Went to the Beach Club Doganay (pronounced Dow-an-eye) with my friend from 23/4-30/4/13 and had a lovely time! You will always get mixed reviews about All Inclusive hotels, but I thought this one was fab, and as you should always do, go to a foreign hotel knowing you're in another country and things won't be as they are at home!

The hotel is quite plush and doesn't feel like a beach-front hotel, mainly because of the carpet in the bedrooms! We were in a standard room which was fine, not massive but it had a double bed and a single bed for 2 of us. 1 slight negative, people were rather noisy walking/running along the balconies to get to their rooms late at night, so disturbed sleep a bit, and the walls between rooms are quite thin too. The reception and lobby area are lovely, with nice seating areas and lounges. It's kept immaculately clean, and well maintained throughout, with nice loos too!

The hotel is quite long, and points away from the beach rather than being wide across an expanse of the beach. The main road cuts across the resort so you have to go under a tunnel to get to the beach and its bar, but that's not a problem at all. The family pool with slides is at the furthest point away from the beach, and the quiet/adult pool is at the front and so is near the road, the only disadvantage to it really as you can hear the road noise. But the pool itself is gorgeous and was very quiet when we were there, very refreshing and perfect for swimming lengths. There were people there of all ages, so you could see that children loved the slides and mini fair in the kids club. The 2 main buildings of the hotel are split by a terrace/seating area, which has a bar/cake stand which is open from about 11am to late afternoon. The selection of cakes is lovely with great variety each day.

The food - well it was amazing! I've been to All Inclusive before and this was the best. The variety and effort put into the salads and desserts was fantastic. Hot food was lovely too. But then I enjoy trying lots of different things and definitely don't want 'plain' food or just steak and chips every night. The choice of vegetable dishes was great, with BBQs some nights, roast night, always spaghetti available, soups, breads, Chocolate fountain for dessert one night, just gorgeous. Didn't get chance to eat in the a la carte restaurant though.

The other great thing about the All Inclusive was the drinks/bars. Water is freely available in fridges all around the hotel, just grab a few bottles. The soft drinks are not yuk, actually they are Fanta, Sprite and Coca Cola. Red and white wine is nice, Rose is not so great, beer is fine, they'll make any cocktail you want in the lobby bar, and really nice bar staff too. TIP if you're going into Alanya for a night, its very expensive so get a water bottle and fill it with vodka from the bar! Mateus is happy to do this for you ;o)

The staff in the hotel are friendly and polite, but not in your face (apart from the animation team - to be expected!). The entertainment is pretty poor but nothing different to any other hotel I've ever been to! They do have a spa, and we were only asked once in the whole week to buy a treatment.

The beach is lovely, a bit shingly and big pebbles in the shallows, but the sea is so refreshing. If you turn left onto the beach and walk to the end up to the rocks, the sea is lovely there, no big pebbles so great for little kids. WATCH OUT THOUGH there was a Turkish guy loitering in the rocks and 'exposing' himself (as a polite way of putting it) so need to look out for the dirty locals.

The location by the sea and proximity to Alanya town is great, its just a long transfer from Antalya airport - 2.5 hours. On the whole, really fab place and suitable for all ages.

Thank you for your time writing this lovely review.
We are really happy you enjoyed your holiday. I can only apologise for that local indescreet man! Obviously not all locals are the same and we hope it hasnt put you off coming back to turkey or our hotel.
Antalya airport is a little far away, however, there are plans to open the Alanya gazipaşa airport to British flights in the near future! That will mean only a 40minute transfer time.
Once again thank you for your review.

Kind regards

This hotel is fantastic for all different people. The staff are great. The hotel is clean and modern. This is a must go. It has mini fair ground for kids. Different pools for relaxing, playing, and indoor if too hot in Sun. Everything is really well thought about. Would recommend to anyone.
I could go on and on and on.......

we arrived late at night, we were greeted by the night manager who took care of our bags, and took us for something to eat and drink, a very helpful person, i have never met staff so friendly, the food was 100%, the hotel itself you cannot fault at all, gemma mills the daytime manager was so helpful, she is a lady, the rooms are immaculate, i cant say anything bad about the hotel, the animation team are funny and helpful, we would recommend this hotel to any party or family, the head chef is a gentleman and his staff are so nice, dont take our word, try this wonderful hotel yourself, highly recommended.

Room Tip: we atayed in room 6032, you have a view of the pool and the sea.

This hotel is listed as 5 star but it is not ,but on the plus side it is a very good 4 star, very good food and a 24 hour bar makes up for the for the missing star.On the downside is the animation team, while as a group they are all very nice people, they do not take no for an answer, and as our party are in our early 60s we did not want badgering to participate in games but to relax and do nothing but they don't see it like that and after a while can be irritating due to constant through the day and then again in the evening ,but apart from that a good week and excellent VFM

Arrived late at night, very friendly reception staff and must have taken no more than five minutes to check in,luggage taken to our rooms for us, if you are hungry you can get a snack in room provided sandwiches, soup, etc.the lobby bar is open 24hrs so no trouble getting a drink. The rooms are comfy and cleaned every day, free safe and mini bar with water and fruit juice provided.small balcony ideal for that 1st cuppa in the morning. The restaurant has plenty of choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner but don't expect your full English breakfast.if you like the sweets and cake counter your on to a winner.very clean and staff helpful .there are plenty of comfy seating areas around to relax after you have eaten.the lobby bar does get quite busy but you don't wait to long for a drink, bar staff very good and friendly, even cocktails included in drinks. The pool areas are lovely both front and back, front being the place to go for the peace and quiet, the pool at the back has 3slides which is great for kids, plus the big kids in us too.this area is where the animation team are, they are a very friendly bunch of girls and boys mostly English speaking and great with the kids,if you just want peace and quiet then go to front pool as they seem nonstop in trying to get you to participate in games round the pool, only doing there job though and very good too.the only complaint we was there was a lot of children in a group running around in the evening shouting and playing in the lifts unsupervised. Overall we had a very enjoyable holiday and would recommend this hotel to family and friends .if you want a snack go to beach bar much more choice.

We stayed here for 9 days on a last minute holiday and for the price, we had a really good relaxing time. There are two out door pools. The one at the back is more active with slides and the bar/cafe area close by and the continual activities of the animation team, the one at the front more sedate and quiet except for the noise from the nearby road. The childrens club and small activity park with paddling pool and small rides is strangely situated slightly away from the hotel across the rear car park. Food is available somewhere all day. While the restaurant is well laid out and a good selection of food, there was a Russian travel convention on where the students at time took up most of the seats when the restaurants opened which was slightly off putting and could be something the hotel could do with planning better. There was a good variety of drinks available but not everything at every bar. i.e there were no spirits at the beach bar. The rooms were clean and to a good standard for Turkey with a free safe and large LCD tv (usual channels) The sauna and haman are free to use and towels are provided for a small charge during your stay that can be exchanged whenever you wish. Although there is a free bus service to Alanya twice a day that takes approx 15mins, we caught the local bus for 3lira and found the area around the port/marina very interesting and pleasent to walk around. The staff were approachable and willing to chat if you wanted to strike up a conversation and Emma on Customer relations was a great help if any problems arose or giving advice on how to get around.
Is the hotel 5 star maybe not, a good Turkish 4 star is more like it But overall we enjoyed it and like many others would return again

Thank you for the good review. I show all reviews to the owner of the hotel in the hope that we can continously make the hotel better every year. Regarding the conventions, the owner will review the situation and make suitable plans for the future.
