receptionist as someone has noted was a disgrace. l will not waste my time wrting about her.

The beer was terrible. l have been to turkey many times and have come to like their many local brands. That horrible stuff they served was really a disappointment.

The plus side was the cleaning. Maybe its because we came to know the cleaning ladies and tipped them. Because while our fellow guests complained that their rooms were never cleaned, ours were cleaned daily plus we got new towels everytime and also our beds were changed every second day.

l have learned that it always pays to be kind to hotel employees.

However my conclusion is that avoid this hotel, there are many nice hotel in Alanya

I was really disappointed with the stuff of this hotel- I mean the female receptionost. She was really rude to us, during our check out she charged us for the knob that was broken. The thing is it got broken iwhile opening the door, so it wasnt done on purpose. It could have happened to anybody else. It was really unfair!!! No explanation was accepted, the lady was really really rude, she should not work with people, coz a receptionist should know how to deal with them. The other thing is the boss, who disappears during check outs. There is no possibility to talk to him. The receptionist blames the boss, that he ordered her to charge us, and when asked to call him she refuses. Like a conspiracy! I wouldnt be surprised if this broken knob would be placed back for another guests to come!
What is more, its a big joke that on our arrival there were no rooms for us! we had to be accomodated for a night in another hotel of the same owner- much worse in standard with the restaurant room on the other side of the street. No recompensation was made- even though we were supposed to get some.
THEY MAKE JOKES OF THE GUESTS, IN THE MOMENT OF CHECKING OUT YOU ARE NO LONGER IMPORTANT TO THEM, THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR SATISFACTION. DONT GO THERE
