My Husband and I have just come back from a fabulous week staying at the great Bora Bora Butik Hotel in Alanya. We were made very welcome by Bora and his Mother and all the staff could not have looked after us any better, Thank you.
A special thank you to Monica and Marcus for all their help and also to Sedra, thank you (keep your English lessons going!!xx)
Please try a holiday staying at Bora Bora Butik Hotel in Alanya, they have made great refurbishments, the rooms are lovely, very modern and very clean. The food is good.
We would not hesitate to go back again, sooner than later!!!

Arrived very early morning and was put in a very small room with smelly toilet/shower attached, complained and was moved the next day to a nice big apartment. Spoke to several others during our stay and this happened to at least four other couples!
Facilities were ok for us, quiet for a chill-out extra holiday. Food ok but little choice for main meals, breakfast poor but choice of 2 cereals, meat/cheese, salads and barely warm scrambled eggs or similar. The bread was really nice though and good choice of jams etc.
Beach just over (or under) the road at front of hotel. Use the Orange section of beach and the Sunbeds/Parasols are free.
Overall ok for Turkish 3* (Think English 2*)

Room Tip: Check your room before you accept it and stand your ground! We were put in a cell for the first nigh...

We booked this 'all inclusive' hotel last minute and after looking at reviews was told it was too late to change. There are indeed two Bora Bora hotels and the Altan is the poor relation! A glorified youth hostel is a more accurate description.
Our room, the pool and surroounding areas were clean and staff were polite enough although no one spoke very good English.
The food was never hot as everything was laid out on tables rather than hot/cold plates. Apart from salad, there was only ever one hot choice. Everyone learnt to arrive for food when it came out. No food was available of any description between meal times and bar closed at 11pm. No room made available after check out time and had to wait until 8pm for transfer bus very hot and sticky. Not a good choice for a holiday and thankfully was only there a week!

On arrival ,after a very early morning flight, we were shown to a dark, damp smelling room located beside the kitchen and the bins. As we were so tired we dropped our luggage and went straight for breakfast and after eating the boiled eggs ( the only thing left ) with the consistancy of asuperballs, we were then told that we were in luck as another room had become available near the pool area. Although this room was much better it was still basic, and the shower room (wet room ) had to be mopped out after every use as the drainage was very poor.
Every meal time you had to eat at the beginning of the sitting as the food ran out very quickly and was rarely refilled. The food was repetetive and basic, but what concerned us most was that if there were chips on the menu at lunchtime they would reappear cold on the salad table in the evening decorated with tomato sauce....not good....who eats that ?
The location of the hotel is approximately 100 metres from the beach but we chose to stay at the pool area which was clean and well maintained. Travel to Alanya centre is very easy by bus, and costs only 1 tl, and there are plenty of bargains to be had there.
The staff at the hotel were all very pleasant and helpful, but had very basic English.
The one thing that really made our holiday was the fantastic people that we met there.
The weather was exceptionally hot , and there is no getting away from the fact that Turkey is great value, however, we wouldnt go back to Bora Bora.........SORRY !!!!!!

I booked my family holiday 3 days hand. We were all looking forward to a week away in the sun. We arrived in turkey, got to the hotel and were told we had been put in the other bora bora as they had getting an unexpected party arrive so the had no room for us. We were then taken to the bora bora down the road. It looked very nice at the time of booking in. We went for a walk around in the morning after a long sleep, the hotel looked great,no sign of any play area for the kids like it said it had. Pool was clean and pool area tidy.food was not great it was awful, nothing for the kids to eat, some food was not cooked properly like the lasagne we had one night for dinner. Went down for breakfast the next morning to find the lasagne chopped up on the breakfast table. For an 3* all inclusive hotel it was very bad. No entertainment at night times. We ate out every night so it worked out very expensive for us. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE.
